I agree Kobe went overboard. But I would not trade the best player in the league, i'd try to build around him first.

dont you get it?

the lakers have tried building around him. did not work.
its either the lakers get a bonafide superstar or he demands a trade to chicago.

yes, its no secret in all laker boards that kobe wants to be traded to the bulls. i hope he considers portland though.

I read some guy has video of Kobe going nuts on Kupchak because Kupchak doesn't want to move LO and Bynum, he's either going on the radio to talk about it soon or has just been on.

Apparently Kobe said "get ready to get your Bulls jersey" during the tirade.

I don't know about other Bulls fans but I don't want him here. As long as we only give up one of the Luol/Ben combo I would do it, but I don't see the Lakers management being happy with just one of them if they can't accept getting a tru superstar in return in Jermaine O'Neal.

I don't know if anyone posted about the video, but I didn't see it on here.

EDIT: The majority of Laker fans think they're getting Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, #9 and a filler... No way in hell Pax gives that up, ever.

I miss days of the Lakers dominating.

I hate the Spurs, don't get me wrong, but the Lakers were so much more fun to hate. Now it's a waste of my time and effort to hate them.

The LAL roster management around Kobe is so pathetic that I can't hate Kobe anymore.

No way. Kobe can do a lot of things lebron and garnett can't do. They dont have much over Kobe. If anything, Kobe is top 5 most skilled player in NBA history.

On topic, many people that think Mitch is the problem in the FO is wrong. Mitch is really Jim Buss's puppet, so JB is the one that makes the decision. Mitch does whatever JB tells him to do.

Shooting:
Kobe > LeBron and Garnett, definitely

Defense:
Kobe > LeBron, absolutely, but Kobe > Garnett, I don't think so.

Killer Instinct (clutch)
Kobe > LeBron and Garnett, surely

Other than shooting and clutch, Kobe isn't over much LeBron and Garnett in terms of other skills (passing, rebounding, etc.).

That's just going overboard, even for a laker fan.

I would put Kobe as one of the most athletic guys in history, but skill wise? What exactly does he do that's so amazing? Pinpoint cross court passes? Nope. Post moves? Nope. Rebounding? Ok for a guard, nothing of note. His best attribute is shooting, and he's a career 45% shooter.

Larry Bird was a career 49.6% shooter. Bird was a better midrange shooter, a better 3 point shooter, a better rebounder (10 rpg), a better passer, had more steals, had more blocks, and was more clutch...all with much less athleticism.

Kobe is definitely a great player, but he's a cut below the legends like Bird and Jordan. I won't comment on guys i've never seen play like Oscar Robertson but i'm sure old timers would tell you.

gotta agree, saying kobe is top 5 ever when he has yet to carry a team, instead of being a 2 man. i honestly dont even think i would rate kobe top 10

I'm talking about skill. Forget stats, accolades, and all that stuff. Compare their skill level. This is my definition of skill.
1. of the highest quality, unmatched excellence, skill or competence

Kobe possesses some of the skills not even MJ ever had. That's why I believe he is a top 5 most skilled player in the history of the game.

Kobe is a better lockdown defender than KG.

KG is overrated as a defender. He's a good weakside shotblocker, but at the same time he gets murdered by guys like Elton Brand.

"Unmatched excellence, skill, or competence"? lol
Who do you think is the better passer, LeBron or Kobe.
Better rebounder, LeBron or Kobe?
If Kobe is of "umatched excellence, skill, or competence" then he should be better than LeBron or anyone for that matter in terms of everything.
lakerskobe247 wrote:Kobe possesses some of the skills not even MJ ever had.

Like what exactly?
The only thing I could think of is shooting but even Jordan overcame that defiency and had better shooting percentages than Kobe.

There are also skills Jordan possess that Kobe doesn't have.
A good example of MJ's game pre-championship days would be Dwyane Wade, if Wade was on steroids. NBA legends describe him as "virtually unstoppable" (and that's coming from Joe Dumars) during MJ's youth, before the NBA had ticky-tack fouls.

Of course Kobe is a better shooter (81 pts. baby!) but see previous argument above.

Talk about your "umatched excellence, skill, or competence".

Wade? c'mon now. Young MJ didnt rely on the refs.

Young MJ is more similar to current Kobe.

Young MJ didn't have range in his shot. He didn't even have a 3-pointer.
