Assuming Pax-man doesn't surprise and pull off a draft day deal to move up or down, Who's your guy??

My list based on who potentially could available at #22
Grant
Wright
Rozier

I like the idea of having a combo guard off the bench.

Just had a quick glance at a couple of their scouting reports. I'd have to agree, any one of the three could potentially be a good pick-up at #22. Grant might be the best way to go, if he's available; sounds like his jumpshot is a bit of a concern, as is his shot selection, but seems they're saying the same thing about Wright and Rozier. I think I'd have to agree with your ranking of Grant, Wright, Rozier.

If they were to go for a swingman, perhaps Justin Anderson would be a viable choice?

The outside shot is a concern for the first 2 for sure more so wright. Grant seems to be a pax guy- experienced and from a decent program

Rozier may have the highest ceiling of the 3

Anderson would be a decent choice for a wing. I wonder if they will pick a wing. I think mc3and snell will see more minutes. If MJD is back in the fold and Hinrich back by default, not a lot of minutes available. I do like andersons skillset though

They're definitely going for a big guard this draft since they worked out a lot of 6'3-6'5 PGs lately and of the 3, (Grant, Wright, Rozier) Grant's the only one they invited so far (who just recently had back to back work outs with them and the only prospect to do so)... By the way, do they have a 2nd rounder this year? Or they dealt it also earlier?

Just the one pick, #22.

I see... that Deng deal is a fucking waster...

Agreed. It was time to move on, but it would've been nice if they could've got more in return...assuming there were better offers available, of course.

Now watch they pull a surprise and draft someone nobody expected them to get.. Or trade down for multiple picks in the 2nd round so they don't have to pay a 1st round type salary

Who's this Deng guy? Think he'd be a good addition as a stretch 4??

So you're saying you don't want them to get the next Dalibor Bagaric? Blasphemy!

Haha still waiting for the report on a last minute workout conducted this past midnite

What about a deal involving the pick and a player for mason plumlee??

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Fri Jun 26, 2015 9:23 am

He's alright, but I'm not sure he's a player they really need. I think I'd rather they went after one of the prospects already discussed.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Can't blame they picked Portis since he's the best available talent and all those they're targeting were already picked... I was quite disappointed earlier they didn't nabbed Hollis-Jefferson but then I realized he doesn't have a jumper and Portis perhaps is the better player in Hoiberg's system... If they don't re-sign MDJ, I hope they at least make a run for Rasual Butler...

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Yeah, he doesn't fit the profile a few of us were discussing here, but I'll remain optimistic without getting my hopes up too much. He sounds alright.

Agreed. Once those pgs flew off the board I was just hoping they didn't pick that duke pg or that wing player who shoots from his chin

If Mjd isn't back, they can't start the season with, gulp, Mc3 or Snell as their top 3pt gunner... Can they?

Haha speak for yourself ;)
I wanted pg first but I did list an athletic big man as a need

Next week the real off season starts anyway. Let the butler contract talk saga begin!

Edit-
Interesting to see RHJ picked at #23 was flipped for mason plumlee. Plumlee isn't exciting but he is an ideal big guy to back up both pf and c.

Most draft pundits pegged Portis a lottery selection. He reminds me of a more hard nosed andray blatche.

Surprised Thibs took time from the film room for this.

Speaking of Thibs, is this guy going to back in the league anytime soon??

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

I assume he will. If not by the start of the season, someone will bring him in part the way through.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Sun Jun 28, 2015 8:57 pm

It doesnt really matter if Jimmy wants to leave or not the ball is in Chi's hands when it comes down to having to match offers which he will surly get plenty but if he does want to leave and signs a pretty impressive offer sheet amount elsewhere then the Bulls have to make a tough decision on bringing back a player that doesnt want to be there.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Mon Jun 29, 2015 7:58 am

There hash been some (wild) speculation Butler and Rose don't get along. Rose supposedly was passive in game 6 to prove a point lol

Forman has gone on record saying the Bulls will match any offer. A few more days until negotiations begin!

And for nostalgics sake I am a full advocate of signing the recently available FA Ben Gordon to a minimum contract to be the Bulls last guard off the bench

Bring him, back Pax!

Memories of the Bulls vs Celtics playoff OT battles with Ben shooting the lights out!

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Tue Jun 30, 2015 8:06 am

Latest report is the bulls offered Mr. Butler both the qualifying max offer and qualifying offer.

I believe that is 5yr/90 mil or 4 mil. C'mon buckets, do the right thing!

And hinrich just opted in, giving the bulls close to 3mil to package with the sacto pick and another player to land a wing. Get er done.

2009 vs the celts didn't end in the bulls favor but a great series

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Tue Jun 30, 2015 9:36 am

Minimum deal for Gordon? Sure, why not? If he rediscovers his shooting touch, he might be able to give them some decent minutes here and there. If nothing else, maybe I can put that Gordon authentic jersey I bought in 2007 up on eBay. ;)

Talk of Butler wanting out and not getting along with Rose is definitely disheartening to hear. Sure, the Bulls can match, but if they match a one year deal, he's probably gone this time next year. Hopefully it's just been overblown.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Tue Jun 30, 2015 12:21 pm

Gordon fits the mold of the Bulls latest backups- veteran smallish guard who can get hot/poor defender. There's still hope haha

Butler taking the one year is the ultimate gamble. He's coming off of his rookie contract, there is a lot of risk leaving $90 mil on the table when he hasn't made the big bucks yet.

There's still the chance he signs a 3yr offer from, say, the lakers. There's little incentive though for them to do it. The Bulls will pretend to contemplate matching while tying up the lakers fa money for 3 days.

I don't fault Butler if he wants that new max and just does the 3yrs. It's rare to see a player this "much" into his career have the type of improvement he did. It would be absolutely nuts if he took another step in the next few years
