The refs were awful, for both sides. I guess they cancel each other

Kobe was amazing lastnight.....he's one tough mother fucker to perform like that with such an injury. Lakers better hope he can continue.

Yeah, even if Kobe was a sobbing bitch in the summer, two things will always hold true about Kobe:
1. The cat
CAN ball.
2. He never lets up. (Even in the lean years, lottery was not an option)
3. Good enough, is never good enough. (That is why my 2 item list has 3 items.)

Man, cant wait for Bynum to return to the squad. Only a matter of time but it seems like he has been out forever. He could just do cleanup and average 14&12 from here on out. Team should be set from top to bottom come playoff time though I'm a bit concerned about Derek Fisher whose J isnt falling and for some reason thinks hes a dribble penatrator as of late. Only thing that provides are embarassing misses and easy blocked shots. At the same time Farmar has been balling his brains out though its highly unlikely hell get a start as his offensive contributions are much more usefull off the bench. Ah well, hope fully we can finish off Miami handily tonight as we have a tough one against Portland tomorrow. Hope Fish brings his J...

Well, maybe next season Fisher would have to slowly bow out for the younger Farmar. At any rate, there are days that I think to myself that maybe LA can still void and erase Radmanovic's salary off the payroll, so they can add another ball handler and resign turiaf without breaking the bank.

Ok we lost to Portland but I'm not overly disheartened as all good things do come to an end and losing brings people back to earth. We need to put in a much better defensive effort on a nightly basis as we put up the points but didnt make the stops we needed to down the stretch.
Kinda sucks not being in first place and would like for us to rebound quickly.

all this bynum talk... i dont even think we necessarily NEED him to win the finals...
pau gasol is a solid defender, even tho hes somewhat soft
wen bynum does come back, we cant expect too much from him cuz he porbably wont be 100% and he hasnt played for what 2 months?

I'm actually more intrigued right now where Ariza will be placed in this new system, as he is a good ball thief and one of the better transition scorers. when Bynum and Ariza do come back, they will definitely help out on D. I think Bynum will still be a solid back up guy for Gasol, and the consistency he showed early in the season might be the key to a solid run. All in all, Bynum will be hard pressed to work his ass off, simply because it is his contract year next year. He better bring it if he wants to see max $$$.
Has anyone notice though that Coby Karl is the Human Victory Cigar for this year's Lakers? Funny that Phil Jackson always have to have a guy like that on his team. A little while back it was Mark Madsen, and on his birthday they let Madsen hoist all the 3pt he could take.

haha i never knew that bout madsen... maybe he finally made on haha
coby karl can be pretty good... but not trustworthy in playoffs
id say ariza will be shaky cuz he is coming off injury so i dont think his D or transition game will be as good... hope it is tho
anyway YeA win by 38 last night!!! gainst clippers yeaaa wer soo gooodd this yearr !!
anyone think Jordan Farmar got a chance for 6th man?
Sun Mar 09, 2008 12:29 pm
I don't think that was a birthday present, it was the last game of the season for the Timberwolves if i remember properly and it was one of the most obvious displays of tanking I've seen.
Edit: Yeah it was against Memphis in 06. The Wolves finished one game below the Rockets and Warriors. He only took 3 threes in 3 seasons for the Lakers and they were in different seasons so it wasn't Phil giving him a b'day present.

predictions on what kobe will score?
i dont think itll be too much since were gunna blow them away early n let coby karl take care of em
i dont even think kobe needsa really play all the rest of the games... get him some rest before playoffs... we got the easiest schedule i think
Mon Mar 10, 2008 8:17 pm
Haha, so the Lakers lost by 1pt today. Udrih is really making it in Sactown. And so the seesaw battle for the number 1 spot in the west rages on.
If the Lakers want the top spot in the west, I don't think they can sit Kobe down too much. With the arrival of offensive help, Kobe has been doing better in the steals and assist department.

Problem though is there isn't anyone in the active roster right now that can gap the gapping hole on perimeter D.
Mon Mar 10, 2008 10:27 pm
dude, freaking Spencer Hawes dominated in clutch time. he had two huge dunks and then he swatted Pau(?) and then managed to save it to a teammate. I was shocked the Kings won without KMart scoring much in the 4th.
Tue Mar 11, 2008 12:41 am
2 guys on the front court that are synonymous with soft, what do you expect? haha. That is why Bynum and Ariza are still important parts of the team. Bynum gives them some toughness in the front court and Ariza is a nice piece to have in transition. I'm sure every Laker fan is aching to see what the Lakers can do with the full complement of a complete lineup.
Thu Mar 13, 2008 10:20 am
yay bynum can run on a "treadmill" a really expensive one
but at least he is improving
hopefully we get him back in 2 weeks =)
but i dont think he will need too much time to gel with other players because his style of game is just rebounding, defense, and dunking when hes open basically

Hmm, i wouldn't worry too much about that... Will simply keel over soon. Nobody pays too much attention to the Suns these days. haha
Anyway, the game on sunday is a game to truly watch out for. If the Bobcats can't do it, then it's the Lakers job to stop the Rockets. Haha

STEVE NASH needs To DIE
hmm i should change it... i did this like 2 years ago wen lakers lost to suns in playoffs... i was a lil mad haha
but i really hope we get this win tonite gainst hornets...
Sat Mar 15, 2008 6:25 am
I am with you bro..!!!
Sat Mar 15, 2008 1:04 pm
Damn, lost to the hornets while Gasol tweaked his ankle in today's game. Next up, the Lakers are playing the Rockets. If Gasol can't return by then, Bynum won't probably either. The Rockets will have an excellent chance of extending their win streak. "Em Rockets are working with some pretty strong juju.
Sat Mar 15, 2008 1:13 pm
The Lakers lost, Gasol is injured, San Antonio lost again.
Well, now we have a chance to finish in first place.
And I think its hornets' job to stop rockets
Sat Mar 15, 2008 7:51 pm
I think the Celtics gets first dibs at stopping the Rockets. Haha. The recent surge of blockbuster trades has really shaken up the league. I haven't been this excited to watch the NBA playoffs since the Lakers closed out the Blazers in 7 games. And went on to win their first of 3 championships.
Sun Mar 16, 2008 6:46 am
No No No.. We lost Gasol for all the trip.. That bad.. But there is some advantage.. Now the lakers will play small ball... With very short lineup.. But there will be more speed in the squad.. So don't think that we have no chances cuz we are still the best team in the West

Lakers will put all power and will, in that road trip.. And i am sure that the results will be good
Wed Mar 19, 2008 1:14 pm
So the Lakers won today, bad though that they were up by 20 at the half, and almost lost it, until regaining control in the dying minutes to win by a dismal margin of 2 pts. Lucky for the Lakers that the Mavs have been spiraling out of control since the Kidd trade.
Up next is the Jazz, which should prove a major challenge for the shorthanded Lakers. But after that, the following games should be easier, up until the Lakers get Bynum and Ariza back. The last 3 games of the season should provide a good preview of what the Lakers can accomplish this season.
Fri Mar 21, 2008 8:29 pm
Wow, I honestly thought the Lakers would not make it past the Jazz. It wouldn't hurt either that Gasol and Bynum could be back soon.
