Mark Cuban slams the NBA for sham energy bracelet licensing

phpBB [video]

The rubber bracelets have a distinctive hologram that is "based on Eastern philosophies of health and wellness," according to the company's website. Power Balance bracelets featuring NBA team logos in the hologram are available for $32.99 on the league's official website. However, Cuban said via email Monday that he will not allow the product in the Mavs' locker room. [...]

Cuban hastily dismissed a similar product when watches with holograms were pitched on "Shark Tank," the ABC entrepreneurial reality show on which he stars.

"No, I'm allergic to scams," Cuban said on the February episode of "Shark Tank." "Seriously, this is not new. It's been disproven. What you saw is the placebo effect. There's athletes that wear it. It's a joke. It's a scam. It's not real."

Part of the reason how Mark Cuban grew on me. He is a business man but one with comprehensible sense and passion for the sport at the same time. Shame on David Stern though. Somewhat shows his mindset and attitude on how he's been handling the league.

No doubt a fine is coming, but good for him for speaking out. Not a good move by the NBA; I guess they see it as just another form of paraphernalia they can brand and have teams sell, but they're jumping on the wrong bandwagon with that partnership.

Why a fine?

He's publicly running down a company with which the NBA has partnered. It seems highly likely that the NBA won't appreciate his outspokenness on the matter and dish out a fine accordingly.

I wouldn't be surprised but I have a feeling that the league will try to downplay the incident by handling this behind the closed door. Lol.

Also this is hilarious as hell too.
Mark Cuban's new hope for the Lakers? That they 'continue to make' huge mistakes
Before the Mavericks' season-opening victory over the Los Angeles Lakers last week, Cuban kept it real when he said, "I hope they suck."
...
"That is a quick trigger. But, hey, it's the same thought I have all the time. I hope they have to do it again this season. A couple times. Five times, maybe."
...
"Don't you hate when that happens?" Cuban said. "Nothing surprises me. Every team is different. Every team has its own approach. I just hope it was a huge mistake, and they continue to make them."
