It's been said that the Rockets are looking for a Franchise player anyway, I was reading on RealGM that they are willing to pretty much give up all of their first round picks to get one, not that they have a first rounder this draft anyway.

Yao Ming will not be the centrepiece for any team anymore. His career is pretty much over. Now it's just seeing whether he will:
a) remain a Rockets player
b) retire (He's said he would retire if he didn't feel like he could play anymore)
c) go elsewhere (pretty much backtracking on what he has said in past 2 years)
I do think it's going to be interesting to see what he does!

I go with Knicks. New York should find some young stars that has the role of Billups. He is getting older and older after picked by Celtics in 1997 NBA Draft. Also they need a C. Turiaf is a PF.
My starting five:
C: a new center/Free Agent
PF: Stoudemire/Turiaf/Jeffries
SF: Anthony/Williams
SG: Fields/Walker
PG: a new point guard/Billups/Douglas

i don't know if this is true
http://twitter.com/#!/DraftExpress/stat ... 9851563008The Dwight Howard sweepstakes have begun. Golden State offered Monta Ellis, Andris Biedrins and Ekpe Udoh. Unlikely that'll get it done.

I don't see any new point guard taking Billups' starting job.
Sounds like they're trying to trade Douglas to Minny for Flynn to play as backup to Billups. I know a lot don't like Flynn but for that price I think it is worth taking a punt.
I think Turiaf will play backup centre, as will Mozgov. Jefferies will get minutes at PF.
If the money isn't there, which it's not, maybe Przybilla or the like.

Actually, they do have a first round draft pick, TWO to be exact. 14 and 23. I think you may have got this draft mixed up with next year's draft. They'd be especially willing to give up both of those this draft because, as it's been said before, this draft class isn't as strong and lacks future superstars. We'll see what happens, though.

The cleveland cavaliers what should they do?:Draft Derrick Williams!!! I can't stress that enough. The cavs don't need another point gaurd, but it wouldn't be too bad if they did get Kyrie, it would be the best for the team, and he wouldn't replace Lebron, but it wouldn't be too bad.
Cleveland needs a small forward bad, and Derrick Williams can make a good small forward in the nba. He doesn't have to play power forward in the nba like most people think. He has the speed to play the 3, and plus he can score.
Lakers and the Heat are trying to get the cavs 1st round pick is a rumor going around the league right now. Cavalier front office, you better not dare trade your 1st round pick to either of those teams, especially, not the heat. Cleveland's two biggest needs are two wingmen, a 2 gaurd and a small forward.
One last thing they probably should do is make a trade, but not one of this year's draft picks, no.

Mozgov went to Denver in the Melo trade.

Oh yep sorry my bad lol, but yeah they've said they are going to be trying to get on the trades this off season at least, so hopefully they pick up a nice piece some how.

The Heat have a couple players who could play those positions. The Cavaliers are probably familiar with one and the Heat need to blow the up absolute disaster of a team they assembled this season.

They can't get a legit centre, best bet is to try & get more out of what they've got (Speights & backup Hawes).
Rumour has it they're dealing away Speights, along with Iguodala, for Kaman and Aminu.

Josh Smith could be available.
The Atlanta Hawks have started to gauge trade interest on forward Josh Smith, and Smith isn’t averse to ending his seven-year stay with his hometown team, league sources told Yahoo! Sports on Monday.
Smith hasn’t requested a trade, but has privately told league friends that the Boston Celtics, New Jersey Nets, Houston Rockets and Orlando Magic are his preferred destinations should the Hawks decide to move him.
“The relationship has run its course,” said a league source with knowledge of the dynamic.
Stating the obvious, but he'd be a great addition for any of those teams. The article mentions that Dwight Howard is keen for it to happen; Smith for Turkoglu straight up would work according to ESPN's trade machine, but I highly doubt the Hawks go for that with Hedo's contract.

I'm not sure about J.R. Smith though. I still believe Jason Richardson is the best from the most feasible options (those who are not restricted like Aflallo or really expensive like Crawford).
J.R. Smith has a character which is a question mark. Though he has the plus of being younger. Is it possible to get them both?
How much of a paycut do you think J-rich is going to take? he made $14mil this past year.
IMO i'm not a fan of his game. he hits 3's but that's about what his game has "progressed" to. he's almost a rich man Bogans lol
the bulls don't have a lot of cap room to begin with...

Spurs fielding trade calls for ParkerThe San Antonio Spurs are engaged in discussions about trading point guard Tony Parker to secure a high pick in Thursday’s draft, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
The Spurs have talked to teams in the lottery, including the Toronto Raptors and Sacramento Kings, who hold the fifth and seventh picks, respectively. The Kings are determined to get a frontline point guard, and have also talked with the Denver Nuggets about Raymond Felton.
Wow. Guess they're looking to shake things up after all.

I'm sure that J-Rich won't found anywhere near the 14 mil that he was getting, maybe with the half money or some more the job could be done. And as for the cap space, until the new CBA we can't be sure for anything.
What about Vince Carter? Suns are rumored to be buying out his contract, and he should be a great support in the SG,even not being VC of the past.
And another question. Would you place Asik as the main part of a trade involving a young SG, let's say someone like O.J. Mayo?
Wed Jun 22, 2011 10:44 pm
Carter? Yeah, maybe. He'll still take it to the hoop on occasion so he's not just a three point shooter. He's 34 with 13 years in the league though, so like a couple of the other names that have been thrown out there he's probably not a viable longterm solution. I wouldn't rule him out if he's available though.
As far as trading Asik for someone like Mayo, I'm hesitant to make that deal unless they can get a centre of similar skill/value to replace him. I don't mean to say he's untradeable by any means but trading one problem for another - in this case, adding more scoring on the wing but losing their backup centre - isn't exactly ideal. I like what I see with Asik and I'd like the Bulls to hold onto him if they can but it depends what kind of package is on the table. If they can get someone like Mayo and adequately replace Asik in the rotation then maybe that's the best way forward.

Simmons again made some trade proposals, this time using a stupid gimmick:

A hot rumor I've heard is Pau Gasol to the T'Wolves for Kevin Love. Apparently, the rift between Pau and Kobe is wider than the Grand Canyon. I do NOT make that deal if I'm Minnesota.
Fri Jun 24, 2011 1:07 am
We're talking about David Kahn here, it's going to happen! Who better mentor to Dicky Rubio than 2-time NBA champion and fellow conquistador Pau Gasol.

A rumor i've heard are talks between the 76ers and the Lakers, two long time rivals. Andre Iguodala for Luke Walton and Lamar Odom, bad for the 76ers but great for the Lakers.
Mike Brown wants an athletic young player to pair with Kobe and Artest, plus he wants him to defend against the likes of James, Wade and Durant. It seems like the chicago bulls are looking at Isaiah thomas, which i think would be a great fit for the bulls.
Chicago could finally have a shooting gaurd, as they could put Rose at the 2 and Thomas could start at the 1, i think Rose is more of 2 gaurd because he loves to attack the rim.
The rumored talks between the wolves and the suns in trade Nash to the wolves proved false, as someone in the suns front office said they would not trade Steve Nash.
Dallas is worried that they might loose Barea, and if Isaiah Thomas drops to where the mavericks are at 26, then they could get Thomas, and another rumor going around, is that the several teams have contacted the hawks regaurding Josh Smith.
