Quite right, they did actually close that loophole. I stand corrected.

Under the 2011 CBA, a player acquired in a trade and waived by his new team cannot re-sign with his original team until one year after the trade or July 1 after the expiration of his contract, whichever is sooner.

ANOTHER BACK-To-BACK DEFEATs!!!1

What the fuck is wrong with the Lakers .. their offense is too buggy during crunch time... sessions plays very well though ...

Well, 2 teams we lost to were decent, at least, and we did not defend well because we felt we could ourscore them, mostly cuz of the hot 1st quarter.

BTW, Pinoy or Russian, bro?

Bynum out with two technicals and Kobe again with some ugly shooting. The comeback kings lost despite a lead in the 4th.
Btw. Blake's numbers seems to be even worse than Fish's when he starts at PG...

The Lakers have 100% change of winning, if they score more than 20 in 1 quarter,
60% change of winning, if they score only 20 in 1 quarter,
50% change of winning, if they score only 19 in 1 quarter.

The only exception is against the MAVS, where the Lakers only scored 7 points in the 3rd quarter. Thanks to Derek Fisher dropping a late game 3 pointer, which eventually won the game by only three points.

Lakers were at home, they had Derek Fisher, but tonight is a different story. They are on the road, they dont have Derek Fisher. Will the Lakers put a stop to their 2 game losing streak? Or will the mavs have their revenge? Tune in to ESPN @ 9:30pm!

Great game against the Mavs. Kobe can still hit the basket and Bynum seems to be a little retarded these days. Nice performance from Sessions. Nearly a double double of the bench.

Well, thats a good win by the Lakers. That makes it 13 games that the Lakers scored 20+ as their least scored buckets in a quarter. Thus, I confirm that as long as the Lakers cannot score more than 20 points in a single quarter, they are more likely going to lose.

Thus the stats stands:
The Lakers have 100% change of winning, if they score more than 20 in 1 quarter,
60% change of winning, if they score only 20 in 1 quarter,
50% change of winning, if they score only 19 in 1 quarter.

Next up Portland :D

Great game over the Mavs ...
Sessions had 17 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds ...

Fisher can't provide that!
But, wtf is wrong with Blake?
Anyway, finally a route in the road for the Lakers!
Hasn't been doing this for a long time ...

Well, to be honest, Blake is almost the same kind of player Derek Fisher always was, which is why i din't understand why we traded Fisher and not Blake, since Fisher can at least hit a clutch 3 (proven) and also is just a veteran. Lakers got owned, because they did not even talk to Fisher about not starting for them, they ASSUMED he was gonna say no. Then he goes to Oklahoma and says "yes, of course". And now we have Blake be our starter... Dafuq?

Lakers really had a great night against the Blazers! Image And Kobe no longer wears his mask Image

Impressive, not only because of all the Alley-oops made by Pau Gasol to Andrew Bynum; but as a team, they managed to win the game despite scoring just 18 points in the 3rd. At that time, I never thought the Lakers could win despite leading a few points. Statistics will show that the Lakers have a 28.57% chance of winning if being held just 18 points in a quarter.

What was your favourite plays of the game? I'll take Matt Barnes Alley-oop to Josh McRoberts and Metta World Peace's dunk on J.J Hickson Image

On the other hand, J.J. Hickson really played well being a new signed Free Agent. Oops, forgot to add him in the list! Image

Most humans don't really understand probability.
Monty Hall problem.
Also the power of 1%. 5% too. 10% even.

Visually astounding thread. Instead of players names we are seeing high quality gif images and not to mention those neat tables which aren't actually created by benji. The Lakers fans are stepping up.

Re: Lakers Thread

So the Lakers are better off scoring 0 points in a quarter than 18 or 19. Who knew!

Wait, points scored in what quarter? What's the probability they win if they score 18-18-18-21 in the four quarters?

Is anybody optimistic about the Lakers taking home the silverware this season?

Blake_Bryant wrote:Is anybody optimistic about the Lakers taking home the silverware this season?

In this season, i say anybody can make a run, and hell, when Lakers lose you can see why and it can get fixed, unlike some other teams who lose just because they are not good enough. We are good enough, and if match-ups in the playoffs go our way and we HUSTLE unlike we did the season before, we can do it. In Ramon I trust :D
