Back to Borderlands because I read the Wiki and found all the cut out material. Apparently the bulk of the story elements were cut out as testers thought it interfered with shootin crap and leveling up.

History of the Planet here: http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/Pandora#History
Helena Pierce's various audio files that describe the backstory of each location:
phpBB [video]

Pierce's files on the critters around Pandora:
phpBB [video]

There's also a good amount of backstory and hierarchy to the bandits, the Kobbs, Marcus Kincaid, etc. that can be found on the Wiki now. (Including an interesting theory as to the true reality of what happens in the game.)

All of which was cut and either left on the disc (the audio files) or stuffed into the official guide.

Also, 2K10 and Guild Wars. Need to get back to Saboteur and Assassin's Creed 2 to finish some day.

Guild Wars is an old game. I remember having my own guild with 12 members. The fun died quickly though since PVP was hard to get into. As for AS 2, I am liking it too much either. It is bit slow for my taste.

Pussy.

SC 2 seems to be much faster than SC 1. I don't like it as much but I am still giving this game a try. No lurker, no medic, no dragoons... WTF...

I was just commenting on it.

It sure was a great game. I guess you play alongside the henchmen, since I doubt there are enough players now days given it's as old as WC 3. Henchmen back then were awful. AI just sucked that they'd rush in and get killed.

There are tons of people playing it. Not having to pay a subscription helps with that.

And it came out three years after WarCraft 3.

Never realized that. But I enjoyed the game so much, I even bought the sequel but never got into it, mostly because I couldn't forward my original account to the new game(made a mistake while registering).

And yeah... free online play definiltey was a plus over other games.

You use the same account for Prophecies and each of the other two campaigns. You just have to create a new character for each campaign.

The sequel, Guild Wars 2, isn't out yet. (2011 probably.)

It was the Guild Wars Nightfall which I bought and failed to transfer the account. By then, I stopped playing the original but missed it so much so had a choice of getting Nightfall or Factions. I don't think it was worth $$$ since I didn't play more than 10 hours. Lolz...

Guild wars 2? I will definitely give it a go. I will let you be the captain of my guild, benji.

The zergling/zealot rush tactic is a foundation for other tactics as you go on in the match, which usually involves rushing with higher tech units. It's a basic 'l33t' strategy (so you're not a noob :P ). It's somewhat of a requirement if you go against some of them damn Koreans. My favorite is a zealot-dragoon/dark templar rush. It's either a dragoon or templar depending on what units the opponent produces.

(According to the developer media releases) The equivalent of dragoons are in SC2 - Stalkers and Immortals. I think medics are no more because them marines have some heal upgrades or something. Lurkers are still in the game and I think Ultralisk now have the ability to burrow and shite.

I'm not even playing SC2 anymore. Beta doesn't have vs CPU mode to practice but only has PVP which I find not worth the stress/trouble to be good at this game.

I know usually, the sequel doesn't usually pan out to be better than the original and sadly it's the case with SC series. Ain't worth 10 years of waiting for sure.

Finally got a hold of The Force Unleashed even with all the bad reviews. :| Just had the feeling that I should play this game, then someway past the game I realized that the Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy games are way more enjoyable than the Force Unleashed. They should have made this into KOTOR3.

I was gonna get it at some point too, since I really miss Star Wars games, especially since several patches apparently made this one more enjoyable on PC. But it's hard to get past the mediocre reviews and the 30GB of space needed for it.
So Lean, you're saying that it's nowhere as good as Jedi Knight and it's not worth it?

To me at least. The first time I heard about TFU I was all nuts expecting the same greatness as that of KOTOR 1 and 2, and Jedi Knight II and Jedi Academy.

The in-game dialogues are inaudible, the framerates drop drastically that I should restart the game every level (plus the Star Destroyer level sucks monkey balls, doing the whole thing for more than an hour but still unable to pull the damn ship down. The game tells me to face the Destroyer up only to pull it down.). I actually played this for well, I am a Star Wars fan. And the games they released recently (Lego Star Wars included) are all enjoyable, while this is purely hack-and-slash. I was also expecting some elements from older action games wherein there are puzzles to be solved but meh. You just hack your way out.

Hell, Vader is easy as cake compared to another boss earlier in the game.

And the main character is exaggeratedly powerful.

There is also a time in-game wherein the character (Starkiller) is talking to his pilot (via comlink, Juno Eclipse) and you hear Starkiller respond but his mouth does not open at all.

All the other visual candy (Euphoria, DMM, and Havok) are great additions to the game, and probably those are the ones slowing the game down. The gameplay should be revamped from zero since it was pretty linear from the start. They should mind the gameplay since all the visual candy can just be carried over.

There's also one level wherein all Imperial enemies that you can think of are in ONE ROOM. Including two AT-STs. Just ridiculous. :shake:

And I'm still playing through Green Day Rock Band (surprised?) and MAG still.

NBA 2K10, Super Mario 64, Halo 3, and Super Mario Galaxy, even though I should probably being playing the sequel instead. I'd rather beat both games in order though, so I'll start with the first. I picked it up about a month or two ago, got the first few stars, but hadn't found the time for it since. Now that I do have the time to play it, I can't believe how much I overlooked this game. Every galaxy continues to find some way to "wow" me, so I have very high expectations for the sequel once I purchase it.

Just bought Metro 2033 at 50% off on Steam, didn't get great reviews but I'm a big fan of the STALKER series and it's made by its original developers.

Absolutely. (Y) I spent damn near an hour last night trying to get the 100-coin star in Shifting Sand Land, but at the same time this game goes down as one of the greatest games of all time in my book.

The only level in 64 that I despise playing is Wet-Dry World. It seems like you're too confined to have any fun whatsoever. As for the water levels, the music is just too calm and nostalgic to hate playing them.

That and the Zelda games in 64 are the only games I played on that console. Hell I even remember the Luigi rumor that created some fuss from that game. And I also remembered beating the game but when the cutscene played, my cousin literally dropped his leg on the cartridge -- restarting the game.

I was also able to play Mario 64 on the DS. I'd still say it's a great touch to add more levels from the N64 version.

I'd recommend Metro 2033 to anyone who's a fan of "close quarters" types of FPS. The game is absolutely gorgeous in a bleak kind of way, I mean its visuals are actually as good as Crysis, and its general atmosphere is fantastic.

Just finished Metro 2033, which was really cool, although too short. Not sure why it went so much under the radar when it got released, it has by far the best visuals I've ever seen in a game. With "very high" settings, the lighting and shadow effects are just mindblowing. Plus it's scary as fuck at times.

Other than that, Steam is doing its thing right now with some crazy ass bargains for the summer, so I downloaded GTA IV - Episodes from Liberty City. Pretty cool so far, but the controls feel less responsive than in the original game for some reason, especially with the keyboard.
