So I'm guessing he won't choose to play for the Aussie's national team then since he showed he's more than capable of being included in the USA team.

I've not once played with the Cavs in 2K13, why is there a commentator clip where they mention it ??

but yea that's what I was getting at..... was wondering if there's been any talk or any invitations to him to play for the Aussie national team even though there's no chance of that happening.... I know sometimes countries extend open invitations to players like this, for example when China asked Jeremy Lin to play for them.....

Australia had a pretty decent team last 2 or 3 olympics and world ball chips, but all their star players got old, last guy left standing really is Patty Mills, and though he gets no play for the Spurs, he's very VERY good on the world stage, would be awesome to see him and Kyrie in the back court terrorizing everyone

so btw, here's Bynum improving his post footwork, from the other day.... no idea what he's doing in Spain, usually he goes to Germany in the off season

The offer was there and as I recall he was considering it, but ultimately decided he'd rather player for the USA, given the opportunity, which is certainly fair enough. Would've obviously been great for the Boomers, though.

Nice. (Y) Steve Nash and Amar'e Stoudemire tried that in the NBA contest one year, 2005 if I recall correctly.

1986, Jordan's only been in the league for 2 years.
Dick Van Patten already calls him one of the greatest basketball players that ever lived.
Dick Van Patten is a prophet.

lol at that analyst.

I wonder if Charlie coked up before the contest to match Jordan's energy.

One assist shy of a triple double in 11 minutes of play, at a point in his career when he wasn't yet the Michael Jordan that we know today. Even against international competition that wasn't as strong as it's become in subsequent years, that's incredible.

Fun story, classic Bobby Knight.

What I like about that story is Knight was still spot on with his observation of Jordan even if it's just to mess with him.
In all the games I watched of Jordan I never recall Jordan ever setting a solid screen except for a pick and slip.

Finally watched that vid.
I've always been against those hindsight historians or people who view history and ignore the context of it and after seeing that feature about Bowie, he's just damn unlucky with injuries.

His body was just working against him, even the treatment he got didn't hold up after seeing that part where surgery done to him was just to replace the screws, the protection for his bone couldn't even handle the stress that his body makes.
Too bad his was before advances in surgery and rehabilitation, see Ilgauskas.

People just couldn't get over their Jordan worship when 'analyzing' that draft and the bust label for Bowie. Meanwhile you see Michael Olowokandi being ignored (maybe he's excused from the bust discussion since the Clippers did draft him) or putting a coke head like Len Bias on the pedestal (bettar than Jordun!) when he's a bigger draft failure than Bowie since Bias OD'd before he even played a single NBA game.

It all started after the college game incident and if I recall correctly before that he doesn't have any major injuries. That injury haunted him for the rest of his career and probably one of the factor that he doesn't have the confidence anymore like back in the days when he's dominant. He contemplated going pro around 1980 and maybe if he did go it'll be a different story.

By the way regarding the coin flip, I literally meant it. Portland would've been thriving in the late 80's/early 90's if it went their way.

Either Knight is exaggerating or this box score is all wrong.

Most likely embellished for the story effect.
