That's probably the reason why Russell has a 98 overall rating in 2K, athletic ratings are a big boost to overall, especially for C/PF's in the game.

Once a realization kicked in, I started to distrust Kobe and media. There were times when I thought Kobe was a definite top 10 or even top 5

I watched that whole thing and it was a bit biased. Kobe Bryant was probably one of the smartest players in the game. He played the marketing, franchise and team level quite well to get to where he is today. It's possible that he was an Achilles heal to some, though. It's basically capitalism in a nutshell.
