Shoot i'm good with an Artest and Kobe tandem. Phil is the man when it comes to nut cases, all he needs to do is just give Artest some of that Zen babble that he fed the Lakers during the early 2000's.

Too bad Red Auerbach would probably rise from his gave and bitchslap Larry Bird if he ever gave the lakers a duo that good. Oh, wait, the old fart's still alive.

Anything new on the Artest thing?

He's most likely headed to Golden State.

Fri Jan 06, 2006 1:39 pm

if he goes to gs imagine how great golden state would be. With Baron Davis , Jason Richardson , Ron Artest , and Derek Fisher they might even make the playoffs and win a series!

Anyways I have been on vacation so I have been thrown a bit off track when following sports. I think the Lakers played back to back games against Utah and lost both , I'm not sure. Now LA is under .500 :) The way things are going , will this team make the playoffs? Unless they got Artest , no , and even if they did I don't think that would be enough.

They also didn't have their leading scorer in both games. I am sensing a pattern here....no leading scorer then lose games.....I think I am starting to get it now.

"leading scorer" didn't miss the past 5 games all which LA lost

Sat Jan 07, 2006 3:14 am

They need to get back to the way they were playing on the 6 game roadtrip in December. They went 5-1 on the ROAD against 5 .500 plus teams, theyve been having problems at home as of late. Can't close out games, probably the innexperience of the team, jittery, trying to do too much. Need Aaron McKie back again, with Laron Profit (who had been playing well as Kobe's backup) out with surgery.

You have that commercial? Can you up it for us?

And it can't be his rook season, it was probably 2001 or something cause I remember he tried to make an album but it never came out. And he met his wife on the set of the k.o.b.e. video, in 2001 or so, so its either a little before that or some time after that.

the song was ok. nothing special but at least he didnt make a fool out of himself.

btw, the hold me verse sounded amateur.

nah I don't have that commercial.. but I still remembered some of the words.

and I was talking about his appearance on Brian McKnight's album in 1996 or 97, not the video of him rapping.

I didn't say that he wins every game for them. However, I don't think it is a major feat to beat a team who is missing their best player and quite often their only player.

Sat Jan 07, 2006 12:10 pm

quite often their only player.

Yeah, watching a five on one game is just a turn on. Can't wait to watch The Pistons vs The Kobe.

Sat Jan 07, 2006 5:24 pm

Kobe did pretty well today and got a lot of help from teammates. Odom 12 assists, Smush 24 points (albeit 21 in the first half). Also, Kobe youngest player to score 15000 points.

Sat Jan 07, 2006 6:43 pm

another wonderful Kobe feat...which might be beaten by LeBron

...Will be beaten by Lebron. Oh well, I will enjoy it til he catches up.

Sun Jan 08, 2006 1:16 am

Wow, Kobe & Smush 12/12 from 3pt :x

Sun Jan 08, 2006 6:01 am

man the one thing i love about kobe is his sheer confidence.. during the first meeting between the sixers and lakers, iguodala virtually locked him down. tonight he just came out firing -- ended up with 7 three pointers (7-7) and 48 points. no mercy on iguodala, just fucking killed him.

Sun Jan 08, 2006 6:58 am

Fucking killed him! 8-) Takes #1 spot for PPG

Sun Jan 08, 2006 9:22 am

It was good to see Smush break out like that.

Sun Jan 08, 2006 9:35 am

The Lakers better not rely on 3 pt shooting... it's rare that they have a great game shooting 3's

I wouldnt expect them to.

Sun Jan 08, 2006 12:19 pm

a good matchup on TNT this coming Thursday (US time)=Lakers vs. Cavs

i hope kobe doesnt get injured against while playing the cavs...in 2004 he separated his shouler, last year he severely sprained his ankle

Sun Jan 08, 2006 3:48 pm

Seems the L.A. are on there way to another victory of L.A. Kobe has topped 40 again.

edit: I think I spoke too quick, its a tight game now and he has touched 50. Waaaaay too many shots though.

Sun Jan 08, 2006 4:13 pm

50 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists
with a clutch running jumper to put them in the lead for good

but i agree, too many shots -- 17-41 shooting. 7/15 threes ain't bad though.

Sun Jan 08, 2006 4:16 pm

Nice solid victory. 98 points in the last couple games aint too bad.
