Ah well. Just a preseason game. Hopefully Rad can keep this shooting for the regular season.

It's just a preseason game. The Lakers have changed their offence a little bit and Kobe has a different role now. Still a long road ahead though. Eagerly waiting for the next game. :D

How pathetic has the Laker circus gotten? They went from being the most envied team in the league to the laughing stock.

For now atleast. Bryant needs to go, until he's gone, the new era won't begin.

It's odd to be honest, a handful of people had said that LA with Bryant as the superstar would just be what they are right now, mediocre. Bryant as main guy in LA was equivelant to McGrady as main guy in Orlando. Then we had Kobe fanboys screaming that it wasn't the McGrady situation at all, that it was indeed a Michael Jordan situation given LA got Lamar Odom, Scottie Pippen part deux.

Yeah, it really worked out like they envisioned it. Pathetic.

The direction the Lakers have gone, they should trade him to the Mavericks for Harris/Howard/Diop/future 1st round picks/cash. Then trade Odom to the Suns for Marion(1 yr/18 mil).

PG: Harris
SG: Crittenton
SF: Howard
PF: Marion
C: Bynum

Then after the season, you got 27 million freed cap space from expiring K's from Marion and Kwame.

Yeah, I don't see the Mavs trading two starters who are great players, and one of their best reserves, along with numerous first round picks just for Kobe.

Especially since they would have to include pretty much everyone on the team that isn't Dampier, Dirk, Terry, and Stackhouse.

I dunno if denver would consider it but somehow, someway, i hope Kobe gets shipped to Denver for Melo.

As for the bulls, no Deng, no deal. hopefully that's what the Lakers FO are saying right now to the bulls.

I don't know why Laker fans want to trade Kobe. 48 of the last 50 championship teams have included a HOF. Trade Kobe, you won't get one in return, with the incompetent management we have. The Lakers become a hellhole for years and decades to come, waiting for another great draftpick to fall into their laps.

If I had to trade Kobe, the only player I'd trade him for is Duncan or KG. That won't happen, so don't trade Kobe.

Some more news
http://www.complex.com/CELEBRITIES/Web- ... nas/Page-3

C: So you mentioned that you’d opt out after this season what cities would be your top choices to play in?
Gilbert Arenas: L.A., San Antonio, Dallas, Houston

C: Could you’d play with Kobe?
Gilbert Arenas: Yeah. Cause mentally I’m strong enough to play with him. I don’t think everybody’s ready for his mental challenge.

C: So you don’t think he’s a cancer?
Gilbert Arenas: You see with Kobe I don’t pay attention; I already know his game because he’s a mental person. So I can deal with that because I know, I’m a mental person too. So I know if he says, “Gil lets work out for 3 hours,” I know the only thing he’s trying to do is, go 3 hours so I can quit. He’s not there to make me look better or make me better. He’s there to put me to quits so I know, it’s up to me to last 3 hours.

That could happen, if Lakers trade Odom for Marion(1 yr/20 mil), then gain 31 million amount of capspace from expiring K's from Marion, Kwame, and Sasha. They have 17 million to work with and can sign both JO and Arenas.

Imagine

PG Arenas
SG Crittenton
SF Kobe
PF JO
C Bynum

Or am I just dreaming?

Gilbert would never come to LA... I'm waiting for him to prove me wrong. But I'm fairly convinced that he is opting out of his contract just to sign an even bigger deal. It's all a business after all.

You think 17 million would get you JO and Arenas??!!!!  That's about what it would cost to sign Gilbert OR JO not both.

Plus JO will never walk from the Pacers, we simply wouldn't let it happen. He'll be extended if the season plays out the way it seems like its going to or traded if everything falls apart.

Arenas might come for less because his endorsements would double playing in a big city like LA. JO on the other hand is displeased playing in Indy and may come for about 10 million. We will also have the MLE and the BIA to work with.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Gilbert's endorsments are as high as they get. You don't get bigger endorsments because you play in a big city. Look at Peyton Manning.

Also I don't know where you get that JO is displeased playing in Indy. JO loves it here, and has said over and over again that he wants to stay, despite reporters trying to twist his words. JO even went to managment this offseason and said "Please don't trade me, I still really want to make it work here."

If trade happens before the start of the season is going to be with the Bulls. It seems that they have all the piece to work out a deal with the lakers.

No, it will be Dallas if it happens. Cuban is the only guy gutsy enough to pull off a huge trade like that halfway through the pre-season. No way Kobe goes to Chicago unless the Bulls are willing to give up Deng and Gordon, and Pax has refused that offer a million times already.

The NFL is so popular, a team in South Africa could be marketable. Look at Brett Farve. How big is Green Bay? Yet they draw huge numbers and Farve is far more marketable then Eli Manning.

But then look at baseball. Do you think Jeter would be as marketable if he was in Tampa Bay?

Favre being far more marketable then Eli shows the fact that its the player, not the city, that makes one marketable.

Sure, if the Rays were title contenders year in and year out with Jeter as an MVP candidate.

Look at Ken Griffey Junior, he was the most marketable player in the league for awhile. Even though Seattle is not a small city he was still far more popular then anyone in LA, New York or Chicago.

My main point is that Gilbert is really the most marketable player in the NBA right now along with LeBron James. Those guys play in Cleveland and DC, not much more really needs to be said.

Whoa easy there. Gilbert isn't more marketable then Kobe, Wade or Duncan.

Just imagine if Lebron was in New York or Chicago. He'd be on a Jordan level in terms of icon status.

Then again Gilbert, Kobe, Wade, and Duncan combined aren't more marketable than Yao.

Yao is only marketable because of the asian fan boys.

I guess KG will be the perfect example. If he has another kg type season in Boston, we can compare how marketable he is compared to how he was in Minnesota.
