Not this year, there will be back to backs in the second round.

But as Rick Carlisle said: " They grow more confident as they beat up more people."
So, if the Lakers can create some momentum in the first round, they can be still good.
If Andrew can mature, Pau can attack the rim more often (I'm a PF Jump Shooting Hater, but Dirk is an exception), and Kobe,Ramon,Metta can stay healthy. This team is as good as any team. But their bench needs to step up. Goudelock should be played more often. I know it will not be easy cause they will face some fast-paced teams like the Grizz and the Rockets, so it will be a test for them. But I'm still pretty confident about this team.
BTW, 5-4 in their last 9 home games.

Houston isn't afraid of the Lakers. They can face any team in the first round.

I agree. Houston is a great threat to the Lakers when it comes to fastbreak points and three point buckets. However, with respect to playoff experience, Lakers have proven that they can beat the young OKC who relied on the very same strategy as the Rockets now posses. Just not this season.
For me: LAL 4-2 HOU
The real threat to the Lakers:
NO.1 OKC
NO.2 SAS
NO.3 MEM

THAT MEMPHIS, BOY. Oh am i afraid of an asswhooping they might deliver to us if we meet...

You won't be meeting anyone..

The Lakers will do just fine as long as they score 21 or more points in every quarters. Lolz.

Obnoxious. You have a
fancy table to prove that? The Lakers win 84.21% if scores more than 21 points per quarter. Proven with a table. End of discussion. Loloollol.

I agree definitely! And thats just the top of the iceberg.
1. Injured Kobe Bryant
2. Andrew Bynum
3. rotation
4. bench production

When will the Lakers Win?Least Score per Quarter | WIN | LOSS | WIN % | LOSS % |
21 or more | 17 | 3 | 85 | 15 |
20 | 3 | 2 | 60.0 | 40.0 |
19 | 3 | 5 | 37.5 | 62.5 |
18 | 3 | 5 | 37.5 | 62.5 |
17 and below | 10 | 9 | 52.63 | 47.37 |
*this includes 2 pre-season games against the clippers
*excluding scores from overtime/double overtimeApril 9, 2012 Los Angeles Lakers | 21 | 23 | 21 | 28 |
New Orleans Hornets | 19 | 24 | 29 | 19 |
Lakers win when they scored 21 points. I've proven that 17 times this season. Offense alone? YES! Lakers have no defense strategy baby! Lakers rely on their Petronas Twin Towers and they call that defense already.
Were talking about a team who will go out and out score you in any way. And they have a closer who wins games to seal it off. Thats Kobe Bryant.
Why do some teams win against the Lakers? because they play offense AND defense.
Wanna see some cool defense? No not the HEAT Chicago Bulls | 22 | 26 | 12 | 25 |
Orlando Magic | 14 | 19 | 15 | 11 |

Is Mike Brown that bad, though? Why do u guys think management hired him then, just for fun? XD Our bench sucks major balls, but Ramon Sessions has been BALLING. He is that X Factor. Dude plays so smart, if u watch bballbreakdown video, he just makes all the right decisions with the ball, he can both penetrate and knock a 3, and he feeds the bigs well.

Objection you honor! Why? Its impertinent, irrelevant and immaterial you honor! Why?
No basis your honor?! If you look closely to the data, your honor, the counsel is just biased to the fact that he is a Miami heat fan. Who inevitably lost to the Boston Celtics yesterday your honor. And as a matter of fact, he is just upset your honor.
Why? they lost 115 to 107 at the match, and it is clear your honor that with the aforesaid manifestation , your honor, he is venting on the Lakers thread to release his frustration on a Team that has nothing to do, whatsoever to the said match.
Your honor please, I am disheartened to fact that this has happened.
And with the kind indulgence of the presiding officer, may I move to strike out the manifestation of the counsel your honor? as it is impertinent, irrelevant and immaterial your honor.

I do not dislike Coach Brown, its just that with the playoffs looming in the corner, his rotations are still mediocre and if not really bad. We cant really change the fact that its just a 66 game season, but in Lakerland, not winning the title is a failure.
And we have problems with players not wanting to play for him. And thats young Andrew Bynum. And I cant blame him since Phil Jackson had issues with young Kobe before. And it took a long time to get to winning back again.
Seriously, the Lakers is the underdog to win the Finals this season. I think the Spurs and the Thunder out west can represent, while the Heat and Bulls in the east. But NBA is a business, so I'd say Spurs vs Heat and Spurs win again. Looks like the NETS' back to back loss in the Finals all over again? I think so.

123rockstar, I know you are upset with me because I been making fun of your tables and logic. But you see. You keep on spamming the same meaningless tables over and over, which says pretty much close to nothing.
123rockstar wrote:Lakers win when they scored 21 points. I've proven that 17 times this season. Offense alone? YES!
This is something stupidly obvious. 17 times proved? Thank you how noice. Now tell us what are win% when the Lakers score more than 22 points, or 23, or 24, and so on. Percentages are to go up, right? Total opposite happens if you start to include lower numbers like 20 points or more gives you 80% win percentage, and gets lesser as you go down the numbers. I don't see how 21 point mark is so god damn amazing or significant as all it tells us is that Lakers win more if they score more. In that you proved 17 times of something that's 100% obvious even to 5 years old.
And then you go onto say things like...
123rockstar wrote:Why do some teams win against the Lakers? because they play offense AND defense.
Wowsers! When teams play offense and defense, they effing win. Genius. What haven't anyone thought of that?
You don't have to be so persistent on things that were already proven when this sport was born. Can't you obviously see people just stopped caring after making a few jokes on it and eventually growing tired of it? To a point where it's beyond stupidity that this thread became frustrating even to the Lakers fans. I understand Jackal's reasons to be upset. He's one of a few remaining true Lakers fans that makes much sense around here these days. Gonna mention about koberulz as well, as he brings out valiant points time to time. For me, these guys at least bring something that's worth a discussion(constructive) while yours it's all about... you.
I can't believe nobody pointed all that I said to you already but perhaps people already turned on no-bother mode by now.

Hats off to Bynum for his career high 30 rebounds in a very impressive victory over the Spurs.

I agree. Beat the Spurs record for opponents rebound in a game. Awesome. Finally World Peace is ballin. 26 for my Strong ROn.... I mean Metta.
