no ones interested in hinrich imo unless the bulls are interested in taking a bad contract back/ include their 1st round pick and/or tyrus thomas

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jan 07, 2010 11:13 am

In other words, Hinrich will be a Bull at the end of the 2009/2010 season barring some outstanding games to raise his trade value and a sucker for a GM. Of course, there's still that issue of no one trusting Forman's word that Adrian Wojnarowski mentioned last week.

Nice 2 games by the bulls.
I was happy to see that everything went in yesterday and especially happy to see Salmons scoring again
And a win by great margin over detroit

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

The Pistons are woeful at the moment so it's no great achievement but still, they took care of business at home against a team that's playing poorly when it wasn't completely inconceivable that they'd give Detroit an opportunity to end their losing streak in an embarrassing fashion. Nice to see, any good news is welcome this year.

Meanwhile, Vinny Del Negro remains in limbo. One wonders how the Bulls will sell a top tier free agent on coming to play for them when the Bulls management is so openly untrustworthy and incompetent. It can't reflect well on the franchise.

It's not hard to beat a WNBA team.

Good win over the Celtics, they almost let the lead slip more than a couple of times but ultimately prevailed. The Celtics were shorthanded but still very much capable of winning the game, so good effort. Surprised to look at the boxscores and see that they only had ten blocks, felt like they sent back a lot more than that. Best Bulls games that's been shown here since last year's Playoffs.

I was surprised to see that the Bulls won over such a good team in away.
And Deng seems to play really well these last games

Watched the game on One HD. If Tyrus Thomas could make a layup then he'd be effective. He makes great hustle plays then blows easy layups. The story of Tyrus I guess. Good win for Bulls. They played fairly well against a tired (5th game in 7 nights) Celtics team.

Tyrus is a really intelligent, smart and overall a good person off the court, but on the court, the dude has literally no IQ what so ever. He takes crazy jumpshots that are out of his range, pulls up for them so so so much and looks like a deer in the headlights all the time. You've got to love his athletic ability though. If he could make the midrange jumper he loves so much (long way to go), he'd be freaking amazing, I believe. Lots of other stuff though, such as decision making and stuff that take from him.

Agreed, there was one particularly ugly sequence where he and James Johnson combined to miss about four or five layups point blank. On the bright side, Thomas and Gibson both had some nice follow-up dunks, taking advantage of being left alone to crash the boards.

Surprisingly on those 4-5 missed layups, Ty Thomas had about 2 good opportunities to dunk it, especially given his outstanding athleticism.

I was thinking that too. I'm all for a developed and diverse offensive repertoire but when the opportunity for the highest percentage shot in the game is there, why not take it? Nothing fancy, just put it down.

Probably not, I'm still holding out hope that the Bulls have something up their sleeve for the offseason and Murphy's contract runs through 2011.

Tough win for the Bulls yesterday over washington.I believed it would be far easier than this but Wizards were a tough nut to crack.
Rose's career-high 37 pts were the thing that helped Bulls the most and that floater at 5 secs at 2OT was the game winner by Rose.
And now Bulls are in the 8th seed 0.5 games behind Charlotte and 1 game behind Toronto

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

They dodged a bullet at the end when Foye blew that jumper and time ran out on Haywood after he got the offensive rebound. That easily could've turned into a third overtime and who knows what would've happened from there, but the ball bounced their way. Good to see them come away with the win and Rose take control like that.

Of course as they start to find their feet, it makes the situation with Del Negro all the more awkward. I guess they're going to ride out the season with him, but then were those just rumours about his impending dismissal and if so, why didn't they extend him the courtesy of standing behind him? In terms of attracting a quality free agent, I think the fact they have some talent already and that they're winning and could make the Playoffs bodes well for them; it suggests that if Noteworthy Free Agent X comes to town, they could go to the next level. However, I can see that player being turned off the idea by the way management carries themselves and deal with their personnel.

i'm not sure. Thomas doesn't explode to the rim when he's that close and he's in traffic. he's a bit awkward when he's trying to finish around the rim with no running start

if (and when) the bulls can't trade hinrich for expiring contracts, murphy like deals start to make sense

Nice win over the Suns, another 30+ point game from Rose on an impressive 15/21 from the field. Sadly ESPN Australia didn't show the entire doubleheader so I didn't get to see it.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

nice win over the Suns.
And 50,6% FGs!
That's a good percentage from the Bulls ,and it seems that Rose has found a nice Tempo the last month.
Also Deng seems to be better than 2009 he's taken some shots and a big 3 at the tie.
Rose's dunk over Dragic was sick!

Rose absolutely destroyed Dragic with that dunk. Can't remember the last time I've seen a PG go in for a two handed tomahawk dunk with such authority. His head hit the backboard too it seems.

Think there are any chances of seeing Derrick Rose in the contest any time? That was nasty.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Sun Jan 24, 2010 7:54 am

i think he's more a "in game" dunker then a showman type.

only the bulls...

they crap in their pants and lose easily to GSW. i think they shot 36% against Ellis and a bunch of nbdl players!! ok sorry- ellis and maggette good... on offense. and did the thought of double teaming/trapping Ellis ever cross VDN's mind????

and then they come back and beat the Suns on the road. only the bulls

I agree with AG, much as I like that dunk it would look somewhat mundane in a contest where there is no defense and so many more creative things have been done and are expected.

It was going to take a record setting run to do it, but with the Lakers' loss the mark of 72-10 is safe for another season. It's certainly against the norm not to have a team in any position to challenge the mark this early in the season though; usually there's a team with only 4 or 5 losses through January that looks like they could at least hit 70.

Meanwhile, I've picked the Spurs tomorrow which should mean a Bulls victory, or at the very least a respectable effort on the road.

Have you also made a prediction that Amare ISN'T going to be traded to Chicago?

Cos that would be handy, too.

I did express my doubts in that thread...so yeah, let's see what happens.
