1 out of 2 isn't bad. what do you consider the lakers nucleus is???
and is this situation an unique one? a player of bryant's talent (and age) to be on a mediocre team like this one?

It's kinda silly Lakers fans wanted a win, and it was Boozer/Lin's excellence that delivered it yet people still whine.
Give credits where it's due. It's painfully obvious either Lin or Boozer was the best performer in the game.

That's what I meant. Chalk that one up to Aussie slang; possibly regional, I'm not sure if it's just where I'm from, but I'm guessing it's fairly common. In this context, phrases like "pretty ordinary" or "very ordinary" mean not very good at all.
eg.
"How was the party on Saturday?"
"It was great! We were out drinking pretty late though, so felt very ordinary the next day."
"Came down with a cold on Monday, so have felt pretty ordinary the past few days."

Ok so boozer is ordinary

That 40% Andrew referred to, is NOT quite ordinary neither it is mediocre. It is downright AWFUL because of it comes in vast volume. Check out league avg TS% and realize how others around him need to play extremely efficient basketball, even to produce league average offense. Such a team in reality has no business winning much.

You could indeed say his play is very ordinary these days.

Neither nor would have been better mr rotoworld
I do miss the "get it JO", "and1", and other boozer-isms

Good to see Shaq/Kobe exchange pleasantries before & after the asswhooping the Lakers received from GS.
The team IQ seems so low this year, bad rotations, so many fumbles and horrid shots by everyone. Season can't end soon enough as a Lakers supporter.

Clarkson/Davis are the only ones I sort of look forward to see playing. Hope X gets his shit together soon too.
Mon Nov 17, 2014 7:53 pm
Kobe with 44 on 34 shots, 3/12 from downtown. I guess he's pretty much all they've got these days, at least in terms of established, dependable talent, but still...yikes.
Mon Nov 17, 2014 9:23 pm
Kobe's really chasing that #3 scoring record.
Tue Nov 18, 2014 6:51 am
This game was garbage time after the first half. That didn't prevent Kobe from shooting though even when team was down by 30. Lin apparently isn't happy after finishing the game with 0 point 1 assist in 22 minutes. He talked about 'trust' and some bullshit after the game.

Because not taking shots is a good idea when you're down by 30, the other team will just shoot the ball in their own basket to let the team catch up.
Tue Nov 18, 2014 7:55 am
Watching him just gun his way to big points in reality, while his team is down by 30, is little sad. If you thought his past teammates didn't like him, wait until we start hearing from these guys. I'm guessing Monday might be the day Kobe shows up in Jimmy Buss' office and demands a trade to the Knicks.

Nash's Open Letter To The Lakers Fanshttps://www.facebook.com/stevenash?hc_location=timelineI definitely don't want to be a distraction, but I felt it best everyone heard from me in my own words.
I have a ton of miles on my back. Three buldging disks (a tear in one), stenosis of the nerve route and spondylolisthesis. I suffer from sciatica and after games I often can't sit in the car on the drive home, which has made for some interesting rides. Most nights I'm bothered by severe cramping in both calves while I sleep, a result of the same damn nerve routes, and the list goes on somewhat comically. That's what you deserve for playing over 1,300 NBA games. By no means do I tell you this for sympathy - especially since I see these ailments as badges of honor - but maybe I can bring some clarity.
I've always been one of the hardest workers in the game and I say that at the risk of what it assumes. The past 2 years I've worked like a dog to not only overcome these setbacks but to find the form that could lift up and inspire the fans in LA as my last chapter. Obviously it's been a disaster on both fronts but I've never worked harder, sacrificed more or faced such a difficult challenge mentally and emotionally.
I understand why some fans are disappointed. I haven't been able to play a lot of games or at the level we all wanted. Unfortunately that's a part of pro sports that happens every year on every team. I wish desperately it was different. I want to play more than anything in the world. I've lost an incredible amount of sleep over this disappointment.
Competitiveness, professionalism, naiveté and hope that at some point I'd turn a corner has kept me fighting to get back. As our legendary trainer Gary Vitti, who is a close friend, told me, 'You're the last to know' - and my back has shown me the forecast over the past 18-20 months. To ignore it any longer is irresponsible. But that doesn't mean that life stops.
This may be hard for people to understand unless you've played NBA basketball, but there is an incredible difference between this game and swinging a golf club, hiking, even hitting a tennis ball or playing basketball at the park. Fortunately those other activities aren't debilitating, but playing an NBA game usually puts me out a couple of weeks. Once you're asked to accelerate and decelerate with Steph Curry and Kyrie Irving it is a completely different demand.
I'm doing what I've always done which is share a bit of my off-court life in the same way everyone else does. Going forward I hope we all can refocus our energies on getting behind these Lakers. This team will be back and Staples will be rocking.
@SBNationNBA: The Lakers want Steve Nash to be a mentor. One problem: Nash won't return Byron Scott's calls:
http://t.co/QqhkJvJ8Wa http://t.co/b5RP0SBLWwThe Lakers should trade Nash for Irving then maybe LBJ can win a 3rd ring.
Tue Nov 18, 2014 10:02 am
I think Irving in uniform is still better than Nash in street clothes.

Nash-Scott->televisa presenta
When did someone actually enjoy Kobe as a teammate? He's pretty much repelled every single teammate he's had troughout his career.
Tue Nov 18, 2014 8:27 pm
Does he even have a friend?
Tue Nov 18, 2014 8:32 pm
Does his family even like him ?
Tue Nov 18, 2014 8:53 pm
I recall that he was estranged from his parents after he got married, but I believed they've since reconciled.

Kobe sued his mom last year when she auctioned off his HS memorabilia because it was taking up space (Kobe's old room) in his parents house.
They have settled the lawsuit afaik.
Still, not exactly a happy family.
Wed Nov 19, 2014 4:36 am
Suing was funny but the story was even more laughable iirc. Kobe's mom was upset because Kobe bought Vanessa's mom a multi mil dollar house at the time so she asked Kobe to buy her a house in Vegas. Kobe said he would, for way less than 1 mil house but this made her upset so she went off to sell kobe's junks in attempt to buy herself a better house. Kobe's side of story was that she asked continuously too much.

Even with the shitty record, Lakers are still unbeaten against the East.
