Nevermind; I just didn't have the AV cable in all the way. It probably has about a month left in it yet.

As long as the screen's not cracked (or anything superficial isn't damaged,) they should replace it.

I return to my status as the forum's sole Zune advocate. Although my first Zune was faulty too.

Ugh, my 360 just crashed on me again in the middle of Hotel California in Guitar Hero World Tour, so looks like I'll have to play that entire gig again. Not impressed.

Well, from what I've seen so far, I really like Zune more than iPod overall, but I gotta say if the battery its fucked up and I only get 2-3 hours of music before it dies, I'm kinda screwed.

I bought it new from Amazon but I didn't keep the invoice, so I don't know...It's charging right now, so I'm hoping for a Xmas miracle, maybe it was just a one-time issue...

well i'm back after a long hiatus. my laptop was out of commission due to over heating issues and i pretty much had one day a week to use the internet plus i had crazy holiday hours at work. got the comp kinda fixed, i gotta use a portable hard drive as the main one now and the graphics card doesn't really work but everything else seems to be fine, which is good enough for me. only thing is that the internet browsers are a little slow on the scrolling but that's only a minor inconvenience.

but yeah chrstmas this year was probably one of the worst ive had, simply because back home nothing really changes and this coming off of the best xmas last year, it was quite disappointing. but it's good to be back.

Almost fucked up my computer yesterday with some overclocking gone bad...
I forgot that Core 2 Duo/Quad CPUs have the "SpeedStepping" feature, so that they don't run at full speed when it's idle, and that tricked me into thinking that it was only running at 1.6Ghz instead of 2.4. So I increased it from the BIOS, but turns out my motherboard is pretty crappy when it comes to overclocking and it locked everything, and I could not reboot or even access the BIOS anymore. Managed to fix it with the magic "F8" key...Anyway, almost gave me a heart attack.

Oh man, right now I am at a hospital doing my civilian service ... this will last until June and is a stupid job (caretaker's assistant) with 40h of work per week but only 10 bucks a day (!).

So that sucks anyway. But my major problem is that I have to look for a course of studies right now since I have to apply in mid June. And I just cannot find any nice course that Id like to do at the university of my hometown. So I may have to go to the next city, which is Munich .. about 40 miles away from where I live (Augsburg).
But I dont want to leave Augsburg, and I wont find a cheap apartment in Munich anyway. Commuting would suck hard, takes about 1h per train and 1h back and is quite expensive.
Further my girlfriend wants to study in Augsburg and is afraid of loosing me if I study in another city.

THAT DRIVES ME MAD !!! damn fucked up situation :wall:

today it was announced that the company I work for, Circuit City is going out of business and liquidating its assets. i put my 2 weeks notice in to quit earlier this week before it was announced, so i was planning on leaving already but it's still kinda sad. plus, all these damn people looking for deals call in and are rather insensitive that people are losing their jobs.

good thing i was already on my way out. should be moving to Las Vegas in a couple weeks becuase the cost of living is so much cheaper over there. i could live off of minimum wage out there.

Sounds like you're getting out just in time. Definitely unfortunate for anyone planning on working there a bit longer though.

Sorry to hear that. Hope things get better soon.

I woke up to some bad news this morning as my friend called to let me know that his father passed away last night. It wasn't unexpected as he's been battling cancer for the last few years or so and undergone several operations to remove tumours but unfortunately a couple of inoperable tumours came back in his brain last year. He beat the odds as they weren't sure he would make it through Christmas and he underwent an emergency procedure last year to give him a shot at making my friend's wedding in September (which he obviously did) but he hasn't been too good the last month or so. It's good in a way that he's finally at peace because he was suffering greatly with the pressure headaches but needless to say awfully tough on my friends and his family.
