Hmmm..I just noticed he is shooting 38% from the field this year and 40% for his career. I though he shot a better percentage for some reason, not 38. Oh well, he can go to Milwaukee, he'd fit right in.
Fri Apr 07, 2006 2:15 pm
Yeh... he actually isn't much of a shooter either. I think it'd be better to label him as a
Streaky shooter. So yes, I see you's points and now I wanna get D Fish

Its all about Kwame and Kobe tonight. Kobe - 34pts, 7rebs. Kwame - 15pts, 13rebs. Still 2:55 to go though, dunno why I didn't wait till the end of the game but oh well.....

Kobe makes a fading 3 while being fouled?..this guy is a mother fucking monster. He's just as clutch as jordan ever was.
Fri Apr 07, 2006 3:50 pm
Luke Walton??? hahahahahaha
carmelo anther clutch shot...
Fri Apr 07, 2006 3:51 pm
damn, why the hell Walton?!
Fri Apr 07, 2006 4:01 pm
FUCK! Umm... I was starting to like Luke... I would of loved him if he made that but no... he missed... Actually I don't even care that he missed, or that he took the shot, he did the right thing, because if he would of stopped and tried to get Kobe the ball from there, time would of expired, or Kobe would have to throw up a falling out of bounds shot, which he probably would of hit but still.

What I'm mad about is... the Laker's had a timeout left. The first time, they took a timeout, and then they (commentators) said that that leaves them with one full timeout left. So... isn't that what happened a week or 2 ago? Walton didn't use the final timeout? Hmm...
But damn... Carmelo... I love it when you hit those shots... but come on... you have to miss one once in a while, why couldn't it be tonight?
Oh, and Kobe's four point play... amazing, he must of been a few feet behind the 3 on that too, doesn't matter to him, but just had to say it. Then... I got confused on the Laker's next possesion... Odom dribbles out the shot clock and shoots a shot that would get you called a dumbass unless your name is Kobe Bryant, or any of the other great players in the league. Then on their next possesion... Kobe takes a stupid shot, but Smush get's the rebound, and Luke makes a smart play to shoot since the shot clock was about to expire, then the tip-in gets around the rim and out. Damn... then Carmelo just punishes Odom...

At least he took the shot right? Last time in a game he didn't have the guts to take it and Kobe shouted at him.
And yes... Lakers came back real good in the 4th, just didn't have enough lef tin the tank for OT. Just a question... are long rests good for a team? Or are they bad?
Lakers had a 3 day break before this game... It's obvious that with the long break, you can have a rest and stuff... re-energize urself but it takes their grooze away from them no?

No, I believe that was when Kobe got upset to him because they had a timeout left, but he didn't take it and Kobe had to shoot a long off-balance 3 with man on him like glue and a hand in his face. (Had to make it sound more difficult

)

Well... the Laker's had a 4 game rest before that one Raptor's game.

Are you sure? I'm sure that it was Kobe got him the ball and Walton didn't take it and chucked it back out to Kobe for a worse shot.
Fri Apr 07, 2006 4:16 pm
Oh, maybe, we might be talking about different games, because I do remember that Walton inbounded to Kobe when no one was open and they had a timeout left and he got mad at him for not taking it.
Oh, and by the way, in the Overtime period, your timeout's get reset to 2 full and a 20 second right? Because if so, then my mistake because then they Laker's didn't have a extra timeout, but I could of sworn that Steve Kerr, or a different commentator said like, "LA takes a timeout since no could get open, and Phil will draw up a new play. This now leaves them with one left. This reminds me of a..." then he starts talking about other stuff but yeah.

Laker's lose 107-96 to the Suns. Kobe has his 5th game this year of 50+ points with 51 and Odom played great though, with 17 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks.
Kobe Bryant: 51 points on 19-33 shooting (58%)
Lamar Odom: 17 points on 7-12 shooting (58%)
Other Lakers: 28 points on 11-37 shooting (30%)
Also as we feared... Kwame is back to his old self again...
Sat Apr 08, 2006 3:17 pm
Ahh poor Kwame... at least he's playing defence right? I didn't catch the game so I don't know.
Sat Apr 08, 2006 3:18 pm
Kwame is back to his old self again...
agree...but it may because he had no real big man to match up with on both ends so he was always left being and confused. That's also why he played like just 20 minutes or below.
The Lakers surely dont match up well against the Suns. They may even be better off if they fall to the 8th seed then.
Sat Apr 08, 2006 3:20 pm
If only the Clipper kept winning but they lost to Sac Town... I guess it works one way or the other hey. The team either plays the Clips or drop down the 8th to face Dallas... And thats if Dallas keep putting pressure on the Spurs...

They CAN match up with them though.
C: Odom
PF: Walton
SF: George
SG: Bryant
PG: Parker
Have Odom take Diaw, which will be interesting, and have Luke or Devean take Marion. Then we know Kobe will dominate, this wasn't even a must-win game, and Kobe went off for 51, think about it in the Playoffs, they need to win, Kobe'll keep shooting and shooting to try and win it for them.
Also, like I constantly say to my friends, you can't be Kobe Bryant in a seven game series. It just hasn't, won't and will not happen.
You know what would be really funny/cool. If Nash get MVP, and on the game that they present him with it, Kobe goes off for 70+ for the Laker win, and then they continue on from that and beat the Suns in the first round. Anyway the league would change it's mind on the MVP after something like that?
Sat Apr 08, 2006 5:33 pm
Ha, interesting idea. I would also like seeing Kobe kicks other teams' ass in the postseason, when everything counts most, though I still don't think that he deserves the MVP this year.

- Ur getting ahead of urself a bit there mate. If Kobe's gonna step it up... so will the Suns. Don't forget that once it counts, the Suns might start to play even harder defence on Kobe... and if Kobe's gonna throw up shots I don't think its the best game strategy. And the Suns will outscore Kobe, I know that. What the Lakers need is for the big men to step up. Phoenix don't have a guy as storng as Kwame on the court and LA's got to use this advantage. They need to also slow down the Suns on offence, try and control the game with defence. I think thta's the big challenge for LA.
The role players have got to step up big time if they want to even win one game against the Suns. Hoepfully, they can pull off a win against the Suns next game they play!
Oh yeh.. Kobe will need his teammates more in the playoffs than the regular seaosn, if they want Kobe to lift them to a win, the whole team has got to keep a game close.

I hate Laker losses, especially this time of year. Oh well.
I feel LA can get outta the first round. They probably could take one really good team out but probably not 2 or 3 throughout the playoffs (Well, lets hope they can take down everybody). I just wish they had a higher seed.
Oh well.
Sat Apr 08, 2006 9:28 pm
They will make some noise... and are dangerous in the first round. Teams should be scared of them cause they will make the other team run for a full series IMO.
Sat Apr 08, 2006 9:31 pm
I can just imagine everyones face when the Lakers pull off an upset.
I would feel so warm and mushy inside.
edit: You know whats fun, I was checking the ESPN poll this morning and apparently most of the voters believe Kobe should win MVP. Thats a bit surprising. Now I dont feel that crazy anymore.
Sat Apr 08, 2006 9:54 pm
Lots of people think Kobe should win MVP. Billups put it best. He said that he thinks MVP is for the best player in the NBA and he thinks Kobe is that right now. Then he says that its good to know that voters think about who should win it and give guys who may not be the ebst players but play on the best teams a look at winning MVP.

So even if Kobe doesn't win MVP... everyone still knows he's the number 1 player in the league.
Sun Apr 09, 2006 12:58 am
No, but then people in the future won't know!!

He has to get the MVP.
