Computer Prob

Postby tee-pane on Fri Nov 28, 2008 8:06 am

My new pc (2 weeks old) had broke down for about a week, at first the computer restarted and random colors and stripes appears on the screen randomly. I tried rebooting... Same thing occured, i could get into safe mode for 15 minutes then pc freezes and random colors come out of no where. After the freezing i tried restarting but now I cant even c anything on my screen rite now, except for weird stripes with random colours. A BSoD (blue screen of death) came out with nv4_disp as the problem. In safe mode, i have searched for viruses, but nothing came up from the scan. I have tried using another monitor but same experienced same problem. What the hell's the problem? Video card? btw i was playing 2k9 when the computer broke down! Help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you heard of this thing called "Google"? It supposedly answers a lot of questions.

Sarcasm aside, I just ran a search and came across these:

Nv4-disp Problems

Infinite loop fix.

Perhaps this one will solve your problem (which does indeed seem to be video card related...)

NV4_disp.dll Blue Screen Error Fix

Good luck and make sure to befriend Google.

Any chance you could try your new PC with a different monitor? If it works, you could investigate some of those solutions more thoroughly.

It's two weeks old, take it back to the store. They should replace it or, at the very least, repair it. That is, if you haven't voided your warranty.

Even better. No point in giving up on something that's only a couple of weeks old and still (presumably) under warranty.
