The best player on the team and one of the main reasons they had such a good year?

Maybe he's talking about being the central piece of the team. Well ,Rose has to slowly return to his full form and in those three games he has to play more and more and start taking more and more duties.

All in all good win against the Mavs yesterday. Not a fancy game for the Bulls, but they played some concentrated game of hoops, though they still lack the passion they had in the previous month. Hopefully they are going to start they playoffs stronger and more passionate, like the Bulls' team we all know.

Fair enough. Even so, I think everything will be fine in that regard. Hopefully his ankle holds up and Deng can continue to play well through his wrist and rib injuries.

I was saying that Rose approached this game differently versus how he did after his groin injury. He let the offense flow instead of forcing his presence by scoring. Although probably using last season as a comparison was dumb on my part, it was more of pointing out they have a more all around game where everyone was contributing instead of him carrying. If that carries over into the playoffs the can be more prepared for those situations.

Fair enough. I still don't think it'll be a problem with Rose in the long run; health, depth and the ability to play better than the sum of their parts will determine how far they go this postseason and where they may stumble.

I still believe the Bulls will make it as far as the Eastern Conference Finals. Defense is not a problem, consistent offense is. If they can get past the Heat, Spurs and thunder are easier especially on homecourt.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

If they can stay as healthy as possible, Eastern Conference Finals definitely isn't an unreasonable expectation.

if they are healthy they are expected to make the final four. miami is resting the big 2.5. the #1 seed is all but locked up

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Looks like Indiana are resting their main guys as well, so there's a good chance they'll lock up #1 before the finale at home against the Cavs. It should hopefully give them an opportunity to limit minutes for Rose and Deng, too.

Bulls locked up the top seed in the east after Boston beat Miami. I wonder if they'll try and beat the Spurs or rest players with the idea they won't need home court if they actually face them in the finals. (if they get that far that is...)

Two successive years, Bulls and Spurs have topped the East and West Standings. Awesome. :D

Yep, now all they have to do is prove they are the best of the west and east by going all the way in the playoffs...

Now it's the only thing the Bulls and Spurs are fighting for is the League's Top Team.

Starters are playing against Indiana, so it looks like they're looking to lock up home court throughout the Playoffs if they can. They own the tiebreaker with the Spurs having beaten them in the two teams' only meeting this season, so a tie will obviously do as well.

Good win against the Pacers, if the Bulls win tomorrow they'll have home court against anyone in the playoffs.

It was a good win but it's still a tie with the Spurs!

EDIT: Reworked this entire post.

The division standing only matters to seeding. When teams meet up in the playoffs it's determined by other measures including record and head-to-head. This is why in 2004 the #2 seeded 47-35 Nets started on the road against the #3 seeded 54-28 Pistons. It's also why the #1 seeded 56-26 Sixers (who were 18-6 against their division) started on the road against the #2 seeded 56-26 Lakers (who were 14-10 against their division).

If the tiebreaker in the Finals is head-to-head, then isn't my original statement correct?

The spammer got in the way. I was responding to koberulz.

Never mind. Andrew's post is lacking a comma. 'They own the tiebreaker, with the Spurs having beaten them in the two teams' only meeting' and 'They own the tiebreaker with the Spurs, having beaten them in the two teams' only meeting' mean completely opposite things. Andrew clearly meant the latter, I initially read it as the former.

Carry on.

Ending the season in style, getting complete homecourt advantage, and now of to the play-offs!!
Ending the season with a White Mamba shot as well, was they way to get going to the post-season.

And now for the motivating part: A little speech from Scal
