The Letting Off Steam Thread

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

I do use direct passing, almost on every pass - even when it's not necessary, been doing that for years. But that's not the point. It's a freakin bug that makes a LOT of passes simply not connect for whatever reason.

I wanna pass to my PF in the post with not much defensive pressure, press direct pass + Y (on the xbox) and the guard just throws it like four feet to the left, dude can't catch it and it sails into the crowd.

If it'd happen once a game I wouldn't complain, but it happens a lot to me. Inbounds passes, post entry passes, fast break passes - just completely off by the passer. With direct passing.

I hhven't played a game yet with increased pass accuracy, though, it's somewhere at 45 I at the moment, I think.

Buzzy, I must say you may be playing a different game than the rest of us. There are probably some sliders that you edited that you haven't taken into account because this is the first I have heard of this issue.

Yeah, that's never happened to me either. Seems to happen to you too often, so it has to be your settings.

You can always play NBA Elite? Oh wait...

Fucking hate the sim engine.

It's 2016. The Suns (I) are about to make the playoffs for the first time since Steve Nash retired.

My stars are Jared Sullinger, Armand Drummand, and some other guy.

2 games before playoffs, my sixth man, Serge Ibaka gets injured for 6-8 weeks.

1 game before the playoffs, Sullinger tears his ACL. Out for season. I then get sweeped.

Stupid sim engine...

that's not the sim engine's fault......that's just bad luck

if that happened every year, then its the sim engine's fault, if Adam Morrison leads the league in any stat other than splinters in the ass, that would be the sim engine's fault.

2 major injuries before the playoffs? your fault....why were you playing your starters? switch up the rotations to protect your players

I agree, though having said that after a run of bad luck like that I'd probably want to let off some steam too.

funny you mention that. I simmed five seasons on Live 03 and suddenly I find Ammo with an 86 overall rating averaging 23 points per game along side Tyreke Evans in Sacramento, while my 85-overall rookie had cartilage damage in his knee and missed the remainedr of the season.

That was actually JaoSming who wrote that. ;) In any case that doesn't surprise, developing players was pretty easy back in Live 2003.

Funny, I just found out that if you highlight stuff from someone's post (Jao's post), but accidentally click on a different quote button (the one on your post), it comes up as your text.

I wonder how many times I've screwed that up?

If you're using the Quote buttons on the posts in the reply window, there's no need to highlight anything. Easier to just click the button to quote the whole post and then snip as necessary.

Sharp cuts to the basket by the receiver, fucking a!

Play them less than half a game (23 minutes) once your ready to go into the playoffs. Also, giving more minutes to players who have low durability ratings will get them closer to being Yao'd or Oden'd for the season. I always take into consideration Durability when setting minutes for starters. The level of your Trainer is also a factor on how long your players stay injured.

I'm no longer allowed to clock over to department manager since my store moved to a new district and the guy in charge caught it and explained that there was no "liquor manager" position anymore, but a "wine steward" which was only available in certain stores. $5 less per hour, and ~$200 less per week. Son of a fucking bitch.

Lame. (N) Are you thinking of moving on to something else or is there another position in the store where you can make up that pay again?

My name will definitely be mentioned for a supervisor position, and eventually grocery manager is also a possibility. Both pay even more than the wine steward position, too.

Currently reading a debate on another forum in which a poster has declared that morals make objective claims, cannot prove those claims objectively, and thus do not exist.

It's giving me a headache.

EDIT: Now he's declaring that he needs proof in order to accept another poster's statement that killing people for absolutely no reason on a whim is a sign of insanity. Fucking hell.

Yeah, that is really bad. It's happened to me only once before, but as others have said, try bumping up your pass accuracy slider.

It is fucking cold here in Houston. On Sunday it was in the 70's (farenheit temp.), and today it's in the 30's. Also, a month of not playing basketball, and I lost my jumpshot. I feel like Trevor Ariza. :|

LOL! Wtf was that all about? You surely have a faulty game because that stuff NEVER happens to me. I'm laughing about it now but if that shit happened to me I'd probably break my xbox.

Indeed, what sliders do you use? I've played All-Star + slightly tweaked defaults (interceptions/steals) and now on Superstar...never has that happened to me.

Thanks for the videos though, I thought you were being a little bitch.
