I still haven't picked it up again for a while either but as I've mentioned before that's how I've been with previous GTA games. I get stuck then months later I'm in the mood to play it again. Took me four years to finish GTA3 for that very reason.

I've thought about it, it might pique my interest again. I'll see how I feel when it becomes available.

Definitely getting it.
New weapons, characters, bikes and a new story plus enhanced bike controls (the current one actually has grown on me, but nice anyway.) I believe.

I must be around halfway through right now (on PC), and having a good time with it so far. My wife asks me to play it all the time, she loves watching me play the GTA series for some reason...
I just wish they hadn't removed some cool features from San Andreas, mostly when it comes to customizing your character (working out to get bulky, hairdos, tattoos, buying properties, more available clothes and accessories, having to eat...). But besides that and poor performance, that's definitely a very solid game, and it has a stronger storyline this time around.

That's why San Andreas is the best GTA, IMO. GTA IV has better graphics, but there's more to do in SA, plus it has a better soundtrack.

Like you, I play the GTA series non-stop. Just got finished with LCS & VCS, both underrated games, especially VCS. I actually completed "Light My Pyre" on the first try.

Here's a real cool GTA IV vid(PC version):

I'm waiting for a San Andreas, Vice City and old LC (from III) map conversion for IV. That would be pretty epic.

That video was awesome, thanks JeffX. Anyone played the PC version? Can they post their specs and how crappy the frame rate is and what settings they use?

I'm almost done with it on PC.
As "advertised", the performance is embarrassingly poor. I have a GTX260 (896MB), Quad Core Q6600 and 4GB of RAM, and it's certainly far from being a smooth ride. I play at 1680x1050, AFx16, most options to max except for the infamous LOD (not even halfway through) and shadow density, and I managed to make it playable, but at the expense of some eye candy.
With anywhere from 20 to 40 FPS outside (but an average of around 26-28), you'd expect some AA to be enabled, but nope, the engine does not allow it and it looks really cheap and console-ish at times.
Still, the last patch did make the framerate much smoother, and it's certainly a fun game. I just wish they hadn't removed some of the cool features that I mentioned in my previous post, kinda affects the replayability for me...

Well, I guess I might be able to play at a much lower resolution with not much eye candy. I only have a radeon 3850 256mb and Core 2 duo @2.66 with 4gb ram. No reason to make the jump since I still have the 360 version.

I have Quad Core Q6700, 4GB Corsair 5-5-5-5 DDR2 Ram, HD4870 1GB GDDR5 and yet my comp can't handle this game well at max setting. This game obviously demands too much. Maybe I7 & 4870X2 owner can tell us their experience?

DLC Lost and the Damned has been pretty nice and the run-ins with Niko are a nice touch and explains a number of unanswered questions/backgrounds of characters. You find out that your bike gang actually has a lot in common with the original game.
