With the minutes he received, they won two rings. Without him, second round sweep. Blame the front office, not Phil.

The whole offense just annoys me. It was so much fun watching the triangle offense. I mean it's been there since Shaq was in town & it's just so much fun watching the big guys make such crafty passes.

The offense now is just stagnant. Iso's for Kobe & a high-low for Gasol/Bynum. It works I guess but it's not really fun to watch personally speaking. I kind of miss Shaw.

I know that they have to adjust with the new offense ... But after 27 games ... where is the adjustment . And Kobe is shooting like a one-man wrecking crew ... Like the game a while ago , they need someone to facilitate the offense. The guards can't get the ball to either Pau or Andrew, as a result they were beaten in the paint and lost the game. They need that facilitator. In the triangle, the offense is the facilitator, that's the difference. But I think we still have a number of games left. I will never loose hope that they could get another ring. They just have to win games, gain momentum and play like champions, but they are nowhere near that right now. I have to agree that Mike Brown sucks. That's why LeBron never won a ring in Cleveland.

it's possible they cut Caracter before his contract became guaranteed and they might bring him back after a trade on a 10-day or something.

Interesting note on Kobe's clutch shooting:

Kobe's game-winner last night raises his clutch-time FG% to 28 pct (17 of 61) -- the lowest FG% among 18 guys w/ 25 or more clutch attempts.

That low? I knew he wasn't as good as the media always insist, but Jaesus Christ that makes the 'LeBron for the first 43 minutes, Kobe for the last 5' argument look retarded.

Depends on the measurement though, you can either make Kobe look good or bad. I read a stat analysis sometime last season regarding performace of final 5 minutes of games, and Kobe was atop the league and Bron was significantly behind in ranking(though it wasn't even nearly to a point where you can call him a choker).

That's only for this season, which has included some tough nights shooting the ball for him from start to finish. I'd say his all-time numbers in that department are much better.

Also, I'm sure that statistic is for game ending shots and not the entire 5 minutes.

We're not talking game winning shots here, we're talking his shooting percentage during clutch time (4th quarter or overtime, less than 5 minutes left, neither team ahead by more than 5 points). In those situations, he's shooting 28% from the field which needless to say isn't that great and I'd suggest below his standard.

Talking about "below standard", anyone else here who'd like to chase the World Peace out of LA? What a devastating season he is having, only with the exclusion of last game...

I'm sure we are all aware of Kobe's lackluster performance for this entire season and not just clutch moments.

He had a really good start into the season but should've realized by now that he won't win a ring this season, if he stays the Lakers...
