they could give the Bobcats pick as well which is top 10 protected in 2014 and top 8 protected in 2015 though im not sure if it is actually protected since this year, the Bulls had the 20th pick when it was top 12 pick protected...

I'd love to see the Bulls make that trade as well, but I can't see it ever happening.

As far as the point guard situation is concerned...well, they have a pretty good solution in a returning Derrick Rose. Rose has apparently indicated that he'll be ready for the pre-season, so combined with Thibbs noting that he looked like his old self in a workout a month or so back and word that he's been working on his jumpshot during his rehabilitation, their rotation at point guard (hopefully) shouldn't be much of a concern this year.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

yea, thing that im a bit concerned about is Taj Gibson, Carlos Boozer still has two years and I feel that Taj Gibson isnt going to last in Chicago for a bit more. He (Taj) still has 4 years which is a lot and I think it really is about time to let him go at the starting position I feel he is really matured now but hes freethrows is a bit questionable tho, maybe trade Boozer for a player that can shoot decent but can still do the job done when it comes to defense.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

I don't know but I reckon it is much better if we can get Aldridge rather than Love. We already have a facilitator in Noah and Aldridge is a better post threat than Love and is a better defender.

Pity that the management didn't do anything about that trade exception we got from the Korver trade.....

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Mon Jul 22, 2013 5:08 pm

I'd be fine with them picking up Aldridge, though I don't think the Blazers are going to be any keener on taking Boozer than the Timberwolves.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Mon Jul 22, 2013 5:55 pm

Maybe they can have a 3rd team with it. One i saw was with Houston involved:

Chicago gets: LaMarcus

Portland get: Asik + Taj

Houston get: Deng + future draft pick

Portland will have 2 top notch defensive big men and Houston will have an expiring contract in Deng. Not bad IMO...

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Mon Jul 22, 2013 9:05 pm

Yeah, that one's not bad for all involved. I'm guessing they'd definitely look to move Boozer if possible or perhaps even amnesty him, should that go down.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Mon Jul 22, 2013 9:18 pm

Hasn't this years amnesty deadline already expired?

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Mon Jul 22, 2013 10:29 pm

Come to think of it, you're right. Scratch that, then. If I recall correctly that was their last opportunity, so Boozer's either getting traded or playing out his contract in Chicago.

There he goes...

http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci_23708580/nate-robinson-sign-deal-denver-nuggets

Reserve guard Nate Robinson has agreed to sign with the Nuggets for two seasons, a league source confirmed Monday.
The source confirmed that the two-year deal is for the bi-annual salary cap exception, which is $4.03 million combined.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

That's a shame, but not unexpected with a couple of other point guards on the roster and given the fact they're already paying the luxury tax. Still, I'd prefer him to Teague and while Hinrich can do some good things while he's healthy, he's a few years older than Robinson and a lot more banged up. Still, if the Bulls are losing Nate Robinson but getting a healthy and supposedly improved Derrick Rose back, that's a trade-off that still works in their favour.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Tue Jul 23, 2013 1:26 pm

a lot of us obviously would want Nate to comeback if hes going to show what he does in 4th quarter against the Nets every single game, but thats the thing Nate is a bit inconsistent, he could heat up pretty fast and when hes cold. best of luck to him.

I think backup pg or sg should be a concern heading into the season

ff Hinrich is the backup PG, then you have Dunleavy, who is better suited as SF/stretch Pf, and the unproven rookie Snell as the backup SG.

if Hinrich is the backup SG, then you have the unproven Teague as the backup PG.

then again, Jimmy Buckets was playing 48mins per during the playoffs :lame:

Fair call. It certainly wouldn't hurt to pick up another capable vet or two on the cheap to help out in the backcourt, though no names spring immediately to mind. Any ideas?

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jul 25, 2013 4:48 pm

Leandro Barbosa? hes more like a PG though

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jul 25, 2013 4:50 pm

If you are thinking of guys like Nate who came very cheap the answer would be no. At least I can't think of any who'll fit into Thibs defensive scheme.
Names that could be considered would be Leando Barbosa or Rodrigue Beaubois.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Barbosa might be alright as a short term option, if he's recovered from his knee injury. Ideally, Teague would pull a Butler, but it's not something to put all your stock in.

if the bulls do sign another pg, it is exactly that. they are picking from the bottom of the barrel.... offering a minimum salary no less lol.

I think the bulls use the last roster spot on a big man. Thibbs has already gone on record saying he will keep Deng & Noah's minutes down this year. Gibson does get a full offseason to get healthy and Nazr is supposedly back but the bulls still need another legit sized center to clog the middle. Jason Collins anyone?

It seems they're pursuing Camby

yea.. him being a very good defensive player in his era might teach Noah a bit more on defense we'll see but first that's gotta happen not a bad choice i think

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Camby is off to Houston, so he won't be with the Bulls.

Glancing at a few news items on RealGM, I see that Snell is getting some comparisons to Kawhi Leonard. I'm guessing that's jumping the gun so let's not get ahead of ourselves, but I certainly wouldn't mind if he turned out that way.

and even to Scottie.... maybe it's the fact that the Bulls has been getting gems in the draft the past years that's why some fans are having these assumptions.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Mon Jul 29, 2013 3:06 pm

Possibly, though it could just be that a play or two or something about the playing style is reminiscent of a more established player. It's not a bad way of describing a player to someone who hasn't seen them play, to give them an idea of how they play and what their strengths and weaknesses are, but once the names start being dropped there's often an implied or assumed comparison in level of skill as well.
