You don't want them to grab the all-time record though?
Sat Dec 20, 2008 12:14 am
I don't want to say I do because I still believe it's an unreasonable goal. I don't think any team will beat it any time soon.

I guess I am undecided on whether I want them to beat 70-12.

Well, I admire your respect for history.

For me it's mostly the individual games that usually effect me, not exactly the total team record or history marks, but playing under their skill level is a pain to watch. We almost tied the game. Sigh.

right now i am only interested in seeing the Lakers beat the Celtics on Christmas......i dont want to see the Celtics beating the Rocket's well deserved 22 straight wins record

I wish I could see it in Oz... even if it was on tv, I'm working that day.

I hope it's an epic game and not a blowout. I still have nightmares from Game 6

2 game losing streak...
tough break...
I wonder what would've happened if Kobe's shot against miami went in or Sasha's 3 to put lakers up by 2 went in against the magic...

I sat through it right through to the end. The sad part was that it was over by half time lol

Kobe's shot against the Heat was a fine example of a cruel rim. Kobe's grin said it all, what else can you do when a shot misses like that?

totally agree, if the shot goes in half way and bounces out like that...thats fate, you cant stop that from happening, that shot was a good attempt, normally it would be in

Lakers' Farmar Has Torn Meniscus In Left KneeNot the best news for the Lakers on top of the two losses. I think 70 has fallen out of reach with 5 losses this early on but I get the feeling they'll still tear through the rest of the season in a dominant fashion and be the frontrunners to come out of the West, so Lakers fans can't be too disappointed with that.

What series of games at Florida for them.
Next up Grizz, MAYO VS. KOBE, GASOL VS. GASOL, Should be a good, am expecting a blowout and it seems LA fans claim if they dont win in double digits, there's just a problem on the team.

Jax called it first. A few weeks ago, he already said his team didn't have what it took to get to 70. I can't remember if he made any comment about the Celtics though.

He did, though I'm sure he also did it as a motivational tactic; perhaps not to ensure they could contend for the record as they obviously have their eyes set on a bigger prize but to get them playing at a level that wouldn't allow them to drop a couple of games back-to-back as they just did to the Heat and Magic. These things happen though, as I've said before if they start dropping games against possible Playoff opponents in the West then it's cause for concern. Defeating the Celtics on Christmas Day would certainly send the message that despite these losses here and there, they're perfectly capable of taking care of business against their fellow elite teams.

i really don't see how the lakers will beat the celtics on christmas day but I hope they do. The celtics need to have a bump in their way before cleveland gets to them.

It will be interesting to see what goes down in a few days. We will see how much daylight there is between the Celts and Lake Show thus far.

I hope it is shown here.

phew...close win over Memphis(unexpected)...and a win in New Orleans (damn..), hopefully they can carry the good plays and intensity from the game with the Hornets back to LA when they play the Celtics..

Anyone going to make any predicitons about the game?
I'm going with LA.

I picked the Celtics in the daily prediction thread but I'd hardly call it a lock.
