Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Meanwhile, Jericho's finished up with WWE to go tour with Fozzy again, but indicated on Twitter that he'll be back at some point. I wouldn't call it a great run, but he's an asset to the company whenever he's around and I kind of liked some of the stuff with his return and feud with Punk. Looking forward to seeing him again sometime down the road.

Lesnar is also "done", but still has a lot of dates left on his deal and is rumoured to be back around Survivor Series.

Yeah it's been posted on the previous page, and no thanks.
I've grown accustomed to the spinner belt actually. Doesn't mean I wouldn't wanna change it back to the Undisputed belt, but still. It's aight.

Yeah, I'd rather see a return to something based on the Undisputed title or even the old Eagle belt. That one's not exactly an improvement on the Spinner design.

Also, came across this the other day:

I bet that's a poorly-edited work of the previously 'leaked' photo.

You can obviously tell from the top of the picture, and how parts of it wasn't cut off.

True, but the point is that's the rumoured design and for my money, it's not exactly an improvement. A lateral move at best, if it comes to pass.

Yep. All attacks to the head and neck are banned for the show. Well, at least that show's specifically for kids and the rest of us are free to ignore it. I don't imagine it'll be used to further angles in any kind of meaningful way and it's obviously not going to have the best in-ring work and five star match candidates.

Yup. I watch NXT from time to time, and it's not that bad.

Raw sure did suck this week. Pretty boring show overall, especially that Lawler vs Punk match.

I'm starting to get bored with both Raw and Smackdown to be honest. Even SummerSlam bored me.

i know what you mean. now that jericho's gone, i'm pretty much only watching to see what they do with Dolph Ziggler every week. although i do like that they turned punk heel. his face character was getting stale/annoying. didn't Diesel turn heel towards the end of his year-long title run? i think Bret beat him with a small package and he jackknifed him twice after the match

I always find a way to watch those programs on a weekly basis. But recently I just can't stand all the Tweets, Touts, needless recaps, etc.

Nice that JR's skills are being utilised, though it should be happening on RAW and Smackdown. If nothing else, he should do the major PPVs.

He was kind of a tweener but certainly leaning towards the heel side of things.

well TNA is still going strong. The whole baby daddy thing was resolved so now it is just post-feud matches. The gang climax finally happened last week with a huge brawl, so motives and leaders should be emerging soon from that storyline. I hate how they had their champion injured in the brawl, probably as a way to get the belt off him without making him look bad since Roode was a better champ IMO.

Still good stuff going on Thursday nights

Long, coherent, storylines that do not get axed at the whim of creative each week. Past feuds that are remembered, references, and affect current storylines. The best wrestling action this side Punk/Bryan, including the women. 'Spy' cameras picking up backstage promos which seem much more organic that WWE's. Tazz' random tirades, much better than anything Cole does, also, announcers announce and put over heels/faces rather than get overly involved in storylines. Cruiserweights aka X-Division. The occasional terrible botch, which rarely gets panned away from, providing a good kayfabe laugh. And wrestlers who have the 'look' of the attitude area, not perfectly sculpted drama queens, and still work their ass off on each TV match. Samoa Joe too, 'nuff said.

I would say the negatives would be sometimes the TV matches are too epic for TV finishes, the "Gut Check" which lets a wrestler try out on TV is hit and miss, the recent baby storyline was just shit all around, and they are really pushing Chavo, someone who I have yet to really believe in such a role. And, yea, other than RVD, Angle, Anderson, Joe, Storm, and AJ Styles, the entrance music is pretty much generic shit.
Opinions are my own.

Certainly looks strange given how long he sported long hair, but not quite as strange as bald/mohawk Taker.

It seems this week RAW is good in terms of matches. Might check it out
