I haven't been posting at the NLSC, because I have just two weeks left of school, then I have to get ready for the PSU, and because this place isn't as fun as it used to be. But maybe that has to do with me checking the forums only on Fridays. Well, hopefully that'll change soon.

not really a letting steam off thread, but just wanted to share. it's snowing like shit outside right now, so i just grabbed a handful of snow, came back inside and made a slushy. anyone know the health hazards, if there are any? lol.

As a coach Cable, i'd say go talk to the coach and try to find out what you can work on for the future to have a chance to make the team....they dont cut people cuz they want to ya know?

Yeah, I know, that's what I did last year when I cut. I'm going to try to talk to him within a couple days. As for being cut, I think it was more of a case that they couldn't decide between my and my friend, so they took neither.

I got a fuckin C in physics on my report card. Damn teacher, TEACH SOMETHING BITCH! I hate that shit. I went online and all kinds of stuff and made a set of notes for myself cuz he don't teach shit and the notes don't even help me.

My dad needs to get his ass back to work or else we're not gonna have a Christmas period. All my mom does is borrow money from people because she can't support all of us and it makes me feel real uncomfortable.

yeah in my freshman year, they cut me but the varsity coach (that handles the cuts all all teams [vars., jr vars, frosh/soph, and freshman teams]) told me he wanted to keep me around in the program as a scorekeeper... so I travelled with the team to keep score (and thought I would have a leg up next year becuase I helped them out). It was really frustrating not being able to go out there and play with my friends, so I worked hard and when spring conditioning came around (which is after the bball season, preparing for summer league for the next school year) they cut me during spring conditioning.... I didn't even make it to summer league. I was so pissed after that, I quit trying out for HS and played intramural city leagues. Being cut in spring and not getting a chance to make the team really frustrated me and made me think about how the coach didn't like me and all that.
I never got a reason, but I figure it was because I'm not much of an offensive minded player, more like a defensive, hustle player... I did have a slight asthmatic sondtion that would act up once in a while... it's either that or because I'm asian. just don't beat yourself up with the speculation.

from here cable you have two options. let it get the best of you and find somewhere else to play, or grow from it and ome back with a vengeance and make him sorry for cutting you in the first place.

and illini, I doubt the school keeps restrictions on the teams like that. I would say 85-90% of the time, it's up to the discretion of the coach.

This is the second straight year I've been cut by that coach. Don't get me wrong, he's a great coach and I'd love to play for him, but I think there must be something he sees (or doesn't see) in me that I haven't figured out yet. Jeez, I had the best tryouts of my life, played hard, made my shots (which is something; I've always played PF or C up to now, I would have played SF this year), was a leader in all the drills, but I'm still cut. I'm in grade 11 too, not a freshman. I honestly think if the old coach was still coaching (he took a job at Guelph University, still teaches here but not coaching anymore) I would have made it because there's something between me and the new coach that isn't there with any of the other teachers.

... right, I didn't mention this before, a guy in grade 13 made the team, and I'm sure I'm better than him, and I played better in tryouts too. I'm going to have to talk with the coach and find out what the problem is between us. It's funny, cause I get along great with all the other teachers, but not him, and he's a great guy too, not mean or anything like that at all.

Enough with the rant, I'll just have to try harder next year. Man I'm pissed, though.

Why don't you get a job? I assume your mom is working hard trying to support you guys. If your dad won't get a job maybe you should?

Because I have no transportation. I worked some over the summer but the guy I worked for picked me up every morning. If I could drive I think life would be so much more easier. My dad just needs to get off his rocker and realize that my mom can't do everything. I dunno what he's thinking, my sister's in college and I'll be in like 6 months...

Plus our current automobile has a messed up transmission, it was so embarrassing when it gave out on us. We were on our way to Lil Caeser's to get some $5 pizza ( ) when it just stalled out, we couldn't shift gears. The Lil Caeser's employees had to come out and help us because we couldn't get into the parking lot (it was uphill). Me and another guy had to push while another guy pulled it with his truck. We can't pay for the transmission right now.

Eh, I dunno what my dad is thinking. He's been out of work too long and he actually does have a couple options to explore but he keeps putting it off to do (meaningless) stuff around the house.
