Wow that's fucked. The worst thing about being a tech guy (I figure you are too since you build computers) is that when something like that happens it's nearly pointless going to an "expert" because they won't have much more of an idea than you will.

I gotta admit that I get annoyed very easily when it comes to formatting drives (hopefully it won't come to that though), reinstalling Windows and all that time-consuming shit, so I'll probably play the lazy card and go to my usual computer shop, where the guys are ten times the geek that I am... :geek:

My Madden game got scratched to hell when i moved my xbox (i fucked up and forgot to take it out) and it ended up freezing in the 1st quarter repeatedly. Went to gamestop and they told me i was pretty fucked. Went to local video store and got them to run it through a resurfacer. Still didn't fucking work. Went back out, traded in madden, returned the disc cleaner they sold me and "returned batman" then went across the street to the mall to the other gamestop and got another copy of batman, Assassin's Creed II, and FF XIII. Fucking annoyed though.

You should've

Rented Madden from Blockbuster (keeping the same madden you fucked up)
Installed it onto your hard drive
And put it in the fucked up Madden

It would've worked, either way Lazer Burn sucks ass :shake:

Have fun. Mine starts in 2 days. And I am heading down to the room I rented tonight. On the bright side, my roommate is a girl.

Tomorrow for me. On the bright side, just 7 days of classes before exams start. Funny, I like our exams because we take our exams from 7:00-11:00 am, and then go home. Also exams are always easier than the classes themselves. We then pretty much have most of a week off and then new classes start. And then it's my brithday! That's how my January goes.

How does that work, z02? Exams on the first week of new semester? And 7 days of classes without weekends?

Re: The Letting Off Steam Thread

Mon Jan 03, 2011 6:23 am

Our 1st semester doesn't end until later in the month.

We have all this week, then Monday and Tuesday of next week, all normal classes. THEN exams start. After the exams, we have a couple days off and then the 2nd semester starts.

I hate how in 2k11, when playing on Pro me and my opponent seems matched, switched to All-Star, opponent doesn't even miss a single range jumper. Must be my bad defense or something

Re: The Letting Off Steam Thread

Tue Jan 04, 2011 1:29 am

then just stick with Pro? If the defense is too easy to score on, try playing with the sliders to make it harder.

This is the general steam thread. You can post things like that in the 2K general section.

Jaosming is right. You can increase sliders in pro or decrease them on all star. I personally went with all star because the cpu plays harder during end game situations and makes better adjustments in their strategy.

That's how my school does it too

I guess a lot of schools here in the US do it that way. It's stupid, though, we get three months of summer vacation, but they can't bump back school two weeks, so we could have our exams before winter. Although, now I think about it, it's nice, cuz my mom won't bitch at me next week about studying for all my exams because she'll be AT WORK! :D

Re: The Letting Off Steam Thread

high school or college? in high school, we would get the 2-3 weeks off for xmas, mlk off, and then at the end of january we have finals. in college, i was on the quarter system (3 quarters a year since people don't really do summer school. i did a few summer classes to get ahead) and it would go from end of sept to december, winter xmas break, january to march/april, april to june. everyone else i know in semesters in college do/did late august to mid december, january to end of may.

I'm still in high school, but I'm graduating in June!

I have to check whether or not we've got MLK Day off this year. I
m sure that we do, cuz we always do, but that means my last exam's bumped back to Tuesday instead of monday!
