Cole Aldrich please.

I'm sure John will be thrilled to be nicknamed after an awful white rapper.

close game last nite. up until late in the 4th qtr did the game get away from the Kings last nite. encouraging to see Evans & Thompson put up good games in a tough loss. 4 losses in row but the Twolves are up next at home on SAturday

as far as that other team- it's great that they were embarrassed on national tv. i heard the announcers were ripping on the team, something the bulls tv team will never do. maybe fans will stop going to the games and hit Reinsdorf where it really hurts

Perhaps they're holding out on firing Del Negro so they can give him the Scott Skiles treatment. Merry Christmas, Vinny...Merry Christmas Bulls fans at large.

the bulls need a coach like Skiles right now

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

For sure, he'd be a step up from Del Negro to say the very least. Considering how quickly coaches get dumped when things go bad, it's puzzling how he retains the confidence of the front office.

Probably because the front office is even less competent.

True, but as the head coach he remains a convenient scapegoat, one I would've expected them to make use of.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

He'll probably be gone in less than 2 weeks. The stories, rumours, reports, whatever are already circulating. Only a matter of time.

They should get Lawrence Frank so they can overachieve and be a seventh seed for the next decade!

What about Byron Scott? He's great at coaching point guards (Kidd, CP3). Rose would shine under Scott's coaching :)

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

I wouldn't mind that, nor would I mind Lawrence Frank or Avery Johnson if there's mutual interest. I'd take their experience and past success over Vinny Del Negro any day.

what difference will it make if VDN gets fired?

the Kings owned the Wolves last nite. i think Evans goes for 40 if the game doesn't get out of hand.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Mon Dec 14, 2009 8:59 am

In the short term, very little; I'm not suggesting it would turn things around this year and as I said before, it's not all his fault as it's not like he has a stellar roster to work with. Still, if blowing everything up is in the cards then I think Del Negro needs to go too, as I don't think he's the right choice moving forward.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Mon Dec 14, 2009 9:56 am

i think they should fire him, regardless of 'blowing up everything is in the cards' or not. was there any question that he was part of their future... even when he was hired?

who the fuck hires a guy with no college/nba coaching experience? Reinsdorf does because he's still paying off Skiles contract

anywho- he should be fired because the team sucks. we were told he was hired because he interviewed well and is good at player development. well guess wut- the franchise's best talent since Jordan is crapping in his pants this year... and it took 20 games for VDN to figure out that the high pick n roll with Rose was not working

fire the guy, let Bernie run the team, then hire another Del Negro in the offseaon

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Mon Dec 14, 2009 10:39 am

Sounds good to me...though wouldn't they be better off pursuing someone like a Byron Scott, Lawrence Frank or Avery Johnson in the offseason?

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Mon Dec 14, 2009 10:49 pm

Scott is the best solution in my opinion if signed now.
He showed he can do good job as in NOLA and i believe hornets shouldn't fire him

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Mon Dec 14, 2009 11:42 pm

I don't think we could expect any miracles from Scott, he'd still have the same roster at his disposal that Del Negro currently does, barring some unexpectedly shrewd trade(s). More likely Bickerstaff would take over for the remainder of the season and bringing in someone new would hopefully be part of the offseason improvements next year.

lol sorry did i say Del Negro again. can you honestly trust Paxson/Reinsdorf to hire the right guy? when does Skiles contract come off the books haha

in the postgame of the last few blowouts, some players were talking about 'not giving enough effort, 'not playing hard 48mins'. it's time to get rid of VDN if the players are quitting on him/phasing him out. just by firing VDN could light a spark under the players arses. there won't be miracles as andrew says but there shouldn't be anymore 30 point blowouts either

who do you want the bulls to hire, Andrew?

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Tue Dec 15, 2009 11:10 am

At this point I'd probably go for Byron Scott first, Avery Johnson second and Lawrence Frank third, mutual interest pending of course. I think Scott and Johnson would both be able to bring the toughness required, I'm not completely sure about Johnson's ability to develop a team like the Bulls though as he pretty much had a ready-made squad in Dallas.

Side note: Just blew up the Bulls in my NBA Live 10 Dynasty, as they're about as fun to play with as they are to watch right now. I managed to get rid of everyone except Rose, Noah, Hunter and Gibson. Rose and Noah I wanted to keep, Hunter I've kept on the IR but may still deal and Gibson I just couldn't get rid of, not even for a scrub and cap room. I ultimately just cut him.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Dec 17, 2009 8:24 am

whoever can put Rose in the best situation to succeed/develop... push him to be more aggressive/assertive... i'm all for. i have no idea if that's Johnson or Scott. i'm not familiar with their coaching styles at all. i just know of their reputations as being hardasses (which i like haha)

andrew- So who else is on your dynasty bulls roster then?

the only thing that disappointed me about the lakers game last nite was Luol Deng hitting the 3 at the end of the game. I had a $50 parlay on the Cavs -7 (who covered) and the lakers -10. i thought they had it in the bag up by 12 with the game about to end. then that bastard hit the 3 right before the clock ran out. unfriggin believeable

I gave up on it as it was going to be too unrealistic and unenjoyable in its own right, but with some wheeling and dealing I'd managed to put together a starting five of Joakim Noah, Elton Brand, Trevor Ariza, Jason Richardson and Derrick Rose along with a bench that included Shane Battier, Troy Murphy, Eddie House, Jason Thompson and Tyreke Evans. I also signed Darius Miles and Steve Francis, purely for flavour. But yeah, a bit too stacked and too unrealistic for my liking, so I'm starting over.

Hands off

haha easy there. he's yours. i'm more concerned about the financial side. the chances of the Bulls spending $$ on/hiring a real nba choice are much better when they no longer owe Skiles $$

glad there's another Skiles fan tho

i'd wait at least until the trading deadline passes before i start a Bulls dynasty, Andrew. if possible wait until July ;)
