I think you're in the minority with seaon three. For me it's 1>2>4>3.

I thought miguel prado was like one of the most awesome characters ever. Season 2 had too many people i wanted to punch (leila, doakes, lundie). 4 was slow to get going but the 2nd half of it was phenomenal.

yes! i'm glad she is gone! she is such a buzzkill. julie benz did a remarkable job being a nag. i'm surprised Rita didn't call Dexter to pick up her I.D (while he was in the middle of chopping up Mtichell) and then drop it off to her at the airport.

Jae- I wouldn't call it repeating themselves though that's definitely one way to look at it. i see it as the writers telling us that Dexter can't find someone to connect with. i don't know how much further this series can go while keeping it interesting. season 4's ending was awesome.

I'm glad Lundy is gone. we longer have to see him naked

so far i say like season 1>4> 3&2 about the same

Just finished all four seasons of this. Fantastic stuff. By far Showtime's best show, and the only one on the level of most HBO shows. I blew through the first two seasons in a week, but I can't say I was a fan of the third. Miguel was a good character, but it just wasn't compelling until the last 3 episodes (and even then...)

Loved season 4 for the most part. The first 3 or 4 episodes were depressing and kind of a chore (and pretty much all the subplots sucked), but from the Thanksgiving one (best episode of the series?) and onward, it was pretty thrilling. Rita's death at the end stunned me. (that storyline about Dexter raising one of the kids (who is also a sociopath)) could exist with Harrison, with him also watching his mother's death in a puddle of blood (though 8 or so years would have to magically advance).

While I wouldn't quite put it up there with Six Feet Under and Deadwood, Dexter's a great show, and I'm really excited for season 5.

I must be in the minority then. Or maybe i just hated leila that much. To me: 1 and 4 are tied, 3 is second best, and 2 is by the worst (the only one i havent gone back to rewatch)

I agree. I'd probably put 4 above 1 because I got a bit bored with the ice truck killer about half way through but I had no idea where they were going to go with the trinity killer. Two I didn't really like at all and a lot of it made little sense. Three was cool, I liked the idea of Dexter having a pal/protege.

I also really liked the ideas behind Miguel. Dexter alwyas assumed anyone who found out "what he was" would freak and shun him. When Miguel found out, not only didnt he mind, but wanted to become Dexter. He idolized him. It was an interesting dynamic between the two and Michael C Hall/Jimmy Smits pulled it off really well. I felt a chemistry there i never really felt with the other actors.

I'm so excited for this. I know I'll spend the entire season stressing though, I hate when they start to suspect Dexter of anything

They've been hinting that deb knows dex isnt quite right for awhile (more so than just him being awkward). I think its a strong possibility in the last ep of the season deb discovers dex in the act.

I saw all of season 4 in less then 24 hours. I think season 4 is my favorite season of any show on television ever. I can't wait for season 5, I love this show too much. I sacraficed a cable box with NBA tv and HD channels, for a box that has movie channels such as show time. My cable box now doesn't even have basic channels, but I know Dexter and Californication will be well worth it.

It's allright.. I mean, it's a Dexter season. They're all great.
But season 2 is by far the best, imo. (Despite the annoying part of what's-her-name with the black hair.)

hey at least the british chick showed her titties! unlike Rita, who never showed anything.
i say 2 was entertaining, 1 had the best story and 4 had the best all-around acting & story. 3 with Jimmy Smits was easily my least favorite.

^ Totally agreed.

Didn't really like the first episode. It wasn't bad persay, just a bit dull. I'm sure it will get better though.

my roommate thinks that at the end of the season Deb will find out about Dexter's "hobbies" and it will come down to his decision to kill her or not.

oh and there's NO WAY Quinn survives this season.

Quinn is definitely gonna be the next Doakes.

Episode two was an improvement, episode three looks to be even better.
