Not actually true, last year Hedo averaged 31 minutes a game and averaged 13.3 points, 3.2 assists, and 4.0 rebounds. This year in 37 minutes, he is averaging 19.5 points, 5.0 assists, and 5.7 rebounds. 6 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists, in just 5 minutes of more playing time seems to show improvement to me. Just my opinion though, whatever.

That's off topic though, Benji I think people who actually study the NBA all day know more about basketball than you. How old are you by the way? And you BigKaboom? Just wondering.

Not mention, Benji one of your main arguments are that the last 2 most recent playoff series mean nothing.

Hedo per 36:
0405: 19.2pts 4.8rebs 3.1asts, 53% shooting, 24.8% usage, 11.9% turnover, 4.0% oreb
0506: 16.0pts 4.6rebs 3.0asts, 58% shooting, 20.6% usage, 11.4% turnover, 3.4% oreb
0607: 15.4pts 4.7rebs 3.7asts, 53% shooting, 21.7% usage, 13.5% turnover, 3.2% oreb
0708: 19.1pts 5.6rebs 4.9asts, 58% shooting, 24.8% usage, 15.0% turnover, 3.3% oreb

He's had better or comparable years in each of the four factors. (EDIT: Here represented by three statistics so I didn't have to calculate anything.)

When did I ever say the last two playoff series mean nothing? Am I not using all of Dirk's playoff games as the basis of the argument?

fine, I give up, I don't even care at this point. Dirk Nowitzki is a great playoff performer, and one of the most clutch players ever. There I said it, rejoice.

I'm sorry it was difficult for you to discuss something on a discussion board.

You don't need to get sarcastic and insult people just because you don't have anything behind your argument.

I hate how when people make their MIP picks, they only consider the previous year as a barometer. Honestly, I'm surprised Grant Hill didn't win it in 2005.

Haha yup.

EDIT: Benji.. the "How Old are you?" was not part of my argument, I am actually curious. I'm not trying to imply you are immature or anything, I just wanted to know. I am 17, how old are you?

Yesterday I was at a store watching the game with this other guy who said the Mavs were going to sweep. Then the Hornets came back and ended up winning the game.

Not totally surprising, though the Hornets are slight underdogs. I'm sticking by Dallas in 6, despite it all.

One game doesn't prove anything, as already discussed at length in this very thread, but I thought this particular game was a good example of how playoff experience (and for that matter, playoff inexperience) is prone to being blown out of proportion. However, I must admit when I logged on to check the scores yesterday and saw the Mavericks up 12 at the half I figured they'd take care of business and draw first blood, only to be surprised when I flipped over to ESPN for the Jazz/Rockets game and caught the bonus coverage of the Mavs/Hornets game, which was about the last three minutes.

i agree, i think the experience factor gets hyped way too much by the media. in some cases, hell in alot of cases, it is true as certain players step thier game up come playoff time. on the other hand though you have players who will play just as hard in a mid season game than they will game 1 of the playoffs, some people just flat out want to win every single time and will do whatever it takes to do that.

I'm surprise that this is my first appareance in this thread.
Talking about appareances, why people says Hornets have no playoff experience? Only Wright, Amstong and Paul hadn't played a playoff game until yesterday.

As Andrew said, when I saw the 12 point deficit I thought Mavericks would take the game, but surprise! Paul came up with 15 points and 5 asists in the third (Y)

It probably comes down to Paul not having any playoff experience and the notion that the team's star is responsible for everything, but even putting that aside in terms of playoff appearances and going deep into the Playoffs, the current Hornets squad does not have as much experience as the current Mavs squad which contributes to the "inexperienced" tag.

I'm confident that if the Mavs hold Paul to his season averages, they can pull it off. The Hornets have beaten the Mavs this season often because Paul has been going off. He's had 33/9/12, 31/5/11 (and 9 steals) in their wins. He had 22/3 in an earlier Mavs win this season and just 20/10 in that end-of-season victory by the Mavs. If the Dallas defence can somehow hold him to 20/5/10 and win maybe one in New Orleans, they should wn the series.

Hornets up 2-0 and Paul again posts some nice numbers with 32 points and 17 assists.
Confident that the Hornets will eliminate the Mavs, I wonder what Mark Cuban will do in the following season.

:D :D :D
If the Mavs were trying to hold on Paul, they sucked.
Pretty easy game, I must say.
I love to see Cuban's face when Dallas doesn't win

So is the NLSC going to bandwagon New Orleans or Philly this year?

Avery needs to work some genius masterplan on stopping Paul.

Stackhouse and Josh Howard need to stop SUCKING BALLS. Dirk can't do it all. Bass and terry provided good help today on offence, but when you have one facet of your offence shooting such a percentage, it's hard to win games.

Hopefully Dallas starts running at the AAC. Kidd is at his best when that happens.

Paul's a once in a blue moon player. He's in the same class as LeBron, and I can't think of anyone else who can be this amazing early in his career.

I just enjoy watching the Mavs lose and see Cuban's reaction when he gets the loss handed to him.
Think he ever will stop riding Nowitzki's nuts and consider trading him?

Probably New Orleans, though I predict that anti-Chris Paul bandwagon will pick up a lot of members over the next year or so, seeing as how it somehow becomes cool to hate players as their success grows.
