Most likely, though missing a game or two now would be preferable to being forced to the sidelines with a worse injury.

Unfortunately he don't think like that. He wants people to remember him as the 'tough dude'

And kudos to him for being that competitive, but sometimes you can be your own worst enemy with that kind of mindset. Admirable, but risky.

Well, admirable to a point before it becomes annoying and stupid.

Absolutely. But for the most part it's a preferable mindset to someone like Eddy Curry (or Derrick Coleman, back in the day).

Yes, this is true. Lazy NBA players...

From an individual standpoint, he certainly bounced back against the Nuggets. The result obviously wasn't what the Lakers wanted though.

Billups and the Nuggets were on fire. Kudos to Denver, They are really really motivated to take care of the Lakers. I'm very impressed.

Jax has spoken bout resting Kobe... I hope he does that!

But Lakers can't win without Kobe

All the more reason to rest him while the season is far from being on the line, so he's in the lineup and healthy when it really matters.

George Karl just outcoached Phil Jackson in that game. It doesn't hurt having a leader like Billups on fire either.

I won't lie, personally speaking...if a guy like Carmelo was sitting on the bench laughing at me, I would've taken a swing at him. Props to Artest for walking away. Not to mention for not socking Graham after that foul which wasn't even close to trying for the ball. Especially given it's Artest.

Sasha stinks. He just stinks. He's horrible. He's been horrible and it doesn't look like he's going to get less horrible. He just flat out stinks.

Congrats to the Nuggets, they simply outplayed LA.

I reckon that. Lakers' teamwork is much more smoother without kobe. Take the LA vs BLAZERS game as an example.

Damn I'm really proud the way LA plays right now, a win over Portland and the Spurs without Kobe and Bynum. :applaud: :applaud: :applaud:

But is LA proud of you?

Just finished watching Lakers-Spurs. Pau proving how awesome he is. (Y) And Lakers played great without Kobe and Bynum. Fisher leading the team along with Pau. Lamar was playing aggressive!

Spurs don't seem the same as they used to be but the Lakers also played great team defense to shut them down in the last quarter!

Re: Lakers Thread

Pau is far more important to the Lakers than Kobe is.

Re: Lakers Thread

Thanks for stating the obvious. I don't think anyone but Kobe fans would dispute that.

Ofcourse the Spurs don't seem the same, they have six new players. Maybe that plays a part in them "not seeming the same"? Not to mention Jefferson bricking pretty much everything he threw up there.

Nice to see Odom kicking ass.

Re: Lakers Thread

Pity for the Spurs that Jefferson hasn't played how they would have envisioned for him to play. I ain't complaining though.

Speaking of bricks...nice to see Vujacic actually make a fucking shot.

Over the broadcast I heard Farmar's a free agent this summer though, they didn't pick up the option on him. I love Brown and all, but I see him more of a two guard opposed to running the team, so if Farmar walks I'll be real sad. :(

Also, Sasha must have been motivated to play against Manu. Loved his three at end of the first quarter. When he threw it up I was ready to yell out at him for missing a shot.

Jordan Farmar played a very good against the Spurs. He's just had a rough time trying to come back from injury so hopefully he can be a consistent threat from off the bench.

I don't think neither Brown or Farmar should replace Fisher's old legs anyways. Farmar's ok but I don't think he is or will become a quality starter material.

Re: Lakers Thread

In the triangle offense, he doesn't really need to be great.

He has to defend, hit the open shot and pass the ball in to the post. He's got speed and isn't undersized. That's good enough for me.

You don't want a "well known" guy replacing Fisher expecting to score every time down the court.

Re: Lakers Thread

Thu Feb 11, 2010 9:12 am

I guess so. I also thought LAL would sign him an extension since he would play for under 3 million dollar for another full season. More importantly, Fisher's legs are becoming a hole in the defense so Farmar I thought was worth the money. That is unless they're looking to upgrade on this position for the long term.
