Dwight for Love!
Jk.

It takes a real retard on the Wolves' side to aim for that trade.

Would future picks be enough? I'd take it.

Fuck you and keep Westbrook where he is now! I hated that prediction ever since Bill Simmons brought it up last summer...

Gift of Love

The end is nigh. Or so it seems. Reports about Kevin Love’s uncertain future with the Minnesota Timberwolves are coming out left and right. Every team in the league is positioning itself to capture the star power on the market right now.

Not surprising. Even with the chance that he'll walk at the end of the year, it seems he's open to most any situation other than the one he finds himself in in Minnesota, so I imagine pretty much everyone is willing to make their pitch to the Timberwolves and see if it's an affordable risk.

When I got to the Brooklyn potential trade, I realised that both the article and the reporter are a joke.

Seems to me as if you missed important parts of that article. Love is a player many teams are supposed to bid for. Some team's chances are better, some others are not. But the point is, that Minnesota will have a lot of offers to consider. And they should not gamble too much or they'll end up like the Magic or Lakers during the Dwightmare.

Out of all scenarios, the Rockets and the Bulls one sound really really cool. The Clippers one doesn't sound too bad either.

Love / Rose / Noah
Love / Harden / Dwight
Love / CP3 / DeAndre

These trio combinations all look lethal, should be able to contend at the highest level instantly. (I like the sound of pairing him up with great defensive anchor big so Love can play to his strength more.)

Not sure why anybody would trust Rose's knees and join the Bulls.

Re: Love not interested in staying longer in Minnesota

It's a big question mark, no doubt, but the upside is that he wasn't showing any ill-effects from the first injury, while the injury he suffered a few months ago wasn't as severe and one that players have recovered well from (Russell Westbrook being a recent example).

There's also the fact that the Bulls have done admirably well without Rose the past couple of years, even after trading away Deng. Their biggest weakness - scoring - is something that the addition of a player like Kevin Love can address. Add Love to the roster that the Bulls had for most of last season, and they're a pretty good team in a pretty good situation. If Rose is healthy, and more importantly can stay healthy, then even better.

It's probably a long shot for him to become the same player that he once was in his MVP season but I want to believe so, I think most of us want to believe so. He was that special. And he's still young so...

Yeah but it's definitely a concern for big name free agents that are considering the Bulls. Melo, and Love undoubtedly would have considered the Bulls more seriously if Rose's knees have held up this season.

His surgically repaired knee from the previous season did hold up. He suffered a freak injury to his other knee, an injury that isn't as severe as the ACL tear and one that players have a decent track record of coming back from (again, Westbrook is a recent example). He had good form in the preseason, so it's not as though his skills have disappeared, either. He was off to a very sluggish start once the season began, but that was his timing and jumpshot, rather than his health, as he still looked pretty explosive.

But like I said, the Bulls did pretty well without him, and even without Deng. Their main weakness is something that players like Melo and Love provide: scoring. I imagine that they're still an interesting situation for players like Melo and Love to consider, with the added bonus that Rose is on the mend and if he stays healthy, should at least be able to be a productive player once he gets his form back.

I'm hoping for him to come back to his old form but it is hard to not doubt it. He is a better, more fluid version of Westbrook plus he comes without the attitude problems. The NBA needs Rose.

Absolutely, it's a huge concern. I'm going to wait and see how he does next season before declaring that one way or another, though. We've seen other players be written off by pretty much everyone, only to come back and be productive (Grant Hill, Amar'e Stoudemire after that first surgery in Phoenix...hey, even Michael Jordan broke his foot and missed 64 games in his second season), so we'll see.

First it was LeBron James coming to Miami now it's Kevin Love possibly going to Boston, proof that MVP-calibre talent wants to play together with Joel Anthony.

Saw this in the local media.

Love’s sighting in Boston over the weekend has undoubtedly spawned a lot of intrigue among hoops denizens. One source, for example, has said that the Boston deal is “pretty much done,” and that the Celtics really intend to pair off Love and Celtics captain Rajon Rondo with New York’s Carmelo Anthony, an impending free agent himself, to form a lethal triumvirate that would rival the Heat’s own Big Three.

The source, an insider at RealGM.com, said, “The Love deal is pretty much done. I think the fact that Kevin Love is so out and about in Boston is something that Danny wants out there so he can show someone like Melo that he means business. The Melo thing is the one that is on the hush. Melo is the primary target. They need a scorer from the wing position. Cs need to get Love first in order to work one (with) Melo. That’s why Kevin Love is in town, he knows he is headed to Boston. Love is a done deal, the focus now is Melo. He was the primary target. Love opting in on his final year allows the Cs to sign Melo to a long-term deal first. Then work on a team-friendly deal with Rondo and then take care of Kevin. Also, could Tyson Chandler be dealt to Boston?”

The same source revealed that the Boston trip is, in fact, something that was planned with Rondo. “Hearing Rondo and Love talked 11 days ago regarding this trip, on the phone, and that Rondo and him have maintained regular correspondence for the past 27 days,” the source said

It's here.

Thoughts?

I see that Joel Anthony gave tips to Rondo in recruiting players same way Anthony taught Wade how to recruit Bosh and James.
