The Crew has PC listed apparently.

I don't get how it's "the first massively multiplayer driving game". There was Test Drive Unlimited (which I had enormous amounts of fun with before my connection turned to a shitty high-latency fest) and Test Drive Unlimited 2. But really happy to hear it's coming to the PC. Mostly because I want to get an Xbox One controller for my PC (rumbling triggers with adjustable resistance? TAKE MY MONIEZ!), and something tells me it's not going to work on the PS4. As in my current X360 controller for Windows is the ONLY controller my friend's PS3 refuses to recognize.

You can buy 3 month package so it's not that bad. I'm sure they have 1 month online pass too, so you can get it when ever you feel like playing online. Plus you can play the free-to-play games online with no multilayer restrictions. Overall I don't think it's a bad deal.

It's fairly reasonably priced compared to Xbox Live, as well. Anyone who's not a big online gamer, such as myself, could probably opt for a shorter, non-renewing subscription if the mood ever struck.
Thu Jun 13, 2013 9:43 am
Like Jao noted, you didn't have to look around very hard to get Xbox Live cards for super cheap and bank like six years worth of a subscription. Sometimes they're given away like candy and you can get five years for less than $100.
Sony already has been selling PS+ cards:
http://www.amazon.com/Playstation-Plus- ... B004RMK5QG and I'm sure those have seen deals like XBL cards though not owning a PS3 I've never paid much attention.
Thu Jun 13, 2013 9:49 am
I never paid attention, but I do know right now Best Buy has the year ones for $10 off and the 3 months for $5 off if you are at least a free rewards zone member

So it was just fine for you when MS was charging you for online multiplayer with the 360 but now that Sony is doing the same at the same price? for the new console you get pissed off?

Why would it bother you when you don't play online multiplayer regularly anyway.
Logic.

EDIT: lol thanks.

Yep. I also could live with it. It's not like I played online that much on PS3 anyways even though it's free. If it's a feature that most of us will not make use out of, I am not against the idea of "make those who use the feature pay".

I only bought xbox live gold two times, and couldn't use features like netflix last fm etc. that they offered back then cause it was not available in my country, and i don't buy it anymore anyway cause i get to play multiplayer about 1-4 times per month. I am student, i study in another city and i only come back home for sundays.I don't want any other features, i just want to play multiplayer, why should i play it regular anyway, i should be able to play it whenever i want. PS2 had free multiplayer, PS3 did, and now i have to pay 5$ for most of these features that i probably won't use anyway and i do get to play online like 1 or 4 times per month max? I don't know maybe i am just bitter that i missed current generation of sony and its free multiplayer, oh well

, for me thats a ripoff

I agree with you it sucks, which is one of many reasons I'm PC-first, but there's no way Sony wouldn't monetize this after Microsoft more than paid off all their issues this gen from XBL revenues. All things considered, if $40 a year for PS+ is the price to pay for all the other advantages we've seen so far, I think that's a solid price. Especially if Sony maintains providing the free games.
Obviously in your situation so far I'd lean towards no, but PS4 would still be my choice console out of what we've heard. Even without multiplayer.
In my situation...Haswell and the GeForce 800 series come first no matter what.

how about getting a shot at ps3, cause i always was craving to play Uncharted series, and they said that ps3 multiplayer will still be free when ps4 drops

That's likely going to be a dillema I will have once again.
I spent about $1600 building a gaming rig several years ago on Q6700, 4GB DDr3, and HD4870 graphic card, with overclock/CrossFire capability and a 27inch monitor. Should I do this again or stick to a console.
I will probably end up doing both again sadly at some point. *shrugs

Oh, I thought you were interested in/talking about the new consoles. Me personally on the console front, yeah, I'm headed to the PS3 and 360 bins to pick up cheap stuff that were exclusives.

I only cracked $1000 last time (2008) because I had to give up on ASUS boards to just buy a Gigabyte one that worked. And I needed a new case and power supply. (Though since I've changed and added monitors, more HDs, some more RAM I got supercheap, went from 8800 to 560.)
My plan has been to grab a new mobo and Haswell plus RAM. Then try to keep with the 560 (I'm totally CPU limited as is) until a 860 or 860 Ti comes out and hits that sweet spot price-wise. Try to keep my HDDs (already have 2TB main drive for example, and a 500GB external and a 500GB internal plus other left over drives of various sizes) and monitors. (And DVD/CD-RW drives since lol why do I need disk drives anymore except for legacy crap and backup purposes. Or the occasional burning something for the car since I play mp3 CDs in there still.)
Only concern is with my case because I don't know if i needs to get a little bit bigger to fit certain graphic cards. I'd probably just get the current updated version of what I have now (P183 i think) if it came to that. And maybe power supply though I'm probably nowhere near half of it nobody ever understands them so you never know anything about it.
Based on the estimated prices, the mobo+CPU+RAM maybe case sounds like it MIGHT top out around $500-600. I think the just below top notch Haswells are supposed to be $290? Should check again. Then say $150-200 for a board if you feel generous then whatever RAM you can pickup for around $100. (I think last time I checked 16GB was at times doable around $110-120ish.) Then I wait for the 860 whatever to fall around $200. Maybe SSD down the road.

