I hate all the auto-tune crap in hip-hop. it just destroys the quality of it.

What's with all the "beef" between Jay-Z and The Game?

Wasn't the game "dissed" on some gameshow where his ugly ass GF dumped him for some other dude? Can you really insult anyone after going through something like that? Honestly?

lol what i see in this thread so far is that you guys are arguing with a guy who likes auto-tune(Tee-Pane)
I dont hate auto-tune, but I dont favor it too
What I see coming outta auto-tune isnt realistic shit.....You hear guys literally using that shit to cover up their awful lyrics and mouth off about their wealth and all that stupid stuff
See if someone used auto-tune to sing about heartbreak(like Kanye West),I'm perefectly fine
But if gonna just talk about being the shit and poppin cristal and lickin lollipops and tellin people the wrong shit(Lil Wayne, etc.), that shit I aint gonna listen to
The bigger picture here is how hip hop is gonna be better......
Well we gotta better ourselves....we're hip hop
We control what we listen to
If we wanna cover ourselves with superficial stuff, we gonna listen to that crap
Just listen to this song by Mos Def http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BEg38-bWY8
You will learn a lot

Pfft. Hip-Hop is doing just fine. Guys like Wayne and T-Pain aren't Hip-Hop. They're Pop. Everything with auto-tune in it isn't Hip-Hop. It's Pop.

There are still so many talented artists out there and 2009 produced some of the best albums I've heard in ages.

And by the way, you need to get your facts straight. Auto-tune isn't used to cover up awful lyrics. Wayne's lyrics have always been terrible, with or without auto-tune. And those retards who listen to his music don't care. It's not like he tricked them with the auto-tune. People who listen to dudes like Wayne don't give a flying fuck about lyrics in the first place. Auto-tune is really just used to cover up the lack of talent. Fact. Anyone who uses auto-tune is either not able to sing properly or just a copycat jumping on the bandwagon. Fact.

Could you give me some examples of good albums from 2009? Would love to listen to some new things but I guess there were only like three albums so far I liked. Maybe you have something I dont know.

For example (off the top of my head):

K-Os - Yes!
Mos Def - The Ecstatic
AZ - Legendary
K'naan - Troubadour
Mr. Lif - I Heard It Today
The Grouch & Eligh - Say G&E!
MF Doom - Born Like This
Chali 2na - Fish Outta Water
Slaughterhouse - Slaughterhouse
Method Man & Redman - Blackout! 2
Atmosphere - Leak At Will
CunninLynguists - Strange Journey Vol. 1
Wu-Tang Clan - Chamber Music

Plus there is a pretty awesome list of albums yet to be released in the near future.

Pretty good list. I am especially suprised with the Chali 2na release since I really like this guy and did not know anything about a release this year.
Troubadour, Say G&E and The Ecstatic were the 3 LPs I liked, although I expected more from Mos Def.

I really like Atmosphere and Cunninlynguists, kind of missed out on their albums. I will definitely give them a shot.

Thx for your list ;)

You gotta check K-Os' "Yes!". Groundbreaking album and a masterpiece of modern, innovative indie/alternative Hip-Hop. By far the best album of 2009.
