The Dallas Mavericks Thread

Postby Houndy on Mon Oct 11, 2010 6:58 am

The other Mavs thread was from 3 years back, so I decided to make one.

Mavs will beat the Heat in 6 in the Finals. Beaubois will hit the game winning three, Dirk will be MVP, and Caron will resign with the Mavs,
Discuss.

Hoping Carlisle don't use the 3 guard lineup this time around.

If they couldn't do it in 2006 due to the calls Wade was getting - as is the common suggestion - then it's not going to be any easier now that LeBron and his superstar calls have made their way to South Beach. ;)

Wow, Houndy, you have a funny imagination. Like Andrew said, if the Mavs somehow do make the Finals along with the Heat, they won't prevail. :)

I know I do :)

Anyway, does anyone think that Beaubois will be an All-Star this year?

Rookie-Sophomore game All-Star, sure.

Real All-Star? No way in hell, unless all of France votes for him.

If Curry, Williams, Billups, Brooks, Parker, Evans, Nash and Paul all get injured, then yes, there's a small chance.

Rondo, Jennings, Felton, Kidd, etc, would all have to be injured to. Long story short, not likely, unless he starts in front of Jason Kidd and averages 20/10.

No they don't, they're in a different conference. He might get a chance to start nevertheless.

Yeah, I too could see him being selected for the Rookie Challenge but an All-Star berth? Highly unlikely.

As much as I like the Beaubonic plague, I'd be surprised if he averaged 10 PPG this season.

He played, but they lost to the Cavs at home.

Who do you prefer as the starting Center for the Mavericks?

Chandler or Haywood?

Haywood. Having Chandler come off the bench as an 'energy' guy will help the team and Chandler himself from being prone to injury.

Chandler. Since when was Chandler an 'energy' guy off the bench. Haywood is rather more used to play off the bench anyways.

Since being injured for almost half the season for two consecutive years and maybe as a precaution from him getting injured for half of the season again?
ZanShadöw wrote: help the team and Chandler himself from being prone to injury.

ZanShadow is so stupid that ZanShadow has to repeat himself. Or maybe ZanShadow forgot to read again like he always does?

More used to play off the bench? From a guy who removed a part of Etan Thomas' hair in a scuffle becaue he lost the starting job to Thomas while they were in Washington?

Haywood:
games played: 607
starts: 469
Started in 77% of career games

Chandler:
games played: 588
starts: 391
Started in 66% of career games

It's this kind of retarded thinking that ZanShadow passes of his basketball opinion as facts that make him a target for 'grin.

The point is before Chan was injured, he was a great starter and he's younger than Haywood. Anyways, I don't hold high hopes in Haywood as he was close to being pretty useless in the last playoffs series.

Me the target of grin? Wow... shocking news.

Yeah. Gaywood was so useless! He was only their second best player in that series.

Correction Lamrock, third best player. Behind the deadly Matt Carroll.

ZanShadow wrote:The point is before Chan was injured, he was a great starter
Yeah, before. Too bad it's 2010 now and not 2007.
You think missing half the regular season for two consecutive seasons won't have an effect on him?
Just ask Elton Brand, Jermaine O'Neal, and Gilbert Arenas.

What Lamrock incorrectly posted and I won't even bother to post stats because I know you won't even bother to read them and just give you the facepalm for your regular idiocy.

So the second/third best player played 23/mpg and avged 6 ppg while coming off from the bench. All that while the team was struggling on offensive end. Nice. The coach and management should be dumb as fucks while grin is a genius who's not being recognized.
