Makes you wonder how the Mavericks are on the outside looking in as far as the Playoffs are concerned, when they have sorcery at their disposal.

Heat's winning streak continues. Meantime, Denver's streak ended. They will need Lawson back.

Also LAL are down by 20+ in 3rd and UTA won tonight. DAL is also closing in. 8th seed looks like anybody's game now. But I still don't believe LAL will lose it.

EDIT: Lol. Referees trying hard to get Lakers back into the game. 21 freethrows in 3rd(yet down by 18).
DONT LOOK AT KOBE! THEY WILL CALL FOUL!

Doesn't that now make them something like 0-7 when their projected starting lineup plays together?

They just can't find the balance with their roles. Just shows that quantity doesn't really equate to quality.

I definitely want the Mavs to win against the Clippers now. As much as I like the Clippers, Dallas winning would get them closer to knocking off the Lakers and put Denver in 3rd.

I need the Lakers to hold onto the 8th seed so the Cavs get their draft pick!

That's a terrible call. That referee can shake his head all he wants, but he's absolutely wrong. I wonder if the league is going to issue an apology and take any action over that; it would only seem appropriate.

I think 9.2 times out of 10, foul would be called for that play. It was obvious the shot was affected by contact and wasn't no clean block. And the ref had a perfect angle and right in front of the play.

But it's Kobe and the Lakers. It's been awhile cookie crumbles in such weird ways. I don't think the league will issue an apology. They already did for Jones against Kobe.

I thought the league had already established that they don't want the game to end on freethrows unless it is really obvious. They rarely make calls at the end of games.

Like how LeBron got away with that foul on Durant in the closing seconds of game 2 of last year's Finals.

The league apologised for the error. Kobe's thoughts?

Bryant scoffed at the notion that he fouled Rubio.

''That's not a foul,'' he said. ''You don't call that (stuff).''

In all fairness, what is he supposed to say? "Oh, it was a foul for sure. Should've been free throws, we didn't really deserve that win"? Of course not. Still, given the way he often glares at referees and slaps his arm when missing a shot at any time during the game, I think his tune would be quite different about what constitutes a foul and what doesn't, if the shoe were on the other foot.

Speaking of fouls, LeBron wasn't happy with a couple of plays in the loss to the Bulls that ended the streak at 27. As Wilbon said, you can't play as physically as he does, barreling into other players with a knee lifted and whatnot and then complain when opponents get physical with you. Simmons was also on point with his remark about them not being anywhere close to dirty and that such a notion would be laughable in the 80s and 90s.

LeBron took the fouls personally. He usually does against the fouls that don't give him any chance at all to put up the shot. No other player in the league gets fouled like that on consistent basis, but for LeBron, it's become a routine to get not just fouled but also intensively. It is however understandable for defenders to just flat out wanting to send him to the line rather than taking any chances because he is that much dangerous. LeBron just seems to be heartbroken by that. And I'm sure some of those hard fouls add up as extra bruises and wear as season matures. This issue has come up numerously before and the Heat media on many occassions addressed on needs to protect their stars. Incidents with the Bulls are nothing new. The Heat's lessorings are pretty much prepared to send a message and return the favor whenever it gets rough for their stars, just like last season. Gonna get chippy and it's just the way it is.

As for Kobe, LoL. What a cheat.

He's not the only one that gets played very physically though and those weren't particularly hard or dirty fouls, compared to stuff we've seen over the years. Perhaps he is a bit frustrated at this point and the streak coming to an end probably compounded that frustration, but I still think Wilbon and Simmons were on point there.

As he said postgame, he doesn't usually get "frustrated" with these fouls, but now it's starting to get to him.

Oh yeah for sure, that much is loud and clear. Fouls got to his head. Streak got to his head. A lot of things got to his head. Lost his cool and lost his composure under *mild provocation and pressure. He's a queenBrick after all. Coulda have handled everythin better including whiny interview at the end.
