Possibly, as I have heard good things about Simmons and Ingram (though a couple of troubling things about Simmons as well). I do kind of favour established talent though, and Butler is one of the best two way players in the league today. To that end, I lean towards not, but it's an intriguing thought.
Perhaps they can just overcome the odds and win the lottery. Then they can have both. I mean, let's not bank on it happening, but that'd feel great after such a disappointing season.
Tue May 03, 2016 11:45 am
can't win the lottery if you don't play, right?
i'm no draft specialist for sure but so far i haven't heard much buzz about this year's prospects. maybe as the playoffs wind down, it will pick up
Butler on the "old" max contract will be awesome value for the next few years. it would have to be a king's ransom offer to pry away Butler.

happened a few weeks ago but how about Horace Grant coming back to the bulls? this is the same guy who backed out of a handshake agreement with reinsdorf/was lifted on the magic players shoulders when they eliminated the bulls in '95 (just caught the 30 for 30 on the magic. another solid episode. penny was a force, scoring easily on Pip and MJ. and of course a young shaq).
time does heal wounds even for a loyal guy like reinsdorf

Suppose 22 years is enough time to bury the hatchet. So, he's a special assistant to Michael Reinsdorf; I'm guessing he's mostly going to be doing scouting and ambassadorial work?
Thu May 12, 2016 8:52 pm
It's actually Harvey Grant, Reinsdorf told him to pretend to be Horace for the PR.

Thanks for the golden nugget there

Well, no luck in the lottery!

I'm guessing Sam Smith had this one ready to go:
http://blogs.bulls.com/2016/05/bulls-dr ... nba-draft/Had to chuckle at this omission (which may be fixed by the time some read it):
The last time the Bulls were in the draft lottery was in 2008 when the Bulls moved up in the drawing to No. 1 despite having the ninth best odds. The Bulls selected Derrick Rose, who went on to win a league MVP award. Former Bulls vice president Steve Schanwald represented the Bulls in 2008. The only other time the Bulls drew the No. 1 pick was in 1999. They selected Elton Brand. Former Bulls general manager represented the Bulls in 1999.
I guess Jerry Krause's name is still taboo.

my early favorite for the bulls to pick is
Wade Baldwin

I kind of like the sound of
Denzel Valentine, though he is projected to be off the board by the fourteenth pick. A big combo guard that can shoot and make plays for others.

Shame that on some scouting reports they're saying he's a defensive liability that he's coach is hiding him on defense... Regarding wingmen, I hope they can nab this guy
His FT% is suspect but he got a decent FG% and 3PT%. A Gary Harris type of player I reckon...
Some reports said that
the whole medical staff were fired

Should have just kept him and jokic instead of mcbuckets haha
Don't know what kind of comp luwawu faces but I am intrigued

Is there any chance to release rose? he is one big pain in their asses since last 3 years.
Fri May 20, 2016 10:25 am
I suppose they could, but they'd still have to pay out his salary anyway.

Some interesting thoughts from Sam Smith:
http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/samsmith/ ... m-05.20.16This may be the dumbest thing I've read all week:
New NBA logo, Steph? If he never played another game, he is what basketball players and people should be all about! I think Jerry West (my all-time favorite) would be proud! A lot of kids don’t even know who Jerry West is, but everyone knows Steph! It’s time.
Enjoyed Smith's response, though.

Ha. Smith has a pretty good gig
If its cavs vs warriors in the finals. Who are you cheering for??
Sun May 22, 2016 10:18 am
Last year, it was the Warriors. This year, the Cavaliers.
Tue May 24, 2016 1:02 am
i wouldn't cheer for the cavs. maybe if jamal crawford, jimmy buckets, or thibs ends up over there. that's about it
so... how about butler, niko, 14th pick for okafor & 1st pick?
Tue May 24, 2016 8:53 am
I realise cheering for the Cavs would be blasphemy, but I've really come to dislike the Warriors for the flexing, cockiness, and Green's dirtiness. Also, LeBron was pretty funny in Trainwreck.
Tue May 24, 2016 11:51 am
after the spurs lost i found myself wanting to see the cavs win this season
Tue May 24, 2016 10:27 pm
i wonder if Craig Ehlo ever cheered for Jordan and the Bulls... and if owns a copy of Space Jam

missed these 2 oops. the lack of defense of Valentine is a deal breaker for me otherwise i'm sold. can't have another poor perimeter defender with niko and dougie already on the roster
bye bye to Rose's personnel shitty medical team! maybe luol deng will come sign here now
Wed May 25, 2016 9:07 am
I believe Ehlo was cheering for the Monstars in Space Jam.
Wed May 25, 2016 10:12 am
Well played, Sir
Wed May 25, 2016 11:26 am
Getting back to Draft prospects...yeah, if Valentine's a defensive liability, then he's a much less appealing option to say the least. I noticed that his athleticism has also been questioned, and while there have been players who have succeeded despite limited athleticism due to their skill, it's certainly not ideal in a wing player, so that's another strike against him.
Thu May 26, 2016 1:55 am
that enough strikes? if not Valentine, who's your guy?? Sabonis? Beasley?
KC Johnson writes a rare opinion piecenice takeaways at the end
Don't be seduced by Butler's talk about wanting to work out with Rose this summer. Even if it happens — no certainty — Rose doesn't scrimmage in the offseason. They have done drills together multiple times in training camp and practice.
Butler represented the bulls at the draft lottery selection and was recently on NBA TV. What has Rose been up to lately? Just saying
