Great doubleheader on ESPN, two competitive games and a gamewinner to cap off the game in Denver.

LeBron's afraid to choke in the dunk contest. After all he can't team up with two other participants in the contest in order to win like he did just to finally win a ring.

Personally, I don't find LeBumb's dunks too ecstatic nor do I think he can win the dunkon. But why I'd love to see him in such contest is because of his goofy showmanship that has more entertaining values than James White's 720 dunk.

stereoxide wrote:Why would Magic want to see LeBron fail?

You can't forget Magic's a Lakers for life. He's exceptionaly fun to listen and earned tons of respect from fans and media, so whatever he says will count and add to bias that already exists among casual fans. He usually says things that media and fans expect him to say, thus staying away from hate and controversy. LeBron is from Cavs and Heat which has absolutely nothing to do with Magic, and LeBawn also is the everybody's common villain whereas Magic's always been a good guy and a Lakers.

You don't find LeBron jumping over Lucas for the alleyoop dunk during a game to be ecstatic?
Have your eyes and dunking appreciation checked please.

I don't know why many LeBron nut-huggers claim he's all that good dunker for dunk contest. Has any of them watched LeBawn in McDonald's All-American contest? He jumps high and does the easiest imaginable dunks. Big deal.

It's because he doesn't want to seriously injure himself back then and it's just and exhibition game?

Many people know James has the capability to do insane dunks in the contest.

If LeBron doesn't want to enter the dunk contest then that's his decision to make. If we're talking about injuries though, I can only recall one player who has injured themselves during the contest; Tony Dumas tweaked an already gimpy knee during the 1995 event.

The Spurs without their best player, beat the Pistons by 39. Sorry Leftos.

Since it's a fan vote in the dunk contest, LeBron would win solely on that. Jeremy Lin would prob win it too.

The Pistons aren't doing anything right as of late. The only consistent positives in this team right now are Monroe and Calderon, and both struggle defensively. Knight is trying, but he's not consistent. I'm just waiting for Drummond to get back to have some fun watching the games. Not much else anymore.

That's the main problem I'd see with it as well. If LeBron (or anyone with a large fan base) enters the competition, it's going to be skewed in their favour as soon as they get into the last round, no matter what dunk they did.

LeBron is informed that he's already won the fan vote before attempting the dunk. Drops the ball, walks off court, still wins the contest.

It is just idiotic to compare a White 720p dunk with Bron's pre-game dunk(s). He hasn't entered the contest, so you don't know what he has up his sleeve. Anyway, Bron slightly swayed out of the Magic topic:

Source: sun-sentinel

James, who has bypassed the All-Star event in each of his 10 seasons, initially shrugged off the offer made by Magic Johnson.

Sunday, Johnson, this time working in ABC's studio during the Heat's 99-93 victory over the New York Knicks, reiterated the offer.

"What I would like him to do is own NBA All-Star weekend, like [Michael] Jordan did," the Hall of Fame point guard said. "He's only owned the All-Star game itself. Come in on Saturday like you do on Sunday and own that event the way MJ did it."

Following his 29-point performance, James, who Sunday eschewed the pregame dunking theatrics that had drawn so much focus on his abilities, was asked where the offer stood.

"Right now, I don't know," he said. "It doesn't really stand anywhere. Right now, I'm so focused on what we're doing as a team."

To James, the offer appeared to come off as as much of a nuisance as those who had questioned his pregame dunking theatrics.

"Shoot, All-Star weekend is how far away?" he said of next February's showcase in New Orleans. "So I'm really not thinking about right now. It was entertaining to hear him say that, though."

In initiating the dialogue, Johnson said Friday, "Please LeBron, get in the dunk contest. I’m going to put up a million dollars. A million dollars to LeBron. Please get in the dunk contest. I go every year. I want to see you out there. A million to the winner."

What a cop out. Bron shrugged it off like he did in the interview after the Finals a couple years ago against the Mavericks.

Kobe taking over again. A couple of threes to send it to OT and a dunk in OT to take the lead.

Playing with Kwame, Smush and Walton for 3 years in his prime certainly helped in his 1 MVP award.

And that MVP came in the year that CP3 probably should have won it. He probably has a few too many All-Defensive First team selections as well.

With the way he has been performing this season, he would have surely beat Durant and won the MVP award. But damn that guy called LeBron James
