January's schedule is easy as ****.
http://www.nba.com/lakers/schedule/
18 game win streak anyone?
Mon Dec 31, 2007 4:44 am
Huh??
@ New Orleans
vs Phoenix
vs Denver
@ San Antonio
@ Dallas
@ Detroit
Not to mention today's game against Boston. Do you really think they will beat all of those teams?
Look at the Lakers schedule starting Jan 31st @ Detroit. 9 game road trip in 14 days. I have a feeling they'll only be about 5 games over .500 come all-star break - which isn't bad, but come on. 18 game win streak???

Gotta love the short shorts the Lakers are wearing against the Celtics, tonight. Classic.

And they switch out of them after half time. Shows their mental weakness.

NBA.com wrote: NEW YORK, Jan. 1, 2008 – Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom has been suspended one game without pay and assessed a Flagrant Foul, Penalty Two for flagrantly fouling Ray Allen of the Boston Celtics by throwing himself into Allen and knocking him to the floor, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President Basketball Operations.
The incident occurred with 2:56 remaining in the fourth period of the Lakers 110- 91 loss to the Celtics at Staples Center on Dec. 30. Odom will serve his suspension on Jan. 4 when the Lakers host the Philadelphia 76ers.
Damn, so he got suspended... At least Lakers aren't that bad so that they would lose to Sixers without Lamar...

Nooooooooooo! Lamaaaaaaaaaar! We neeeeeeed youuuuuu!
I like them more wearing short shorts than those long, baggy shorts. Seriously.
Thu Jan 03, 2008 1:54 am
Yeah, I don't like baggy too, but short is too short. Those shorts which were worn in the 90's, during the domination by the Bulls, were the best.
Thu Jan 03, 2008 11:44 am
Oh, the 80s and 90s were different length-wise? Oh, yeah, right. I just remembered the Magic Johnson pic and the Michael Jordan one.
Mon Jan 07, 2008 3:23 pm
Nice win over Pacers, yay .
Thu Jan 10, 2008 11:27 am
Ain't this just lovely? The fakers getting their groove on early on an otherwise OK team. Shooting 100% on the first 8 shots. And going 9/10 on the first 10 is (I think) a good sign.
Thu Jan 10, 2008 12:55 pm
4th quarter and its 90-72 over the Hornets. Gotta say I love how we have been playing this season and I have high expectations for this lot. Call me crazy...
Only 4 total turnovers at this point and Bynum is a rebound shy of his double double.

This is just great, the fakers won back-to-back games, while defeating the hornets who has beaten them in the last 3 games they have met. And sitting at a game berth of just 1. The fakers could possibly go far. All the way? I wouldn't bet on it.

.
It would be fun though to watch a celtics-lakers finals showdown. The fakers are 1 shy of matching the celtics' championships. And Phil Jackson is now neck-to-neck with Auerbach with the most number of championships as coach.

only faker here is you.
Nice win anyways, yay.

No Bynum for 8 weeks due to a sprained knee. I hope the lakers enjoyed that winning streak while it lasted. Lets hope that odom or maybe even the other center who doesn't matter...steps their game up.

How come every Lakers thread get so much hate? Why go to this thread if you hate the Lakers?

Radman and Mihm are also still out. That leaves the Lakers with a very thin front court. I'm thinking they might even need to pick-up a scrub of a big man on a ten day contract or the Lakers. But still they would have to play small ball. I just hope though that Bynum does not flake out when he returns from injury like Odom did after his shoulder injury.
Interestingly though, the Lakers are currently no. 1 in the Power Rankings.

I was referring to the guy who calls them fakers, and the guy who says Kobe sucks, I mean, this is totally unnecessary. Anyway not too much hate I realized, my bad

Never thought I would see LA in the top spot this season. Wow.

jesus christ kobe i'm a big fan of yours but seriously fuck off. just because bynum is out doesn't mean you have to jack up 32+ shots by the end of the third quarter, making less than half of it. trust your fucking teammates for once.

Tue Jan 15, 2008 4:45 pm

Haha, I'm a fan of the Lakers, and I also like calling them fakers, flakers etc...

, because I hate that Odom with all his talents, can't step up. And I hate mitch kupchak for giving the MLE to scrubs like walton and george. And for giving up caron butler for brown. If I were Phil Jackson, I would carry a big newspaper roll and swat kwame brown in the head for every missed rebound, free throw and open layups.
Anyway, Surprise Surprise... The Lakers are sitting now on top of the west as the team with the best record in the west.
Tue Jan 15, 2008 6:37 pm
So, the question now is how many games can they win in the first round before being eliminated?
