Honestly I'd say I'd prefer it being Pau as the trailing 3 point option as you would think "uptempo offence" would mean Rose leading the fast break and attacking the basket being the first option.

Who is suggesting Niko should be the starting Sf?? Most of the speculation has been about shuffling the Pf & C.

The Chicago fast break a myth. Other than Rose and Butler, no one on the wing runs the floor. MJD is like Hinrich and misses layups. Gibson will bring the Thunder dunk assuming he is healthy. Thas about it :(

Still probably Rose, though I'd like to see him cut back on the 271 he took last season.

I think id rather have Niko beard chucking more

MJD's injury opening the door for Mcd and snell

Even as a knicks fan for 23 years (mostly bad years lol) I am really routing for Dougie Fresh to succeed in the windy city same with Portis too.

I think Pax-man share your sentiments the most ;)

Earlier I said if McD could earn a split of minutes with MJD I would be happy. I think the same applies but now Snell is the one bigger winner here

Yesterday was media day and of course Rose drops another quote for us to digest regarding his thoughts on his "upcoming" status as a free agent in 2017
"Making sure that my family is financially stable -- as far as, you see all the money that they're passing out in this league, [I'm] just telling the truth, just knowing that my day will be coming up soon. It's not for me, it's for [son] P.J. and his future. so that's what I'm thinking about right now."

I think it's on him to play as close to a full season as he can if he wants bigger money, he will definitely get big money but if he really wants some of this big cash that will be going around when the cap goes up then he has to play through pain more (and hope that this trial doesn't stand up in court)

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Wed Sep 30, 2015 8:45 am

Yeah I agree. The guy needs to play a full season or near to it at a consistently high level then he'll be able to take care of his son financially

I love Butler's response: "he can talk about unicorns and rainbows. I don't care as long as he's out there playing"

Edit Rose having surgery after getting hit in the face. Guy just can't catch a break no pun intended

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Wed Sep 30, 2015 9:58 am

Yeah, I groaned when I saw that this morning, but was kind of relieved when I heard the nature of it...callous as that may seem. I mean, it's a setback, and I'm sure it was pretty painful, but it's far, far better news than another non-contact knee injury. Watch the tired memes come rolling in.

The stuff about free agency...well, he's honest I suppose, but he needs to stay healthy and play at a high level before talking about any of that.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Wed Sep 30, 2015 3:24 pm

Un frickin believable!

Rose out again and requires surgery.

This guy is main of glass, sorry to say it but it's true.

It's a facial injury so he can play with a mask and he's done it before pre season so there is time to get it sorted but it just goes to show you that he picks up injures like colds now and that will make teams think twice about max contracts

Edit- also take it from me with my experience of Melo saying on media day that he will opt out and look for bigger money, that stuff took over our season and the rest of the players knew it too.

Hopefully this isn't the case in the Windy city.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Wed Sep 30, 2015 5:15 pm

I don't know it's fair to say he's made of glass this time around. When you drive the lane, there's always the risk of an errant elbow or whatever catching you in the mouth, or on the nose, or orbital bone.

Having chronic knee problems (a la Brandon Roy) or constantly breaking bones would merit the "glass" label. Stuff like rolling his ankle when he landed on Kyrie Irving's foot last year, or a contact injury where he takes an unfortunate blow to the face? That's just bad luck, and a risk inherent in the sport.

Fair point mate, I cant actually believe that a BULLS player being injured would frustrate me so much!

I didn't bat an eyelid when a member of the Nets or Heat go down!

Reggie Miller suggests to opt with the shades instead (remember the Atlanta olympics?)... On the lighter side, they say he'll probably be back just in time for the opener and the good thing about this is we will see Jordan Crawford play some minutes in the pre-season games unless Jimmy Buckets demands/will be forced by the coaching staff to play PG as he wish he'll be... Speaking of JB, he let the media know that he's not the one who "deliberately" elbowed DRose and was nowhere near him when the incident happened
JB wrote:I didn’t really see the play. I know he went baseline, probably made a pretty athletic play, hit the corner and then all I saw is him go down. He rolled over. I don’t know. I was probably too busy waiting for the ball to come back to me. I saw him in the training room after practice. Probably (happened) midway through, right before we started getting up and down a little bit.

"I was probably too busy waiting for the ball to come back to me."

Well, there's something to read too much into.

Media be like : "This bad luck karma shit is a proof he actually raped that woman, we have a new headline boys ".

Oh please...

Media still writing stuff like it's the beginning of a slow nba summer!

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

If there's any journalist out there actually writing stuff like that, I'd suggest they find a different vocation. And get their head examined.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

True, I'm sure there's some publication somewhere that would run with it.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Oct 01, 2015 1:06 am

He's not Mr Glass but I think it is fair to say he cannot stay injury free

Would Bulls fans still be a fan of Rose if he was in a different uniform?!

Just stating the facts here-
Currently on a max contract
Has played in only 32% of games in the past 4 years
Level of play last year was clearly below his standards
Is seeking a max contract even though he is still under contract for 2 additional years

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Oct 01, 2015 1:31 am

Let's just say the Bulls or any team for that matter give him a max deal just like Amare got from the knicks in 2010, he may be great or at least above average his first year but then the knee's and back start playing up and he just can't play at the level he used too while being paid like a franchise player.

If that happens(like Amare) then fans will turn on him real quickly.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Oct 01, 2015 1:48 am

Who the heck talks about a new contract on frickin MEDIA DAY?!? Never mind he's still under contract or that he's coming off his worst year

Whatever happened to that guy who was humble and showed great humility??

I suggest Rose wear the phantom of the opera mask with a rose on it

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Oct 01, 2015 2:09 am

Just when he was rocking a new haircut and that fancy facial hair, he has to wear a mask :(

This is not very pleasant for the Chicago Bulls fans, it is true. But it's not like you can say he is fragile after this injury. People get elbows to the face in the NBA, there's nothing they can do about.

P.S. Just read a tweet on bleacher report which is very interesting. Notice how Rose and Westbrook sustained the same kind of injuries during their careers, but one is considered Mr. Glass and the other Overgod ?

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Oct 01, 2015 3:05 am

I'm convinced Westbrook is a robot or an ancient alien. The dude had his face dented in and he was playing within a week I think. And he played even more fearless upon his returns from his multiple injuries
