True, but that's still easier than having to scan through pages in General Talk or use the search function when you're imbibed and making typos all over the place.

There's no legal drinking age here though, just legal "purchasing" age.

Sorry if I'm wrong, but isn't both? :? For example, like if u are at no parent present party and get drunk under legal drininkin age, the cops do call your parents and stuff!...a bad example, but I hope u understood what i ment!...

No.

You can't purchase alcohol when you're under the "purchasing" age or you'll be fined/community service/counseling/juvy, and the establishment that sold it to you will be fined or subjected to legal action. Your parent/guardian can be subjected to legal action too.

If you are caught drinking alcohol as a minor, the law can't force you to pay fines/community service/counseling/juvy. The parent/guardian are usually called because of "concern" by the cops or the parents/guardians are to face the responsibility of laws here that relate to raising a child (in that case, a minor is still considered a child).

Though there is no legal drinking age, hence it's not illegal if you're still a minor, you can still get in trouble with it because of other laws, like if you walk around the streets while drunk (illegal) at night (illegal, some places have curfews) or serving drinks to a minor (illegal, the minor who only drank will get off the hook, but the server will get in trouble even if the person is a minor - fine/juvy/community service/counseling).

Basically, there is no law here that directly says a minor can't drink alcohol but there are arseload of other laws that prevents anyone from encouraging a minor to drink (although that doesn't stop anybody from doing it).

We have laws that prevent basically everything here, alcohols, cigarettes, etc. None of them works.

Similar situation here in Australia. For some people, the teenage years certainly seem to adopt an "it's only illegal if you get caught" philosophy. There's always around things.

Exactly, there's always a way to get access to these "illegal" stuffs. Either the seller doesn't even care or these kids find other sources to buy from. "Where's there's a will there's a way". A bad situation for that saying to be true though. :shake:

Yeah, but teenagers will be teenagers. There'll always be teenage rebellion, fake IDs, older siblings, parents who have no problem with it and so on and so forth. Like anything else, all you can do is present the straightforward facts and let everyone make their own decisions.

Sorry to disappoint. ;) Very little chance of that happening these days. However, I did post some new NBA Live videos a couple of years back in the early hours of the morning after a heavy drinking binge, though I managed to break through the blurriness and post coherently.

What does being christian and not being able to drink a beer have to do with anything?

Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, And whoever is intoxicated by it is not wise”

I don't consider my rare drinking as a sin. But i feel bad after drinking. Human body doesn't need that crap. It's better to be without alcohol.

I know, I was saying that your being too hard on yourself for having two beers, when even Jesus made wine for his disciples. It's ok that you had those beers. Just stay responsible about it.

Yeah. Dont drive when you're drunk for instance. Causes nothing but trouble for everyone. I'm not saying you do that, but it happens a lot.

It's easy to say that to someone like vinceair since Jesus and his disciples don't have a car (or van) back then.
