i don't understand. i thought that's what san antonio was doing.... where are you getting your information?

Many people around the world consider Kobe the best player in the league right now.
come on now magius, this is completly wrong, i think you and me can agree that the "building" phase is completed in san antonio

yeah, if by "right now" you mean "not winning."

LeBron, Garnett.

That's just going overboard, even for a laker fan.
I would put Kobe as one of the most athletic guys in history, but skill wise? What exactly does he do that's so amazing? Pinpoint cross court passes? Nope. Post moves? Nope. Rebounding? Ok for a guard, nothing of note. His best attribute is shooting, and he's a career 45% shooter.
Larry Bird was a career 49.6% shooter. Bird was a better midrange shooter, a better 3 point shooter, a better rebounder (10 rpg), a better passer, had more steals, had more blocks, and was more clutch...all with much less athleticism.
Kobe is definitely a great player, but he's a cut below the legends like Bird and Jordan. I won't comment on guys i've never seen play like Oscar Robertson but i'm sure old timers would tell you.

1. of the highest quality, unmatched excellence, skill or competence
That's why I believe he is a top 5 most skilled player in the history of the game.
