Stop using text on sigs. It's definately your BIG weakness. Look at other people's sig and look at their font. Get ideas from them. You are rushing everything, if you would just take your time and perfect ONE sig, then you'd be taking a big step.

Instead of discouraging him, I'd rather see him use type. Graphic design isn't just graphics, there's text - and there's always text as far as I'm concerned.
Nbalive744, you seriously need to put in the same amount of time in your font choices as you put into your graphics. Your graphics have improved significantly, but you might even spend just as much time putting in the type. As a typographer (yes, I just graduated from an advanced typography course - I can use that title
), I spend a shitload of time browsing through various kinds of fonts and styles, sizes, kerning, weights, positioning, and if needed, effects. Those that I've mentioned, you need to really emphasize if you want to be a better graphic designer.

I actually don't mind the non-text Al Harrington sig, it's half-decent....
But when you put text on it
Stay away from the blocky text... use kinda some curly wavey shit and make it the same colour as the sig but a darker shade (if the sig colour is light) or lighter shade (if the sig is a darker shade)

Yes thats why I "quit photoshop" and I think you should also. Im not trying to be mean but your not really going anywhere. 
Maybe take 2 weeks on an amazing sig then take 2 hours on a ok one.

What I dont like, is that the Al text, placement is so messed up, but I can't do anything about it, I tried moving the Al text around so much, but no luck in finding a good spot to put it
