Damn...looks like the mod I installed a couple of weeks back has curbed most of it but some are still getting past. I'll have to investigate further measures. At least it doesn't seem to be allowing newly registerd spambots to activate themselves.

If its no trouble, could someone please delete this topic i made..

I thought of an alternative.

BigKaboom2: It doesn't seem to match, but I'll keep a lookout..

Some mod please lock this shitty topic and maybe leave a link to the music thread. It doesn't make no sense at all to have such a spamfest going on when there's already a huge topic for music discussion.

Fri Feb 23, 2007 7:26 am

I don't want to see the Music thread filled with that spam.....seemed like a topic that could be left alone harmlessly.

Thanks, bigh0rt. (Y)

can we make the bumping rules more clear? like do not bump for at least 24 hours? seen way too many needless bumps lately...

Wed Feb 28, 2007 5:43 pm

where abouts?

Wed Feb 28, 2007 6:31 pm

can someone please delete this topic. i dont want it sitting around on the site when no-one will look at it or are able to post on it.

....and illini what are bumps?

Thu Mar 01, 2007 12:47 am

scoop bumps are when you repost in your own thread to move it to the top of the list. But people are doing it: A)in less than 24 hours of posting a topic B) when theyre at the top of list pretty much anyway....i'm sick of thinking theres a new when some retard asking a stupid question is just too impatient to wait on an answer.

Thu Mar 01, 2007 10:47 am

We are currently drafting revisions to the forum rules, including more clearly defined bumping rules.

Thu Mar 01, 2007 3:37 pm

illini, ok thanks for telling me that

Thu Mar 01, 2007 6:30 pm

Thanks Andrew and the rest of the staff, i gotta say even when i was a noob if i asked something here it got done or answered quickly to why it was not done. Thanks for being on top of things (Y)

If you let me know which threads your talking about illini I will check them out and give out warnings if need be. Just PM if you'd like.

Sat Mar 03, 2007 8:46 pm

if you would like to do this. I think you should make the "new dynast list" in the nba live dynasty and franchise stories section "sticky"

it has a list of new, updated dynasties and it is always being updated

Sun Mar 04, 2007 10:28 am

Q's already stickied that thread, so I've taken down the old ones.

Sun Mar 04, 2007 10:31 am

Looks like the measures we added have curbed them but unfortunately haven't stopped them completely. I'm currently looking at a couple of other mods that offer additional protection.

Well, that question you have for registering, are you human?

Instead of that, why not ask like what does B in NBA stand for. And make it a blank field that you have to type in. Also make it so that if they answer the question wrong once, they can't attempt to sign up again. An example of a forum that does this.

The additional step I've been considering adding is similar to that, though it uses random characters the same as a lot of web forms you see these days.
