I haven't played GT6 in a couple of weeks so I can't exactly remember. I've got the game working now so I'm trying to figure it out.

Which events are you having trouble with? I've done everything except for the Karts, 2/3 of the 600PP, the Super GT300 and super GT500 events.


For the GT World Champs I used the Toyota 7. The first race at Bathurst is the hardest of the series so don't worry if you don't win it. You can always come back and win it later.

You can probably get most of the money spent on the car back from winning the series. I've got over 8.5m credits and I've bought a few cars worth over 1-2 million.

Gradually making my way thrugh the Career Mode. I unlocked the GT World Championship but I'm in no rush to complete it. The Ridge Racer style of making your way from the back of the pack in a 2-5 lap race makes it tricky now that the difficulty has ramped up.

Yeah, I hate how with the rolling starts the guy leading from the beginning can do like half a lap before you even reach the start line.

Unfortunately I finished 6th at mount panorama and kept going because you said it was the hardest of the series and won 1st twice and 2nd to tie the Minolta heading into nurburgring. Then I shit the bed and got 6th which was still good enough for silver cup overall. What's the prize car for gold?

I'm not sure if you get a car for winning it or not. The prize money is pretty decent though.

You also unlock a video (the ending credits rolling over some highlights of Kaz driving a lap of the Nurburgring 24 hour race), and get two new songs for the soundtrack.

Did you get the GT Academy one? I played the demo and participated but didnt get the car.

Nope, I don't have the Academy car. Have you got the new Corvette from the seasonal event yet? Tunes up to like 900bhp I think.

I've noticed that a lot of cars can be tuned higher than in previous games. I've got several 1000bhp+ cars in my garage.

yeah i got the new stingray concept. havent tried it yet. ive been relying on the 15th anniversary cars that i got for free. what kind of cars do you need to compete in the super races? are there any rally races? i miss those

I can only think of three cars that I've used for the super events. Toyota 7, ZZII and a Peugeot 908 Base Model. All the races are basically endurance races, no rally stages. I actually thought having 24 minute race versions of the real life 24 hour races was kind of clever.

The hard part in these events is knowing when to pit and which tyres to use. There were some good advice threads on GTPlanet that I used to help me win some of these.

I think that's what I used. If the PP is 750 I would have used the Toyota 7 instead of the ZZII. And if it goes overnight I would have used the 908. I get confused because I did most of the races over a few days a few weeks ago and it's a bit blurry

One thing I do remember though is that you should turn your downforce as low as it goes on the Le Mans race because it has lots of straights.

I can't remember the last time I played it. But that is probably more to do with the fact that my PS3 is nearly dead, rather than me being bored with GT6.

Definitely will start playing again if we get some good DLC. Plus there are races I still need to do.

Got a new PS3 today and I'm planning to spend a lot more time playing this. Been months since I stopped doing races properly because my old PS3 would randomly reset itself. Time to make some money and increase my garage.

Just need for these 5.5gb of updates to download and install first..

I fired this up for the first time in a while the other day. It was fun and they added quite a bit of content but man, I am rusty! Bought a FXX and can't even drive it. Probably go back and complete some lower level races.

Brake Caliper Paint
It is now possible to repaint the brake calipers on cars equipped with [Racing Brakes] purchased within the [Suspension] menu of [Tuning Parts]. Please note there are certain cars that cannot be repainted using this feature.

More Car Number Customization Options
More cars have been made compatible with the [Driver Number] feature in the [Garage]. There is also an increased selection of [Base] sheet designs on which the numbers can be displayed.

Engine brake reduction control on formula cars disabled
Engine brake reduction control that was active on certain formula cars has been disabled. This is a feature that helps you avoid spinning out from excessive braking forces generated by the engine while the throttle is in the off position. This was accomplished by slightly opening the throttle while cornering even with no input to the accelerator.

Update 1.12 is out

The new track they added is pretty cool. Basically just winds it's way around a big lake. It's longer than the Nurburgring.

Driving the time rally event reminded me of old arcade games with the clock running down and the voiceover lady chirping away every time you overtake someone. Good money for winning it as well.
