Was just about to post this. Damn, Lakers can't get a break this year, they should be glad 2012 starts soon. Both Pau and Kobe had private problems. We ain't winning shit this season or we winning it all cuz Pau and Kobe got their motivation XD

But seriously, i feel sorry for their marriage, after 2004 or whatever that year was, u'd think they can go thru anything

Supposedly he cheated again and she's had enough.

It's another distraction that Kobe and the Lakers don't need after a pretty rough week but perhaps basketball will provide Kobe with a welcome distraction from his personal issues, I'd expect him to be in usual form when the season tips off.

Of course. It's Stephen A. Smith.

I smell bromance for Pau and Kobe.
You Laker fans can feel relieved for Pau knowing that he'll enter the season and probably play like a beast again because of that recent development.
I wouldn't be surprised if Kobe divorced her just to make Pau happy and make the team better again. It's a possibility because Kobe is cerebral.
Such heart and dedication to the team and to winning. [/joy]

GODDAMMIT KOBE. No wonder his father was pissed at him. Kobe should have listened to his father.

Maybe she will start her own cheer leader squad or go on a basketball wives reality show.

so, when do we get Dwight Howard again???? oh yeah... riiiight. i think trading Odom prematurely (or rather trying to trade him in the Paul debacle) fucked this in the goat ass.

Re: Lakers Thread

It really feels like one of those episodes on TV shows where EVERYTHING GOES WRONG, but the protagonists still come out on top XD Let's see if this ish works in real-life

Re: Lakers Thread

Sun Dec 18, 2011 11:13 pm

No more Odom
No more Shannon
No more Chi master Phil
An old Gasol
An older Fisher
A divorced Kobe
Bynum without his beloved fatty self
Ron Artest " Retarded Retartest" now known as Metta World Peace

lakers should bring back mbenga and adam morison to get things bak on track

Re: Lakers Thread

LMFAO, people on Russian Forums love to joke about that. Lakers should bring back the Machine, Adam and Mbenga and trade Scalabrine for Kobe XD

On a serious note, who is up for Arenas? One of my fav. players before his many injuries. If he reinvents himself in LA, him and Kobe would be a pretty dominant and shot-heavy backcourt, but he is a also a good passer and clutch shot-maker. Also, an asset if any trades will need to go down

No, he's Russian.

Re: Lakers Thread

Wasn't Arenas supposed to re-invent himself in Orlando, too? With his lingering knee issues, I think it's going to take a personality/attitude transplant and plenty of good luck health-wise for Arenas to be a productive role player in LA or anywhere else.

Re: Lakers Thread

Mon Dec 19, 2011 5:04 pm

Well if the Lakers sign Arenas, I think it would be an experiment that would be intriguing. After signing Green and McRoberts, they could possibly field Arenas, Kobe, Green, McRoberts possbily Gasol at 5 or Peace at 4. And see how that goes. With the team they have now, they can could possible go fast, or go tall. Having only fisher and blake as options at PG, it might be a worthwhile gamble.

With regards to other player movement, why the hell didn't the Lakers amnesty Walton?

Re: Lakers Thread

Mon Dec 19, 2011 5:39 pm

He's refusing to retire even though he's not expected to play again. No reason to waste the amnesty if the guy leaves on his own.

Re: Lakers Thread

Tue Dec 20, 2011 3:45 am

At Shadow- i mean, IF he re-invents himself. I like Arenas, i know i'm biased, he was one of my favs to watch. If he comes of the bench for like 30 mins a game like Lamar did he could slowly start picking it up. I don't believe he lost it just yet

Re: Lakers Thread

Tue Dec 20, 2011 10:28 am

He hasn't done a lot to show that he hasn't lost it but in all fairness there may be something left in the tank. I'm not sure signing him would do the Lakers too many favours but it'd be a low risk experiment on a one year deal, so it wouldn't hurt them too much in the long run to give it a shot.

Re: Lakers Thread

Looking good in the first quarter vs Clips, Josh McRoberts welcome to the Lakers! You too, Morris, i don't like ur shots, but u keep making em like that i can't say nothin! (Y)

Re: Lakers Thread

Tue Dec 20, 2011 3:32 pm

Clippers startes vs Lakers bench (mostly) = bad 3rd quarter. I guess it is ok, turnovers will need to go down, of course

Re: Lakers Thread

Tue Dec 20, 2011 4:23 pm

lakers looked very disjointed on defense, leaving guys wide open for 3 and making careless turnovers on offense. CP3 almost had a triple double in 24 mins of action

Re: Lakers Thread

Lakers really need a PG more than they need Dwight Howard!! Mike Brown doesn't know how to run an offense!!!

That's what I thought.

Re: Lakers Thread

Wed Dec 21, 2011 2:38 am

The Clippers are really fun to watch, but I don't think anything can be taken from any of these pre-season games. Their lack of depth will be their undoing in this dense of a season.

The Lakers need to acquire somebody if they still want to contend, but they should still be more than competent and finish above the other LA team for the sixth straight year.

Re: Lakers Thread

Wed Dec 21, 2011 4:08 am

I'm still thinking about which team will finish above the other, but I do agree that we should take these 2 games with a grain of salt. The Lakers will likely make some moves to get even some better role players, and I'm sure they're still gonna have a good year.
