With the Lakers' loss to the Celtics, the Bulls and Heat are now tied for the third best record in the league. (Y)

Stacey King's commentating is always gold, nothing tops what he yelled out during Rose's brutal execution on Dragic though

It was only intended for the Bulls. ;) In any case they're in fourth place now, third in the East, as Miami's win today puts them half a game ahead.

Remember my early season's prediction thread, how i said the bulls would be 3rd in the east. And i think that's where they'll finish by the end of the year. Chicago is going to be very very good when Joahkim Noah is healthy and ready to play, watch out central, watch out for the bulls.

I think most people had them pegged to be third or fourth in the East. I think I picked them to finish fourth, they've certainly exceeded my expectations so far especially given the injuries to Boozer and Noah.

Really, really good win against the Clips today. Rose was Rose. Deng was firing on all cylinders and Taj was very decent off the bench.

i think what's most telling about their record is being 10-9 against teams over .500. in the East- aside from boston, they are the only team with a winning record. and they've beaten all the top teams in the West (Y)

Bad loss to the Warriors. Hope they can rebound and pick up a couple more wins on this road trip; easier said than done as the Blazers, Jazz and Hornets are all pretty good at home, particularly the Hornets this year. The Jazz game is being shown here this week so I'll be watching that one.

Tough loss...
The team totally collapsed in the 4th quarter, and Monta did everything he wanted on the court...
Hopefully we can get a couple of wins against the Blazers and either the Jazz or the Hornets, but as you said Andrew, they're tough teams at home...

yeh. GSW outplayed them in the 4th. gotta give them all the credit. they sure didn't look like the team we beat by 30 last time

btw- since James Johnson was sent to the d-league, did the team bring anyone to fill his roster spot??

good job to hold off the Jazz. Rose was great in a more or less solo performance. Scored well, and perhaps more importantly, was great defensively against D-Will. That last minute steal to stop the break was awesome!!

Asik was impressive off the bench in a "watch the games" sort of way. Got some key offensive boards, and was largely responsible for minimizing the rebounding differential in the 2nd half.

Boozer was just... bad. He just provides nothing defensively, which is going to absolutely destroy them when they eventually have to face Miami or Boston in the playoffs, and that worries me. He just seems too terrified or unwilling to leave his feet to contest a shot, and it's actually hard to watch sometimes.

Absolutely, great hustle on that play. A couple of bad attempts brought his shooting percentage down but otherwise a fine game for Rose at both ends. I know what you mean about Asik; what about that dunk attempt after putting the ball on the floor? I liked the move, that would've been great had he been able to finish, but a good strong move to draw the foul all the same. I'm optimistic about Asik, he still needs a lot of polish but as I said in a previous post I think he could become a solid backup for Noah.

Totally agree about Boozer, the Jazz did a good job bothering him inside. However, he still averages double digits in rebounds and along with Deng gives the Bulls another capable scorer beyond Rose; hopefully when Noah's back and patrolling the paint, it'll cover for Boozer's defensive deficiencies.

How about boozer's defense late in the game? Hehe. those trio of steals. I think on 3 straight possessions. Wow.

Almost seems like boozer just doesn't want to play defense on some nites. I agree with andrew. Noah is a much better match thern old crazy eyes for boozer

How about rose's 'd' on deron williams? I was thinking that bogans or even brewer was goin to get the assignment in the 4th. But thibbs stuck w/ him and he did a good job.

2-2 on the road trip. Chris paul next.

Gibson on Team Chicago in All-Star’s Shooting Stars

Team Chicago is comprised of the Chicago Bulls’ Taj Gibson, who will represent the Sophomores in the 2011 T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam to be held Feb. 18 at Staples Center; the Chicago Sky’s Cathrine Kraayveld, one the WNBA’s best long-range shooters; and TNT NBA Analyst Steve Kerr, a five-time NBA champion with the Chicago Bulls (1996-98) and San Antonio Spurs (1999, 2003).

Not that I'm that excited by the event, I'd still drop it in favour of lengthening the dunk contest, but nice to see Kerr representing the Bulls. I would've picked Korver over Gibson for an event like this but hey, it's just the Shooting Stars.
