I was like that on Vice City. I'd spend 15 minutes doing a mission then go steal a motorbike or a cool car and cruise around listening to the 80's stations for an hour.

Been wanting to run a playthrough of all the GTAs too
Been playing Blur/Backbreaker/Red Dead & Rock Band with some Halo in there too if people are online.

Green Day Rock Band just came out a few weeks back - been splitting my time between that & NBA Live

FIFA World Cup 2010 (video game), is pretty good, though sometimes I hate the crap that the CPU pulls out of their ass.

Agreed. They should just make a version with a "living world" where miniature tasks could pop up anywhere just from exploring and cruising. I always end up creating something to do after some car hits me or someone curses at me, because I just start shooting a them, getting the cops to chase me, etc.
Been playing F.E.A.R. 2. It's slightly better than the first, with some different maps instead of just close-quarters offices.

Oznogrd and shadowgrin. Did you guys get passed the mini-game "Whack a Zombie"? I clicked like a mad man, but no luck. Tried twice already.

Yep. My mouse has a button that double clicks in one press. That helps.

Hardware advancements!

strategy, click the harder to kill ones first and let some of the easy ones go a little further.. I've beat it easily with a single click mouse.

Star Wars Galaxies. It's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be nowadays, but some of the quests do get a bit tedious because they lack variety and involve traveling long distances most of the time. Overall, it's a pretty good MMO, but not worth anymore than the 14-day trial in my opinion.

I'd collect the hidden packages the like, often before I start any of the storyline missions.

I really don't try looking for hidden packages, I let them find me. Is the prize always the same in every GTA game for finding all 100?

I like having a full arsenal at my safehouse, instead of driving around looking for pick-ups.

Usually I only get to like 50/60, then that's really when I have to start looking.

Same. It's also a good way to explore and familiarise yourself with the map before starting the missions. Considering some areas can get pretty hazardous once the storyline in some games has you get on the wrong side of a certain gang, it's also much easier to do before anything else. The Mafia in the Portland area of GTA 3 can take you out pretty quickly with their shotguns if you go searching for packages after you're forced to betray them.
Sat Jul 03, 2010 11:12 am
Yeah, I don't go anywhere near Portland in GTA 3, or at least anywhere near Saint Mark's. The gang that really gets on my nerves is the Cartel though.
Sat Jul 03, 2010 11:17 am
Yeah they're tough as well, especially since they're hostile from the first time you really encounter them (and fairly close to your safe house).
Sat Jul 03, 2010 11:29 am
What I like to do is help out the Yakuza in the wars against the Cartel in Fort Staunton. It's pretty intense and entertaining, and every once in a while a Yardie pops into the picture.

Finally got my PSP fixed, so I've been catching up on the releases I've missed. Tekken 6 is amazing, as its pretty much a port of the PS360 version (sans some unwanted features). Also got Gran Turismo, which is pretty lame due to the lack of a career mode (C'mon son). Motorstorm: Arctic Edge is another very solid title (with a decent soundtrack to boot).
N+ remains my favorite portable game ever though.

FlashThat video is making me want to play the PC version again.

Did you play episodes of liberty city?
Tue Jul 06, 2010 4:26 am
yep, loved them, thinking about rebuying them for the PC version truthfully
Tue Jul 06, 2010 5:02 am
Playing The Lost and Damned right now on PC and certainly having fun with it. The missions are all pretty similar but it's funny as shit and the dialogs/facial animations are just brilliant. Can't wait to try the Ballad of Gay Tony.

That's why it's smart to do all the Portland Vigilante missions/collect the packages before 'Sayonara Salvatore'. Two blasts from that Mafia Shotgun, and it's over.

Did you know you can save cars/bikes at Niko, Playboy X & Luis' safehouses? Same with Ballad of Gay Tony, only it's Niko, Playboy X & Johnny's cribs.
