I reckon all the "rumors" (not buying "the feud" and the Lakers will not give a 1 year offer sheet since they can't extend with it) is just leverage used by Jimmy's agent (remember Melo last year?)... Saw some reports that if MDJ didn't re-sign, they'll pursue Marco Bellineli...

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

I wouldn't put it past butler for having a slight resentment to Rose when butler was playing entire playoff games while Rose was "rehabbing" or going through Thibs style practices this year while Rose was sitting out. I don't think it's a big feud though either

I'm all for Marco as a backup plan for MJD. Also stuckey would be a decent pickup as combo guard off the bench

I reckon Jimmy doesn't mind that back then and was more worried if he'll get playing time behind Luol Deng... He's on a contract year, the FO didn't extend him to his desired amount and was on a mission to show them that he's worth of what he's asking... He would've love and probably thankful to Rose for sitting out those games... By the way, he postpones his visits to his suitors perhaps either he'll take that 5 year max or will try to re-negotiate for a shorter term?

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

I agree with that. Rose being out lead to Butler asserting himself on offense. I think those two didn't get the chemistry down partly because of that.

Looks like Bulls management had done their homework by offering the max and max QO. Good news butler is postponing his visits. Maybe there's still one more report to come. Let's get this done already!

I won't wait for kevin to report second hand news.

Good job all around by the Bulls and Butler in getting the him resigned

Now let's trade Hinrich and find a backup pg!

Fantastic news!

So who's taking the MMLE after their priorities were re-signed? Barea? Neal? Stucky? Lin  ? It would be awesome if they can get Belinelli with it :cheeky: highly unlikely though... Perhaps they're saving Taj for later since McBuckets didn't showed yet if he's the 2nd coming of Kyle Korver or Adam Morrison and of course if Portis is a bust himself...

Stuckey perhaps, though I imagine he'll get a better offer elsewhere.

eurobasket.com wrote:The Chicago Bulls continued their offseason makeover, as they are set to sign Euroleague superstar and former Los Angeles Laker's guard, Andrew Goudelock (6'3''-G-88, college: Charleston).

Goudelock comes off a season in which he was widely regarded as the best American guard in Europe, and makes his return to the NBA.

Media reports Goudelock is signing a 2 year fully guaranteed contract with the second year being a a player option.

Rumors are the contract is worth over 2 million dollars.

He played great with them in last year's summer league... Solid pick-up (Y)

Hopefully he can fare a little better in the postseason than Brooks did.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Mon Jul 06, 2015 2:09 am

So is he the new backup pg?

Wasn't he the summer league hero? I'm not much of a fan of lakers trash but I shall remain positive

The bar is set pretty low for Goudelock. It cannot be overstated how bad Brooks was

ESPN sources say Aaron Brooks has struck a one-year deal to return to the Chicago Bulls

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Wed Jul 08, 2015 8:11 am

Big thumbs down on that move

Bulls going with the same roster as last year sans Thibs while the cavs are going way over the cap Brooklyn Nets style

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

The one time they retain their stopgap back-up point guard, it's likely the time they should've let him go. Guess he'll battle it out with Goudelock.

Actually it seems that Goudelock is not locked yet (though some says that they can still add someone for the vet minimum and I hope it's not Nazr  )and probably Brooks will be their backup PG...

I'm with my comrades here... He's indeed a offensive sparkplug on many occasions but he's a defensive liability and his shot selections are head-scratchers most of the time... Also one bad thing about the deal , as what the reports say, is that it has a no trade clause or Brooks will allow or reject a trade if he's not up to it... So be it the Spurs gonna win it all anyway...

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jul 09, 2015 1:44 am

I hope Goudelock is at least a summer camp invite. Id rather have Moore get the chance instead of brooks. Did I mention I don't like brooks?

Maybe when all the next tier players are signed, pax man will make another move

If Cory Joseph got 4yrs at $7mil per, it's time to temper expectations on who the Bulls can bring in with the mmle

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jul 09, 2015 9:18 am

To me, he felt like a decent enough signing early on - especially on the occasions where he'd come in and score 15-20 points off the bench - and it was possible to overlook his shot selection and whatnot. As the season wore on, he started looking less and less like a more permanent solution backing up Rose at point. To that extent, would it be fair to call him a much better version of Jannero Pargo?

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jul 09, 2015 10:46 am

I could go along with the pargo comparison...

My biggest contention is management saw his failures in the playoffs and they still brought him back

Maybe he can half succeed by his standards in the regular season, eat some minutes up. Maybe I'm less harsh if hinrich isn't the alternative lol

It's possible Rose may miss games next season. I was hoping a more steady pg could be brought in

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Fri Jul 10, 2015 3:33 am

Apparently the Bulls used the mmle on Brooks. Barring some slug or Mohamed comes for the minimum or a trade, that should be a wrap on the offseason moves

What grade do you give the Bulls???

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Fri Jul 10, 2015 9:25 am

Maybe a C-plus, up to a B-minus. Portis is supposedly a good pick-up at #22, they re-signed Butler for five years, so they retained their All-Star free agent and seemingly drafted well with their lone, late first round pick. Beyond that though, there are no significant changes to the roster; no major screw-ups, but no major improvements, either. They achieved what they wanted to do, but it was the bare minimum as far as building for the future (ie retaining Butler). Competent, but unspectacular. "Meets expectations", if you will.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Fri Jul 10, 2015 1:05 pm

I give them c+

They handled the Butler situation well. Maybe lakers fans got teased but the Bulls management were on their game

I'm more happy on who they didn't pick tbh lol. Maybe Portis is a good prospect. Minutes will be hard to come by with the current cast

MJD- ok. Hinrich- yuck. Brooks- damnit.

Let the summer games begin! Go dougie mcbuckets!

Portis giving bulls fans something to be excited about. That was an impressive debut. Successfully attacking Kat, outrunning whichever twolve big in transition, draining perimeter shots off the roll. And to boot this guy has andres nocioni like intensity.