As much as i would like to have a new console, the only game that gets my attention is Metal Gear Solid. There are just so many games of the current generation that i would like to get a shot at. Despite the fact that ps4 has Gaikai cloud service that somehow in the near future will be able to run games of all of the previous generation of PS consoles. it might work the way ps2 pc emulators do which require very powerful hardware to run it at a decent frame rate. We'll see how it pans out.

As Radical Entertainment laid off 250 employees, I was able to pick up three desktops which they were using through my buddy and all of them came in P183 cases. They are quite ugly(but huge). But the main problem is with USB ports which seem to be really weak. On two of my units I got for my brother, they aren't usable anymore except the ones in the back.
I'm using Antec 900 and 750 watts powersupply at the moment. They look awesome but is still a mid size tower so HD 4870 barely fit and 750 watts were definitely overkill/overpriced. I got 3 HDDs in total of 2.5 TB with about 8 fans making noise, lol. I used to be a huge PC guy but not sure if I want to go through the hassle all over again to keep up with ever rising gaming requirement. Thinking to give in and simply pay for the console and just pick up a cheap pre-built desktop if I ever feel the needs to upgrade.

Ugly? UGLY?!? If the close the door it's a fucking sweet ass black box. I can see the spoiler on the top fan though. Plus it vibrates loose every two weeks.
The USB ports might not be properly plugged into the mobo, mine were mislabeled. Although the front headphone ones on mine only work half the time (this may be driver issue) so i just used an extension to plug into the back instead. Though now that I think about it, sometimes I gotta replug stuff in the front USBs to get it recognized by Windows. (Maybe because I have like seven things plugged in the back.)
Though this is a P180 (or 181 or 182 I forget) case.
I don't use the 3.5 inch drives and when I got the case originally Antec had a problem where they didn't know which fans were defective and which weren't, so they sent six with every case instead of three and I installed all of them. (You can fit two on each side of the 3.5 inch drive bay to create a wind tunnel onto the first PCI-Ex16 slot.) I only had to replace one after like four years.
Doing PC is easier than ever. Everythings color coded, and labeled properly, and it's easier to run with legacy parts than ever. (I want to stop here for a second because this to me is like the greatest achievement in PCs in my life. Even though I KNOW the ports, just being able to see the color around them when plugging in shit I can semi-see because my arm is reaching in behind this desk. And telling dopes where to plug in their shit. So much easier.)
And you don't have to "keep up" as much really since half the games are console ports and another third are hott indie titles. We went seven fucking years this gen. I could punt to Haswell after nabbing the cheap extra RAM and 560 despite a E8400 because of this. (Though I needed the 2TB cuz of Steam lol) 2K is the only game that really gives any shit because it's a shoddy port. (And it still more or less does 60 fps at 1080p. Well, when it's not accessing the hard drive too much.) It's only in the last year or so where everyone was saying "we want to next gen but can't, so here's next gen on PC" that I finally had to stop maxing out everything that came out. (Though I had the 8800 for quite a bit past its life so I was sorta used to not maxing AA and AF. And AO especially.) I feel like that's possible again seeing what's in the PS4. Haswell+GF800 til 2016 or more. Then dump in a new graphic card and wait for Intel's next Tock. (Or is that Tick?)
I got caught with a E8400 for longer (will be about five years or so) because I hit a situation where I couldn't do a full upgrade when the i5s/i7s were coming out, and then once I could it was time to just wait for Haswell. (which I think then got a short delay) Then that 560 rolled up at $135 or whatever it was and RAM was cheap so I figured that might help me keep on until Haswell time. Thankfully I've barely ran into anything that doesn't play at least high still. Most stuff still maxes out.
Though processing video and stuff is slow nowdays. Especially after I've seen i3's and i5's do the same tasks. The $400 replacement laptop (my old ones monitor is sorta dying) that's coming on Friday is tiny as shit and will run circles around my processor with its i5, so it gets that duty from now on.

Possible. By 2016, I expect to be able to pick up PS4 for $299 though, at least at some point.
But I can see your point and this really will be a dillema down the road. I can do both like in this gen but didn't think I got my money's worth, lol.

Most are hooked to LOL/WOW , and couple dopes still on Dota which I don't play anymoa. Some take detour and try out stuff like borderland and Diablo, but not for too long.
And COD is the most overrated piece of shit in today's world imo. They'll release pretty much the same game every year because there are gamers today that think it's the Kobe of the FPS genre. My generation was more about original Counter Strike then some moved onto Team Fortress. which I never bothered to. Online FPS is sorta dead to me now. I've had fun back in the days mostly because 20 of us would get together to play it. I just don't think playing online FPS at home alone can ever compete with the experience I had. Probably same with most genres including Dota stuff. I just moved on and so did a lot of my friends.
Since then I became more of a single player guy. Mostly I like to just sit back and enjoy good storyline and animation.
