Yep, wondering if I'll cut off tomorrow. Stocked up now though, drinking a Johnnie Walker :P

Was watching the Gold Coast-Wollongong NBL game the other day, and Steve Carfino had the same complaint. Not because people were losing their homes and their lives, but because he was taking his kids out somewhere over the weekend and didn't want it to rain and ruin their day. This was just before Shane Heal recommended fouling while up two with 24 seconds left to ensure getting the last shot. And people wonder why nobody watches the NBL...

Steve Carfino is a loser. I don't like him at all

I don't think I will be heading to work tomorrow. Pretty sure CBD will be flooded overnight. :(

There are some frightening images coming through on the news. It seems to be worse than the Victorian bushfires of a couple of years ago in a lot of ways, because how do you stop it? Anyways, stay safe Queenslanders. I've got some very close friends up there at the moment, and it's all a bit unsettling.

Yep, posted it in Random thread. That's Toowoomba, a few hours away. But that water & more has hit the water systems. Record flood levels over next couple of days likely.

It's definitely a freak event of nature that we have not seen anything like since 1974 and this is projected to be the worst flood in more than 100 years. :( The X may be trapped in his castle but at least he's got supplies and he still has electricity! Others are not so lucky...

The death toll and number of missing people increases with every news report. My brother and his family are up fairly high so they're safe for the moment. They're supposed to be flying down next week, but that's assuming they'll be able to get to the airport.

I'm on a hill so I should be fine. You can check my pics & video taken this morning on Facebook.

I don't think your bro will have any problem getting out. Airport still fully operational, pretty flood resistant.

It's not so much the airport but apparently some of the roads he needs to take to get there. He lives in Eatons Hill, for what it's worth.

Yep, I'd imagine there will be a lot of closed roads around there, as there are everywhere.

No, pretty much fine down here except for a couple of overcast days. We had a bad flood back in 2007 though, nothing like what's going on in Queensland though.

True that.

Well, I think I saw Victoria is getting their own wild weather as well as the Northern part of NSW.

This was the first time. Sit's Association thread was the second time. Teaches him for posting it twice :P And I did drill 4 treys (plus one with foot on line) in a couple of minute period near end of last game, so obviously I had an impact on all the rain.
