Man, Sasha's cool until he starts arguing with the ref. Don't diss him!

Wed Nov 01, 2006 10:10 pm

I like Sasha also but I'd much prefer Kobe in there. Cant wait til he returns, I get the feeling the team is gonna make a strong push down the stretch and establish themselves as a serious contender.

Wed Nov 01, 2006 10:12 pm

Well, I think Maurice Evans is capable in both of their places thank you! :D

And someone tell Kobe to play some defence this year... he's capable but doesn't do it.

Wed Nov 01, 2006 10:25 pm

Bynum has some real talent. I love how assertive he looks. He has the potential to be something really special, a cross between Shaq (size, strength) and Divac (passing ability, skills, athleticism (young Divac was no slouch)) - not as good as Shaq himself, but still very good.

He's still only 19 remember... and he has Abdul-Jabbar as a mentor... he really impressed me especially with his jumper at the end of the game in which he helped keep the team up... (Y) great work on his part!

Well, we still got 17 out of 19 home games or whatever the number was!

Lmao. You tool Cloudy!

Thu Nov 02, 2006 2:45 am

Cool, Lakers started the season with a win...

I have to admit, I wasn't even expecting the Lakers to lose by 10+ points, I thought it was going to be 20+...

Hey guys, you noticed, they put a Lights out intro video on the homepage of lakers.com

PS. Sorry for double posting...

He doesn't?? That's news to me. Also news to the people who vote for the all NBA defensive teams.

Thu Nov 02, 2006 9:31 am

He's really on and off. Last season it seemed that he just 'sat' back a lot... maybe he was tried from attacking or soemthing.

Thu Nov 02, 2006 12:12 pm

Hmm... its funny it took me so long to notice Bynum had 18 points and 9 rbs and 5 asts in only 24 minutes of action. Thats pretty impressive if you ask me but I really dont know how that missed me. For some reason I though he played 30 -35 minutes or so. Guess I shoulda watched the entire game.

Thu Nov 02, 2006 3:26 pm

Bynum's played just 10 minutes cause he's got 4 fouls. Ah well, it's life. Doesn't take away anything from him for yesterday!

Odom: 13, 7 and 7 (Y) Walton leading the team with 15 points. Pretty good too :D

Most importantly, Lakers up by 10 :D Looking forward to this perfect 2-0 start to the season!

And Smush Parker doesn't seem like is trying to attack... I'm not watching the game so I wouldn't know... but I think it's a result of him having bulked up in the summer so he isn't as quick as last year?

EDIT: Wat the hell... Yahoo and NBA both have different scorelines for the game -.-

Yahoo

NBA

EDIT: Wow, Odom starting the season great... 22, 9, 9 another near triple double... and Ronny Turiaf with 23 points and 9 boards, a career high in points I believe?

Thu Nov 02, 2006 6:36 pm

yeaf Turiaf had a career game today. next up is a home and home against Seattle, hope they win both!

Thu Nov 02, 2006 8:10 pm

Yeah baby 2-0 Next up the Sonics and Kobe should be playing in this one, I know he wont miss playing vs Ray Ray and his new mohawk 8-)

Thu Nov 02, 2006 9:51 pm

Ray Allen has a mohawk? He was bald tonight Im pretty sure, so his hair must grow extremely fast :|

Fri Nov 03, 2006 1:52 am

Awesome, Lakers won another one...

Truly amazing stats by Turiaf, I'm so statisfied...

I like Maurice Evans. I reckon he is a very underrated pick-up will have a large say in how the Lakers end up this season.

Yeah he seems to be a good contributor off the bench.

Gotta love how the lakers started off as yet though. Without kobe beating the suns in a comeback and bynum throwing up a career night in hardly any minutes and Turiaf smashing his career high even better against Golden State, He was a beast in preseason i never figured it'd translate to the regular season. Who would've though the expensive cheerleader of last season would pull that out this year, I always thought he was a half decent hustle player but not to the tune of 23 and 9 in his first start. Lakers could be onto big things this season and all that remains is to watch kobe return :D looking forward to that so much.

Lights out was pretty shitty too, a dark stadium? thats almost as overhyped and fancily advertised as sterns mystery box.

Sat Nov 04, 2006 8:08 am

WEll looks like kobe will miss his 3rd straigh game. hopefully he plays sunday at seattle i got tickets and im trying to see him play

Sat Nov 04, 2006 9:47 am

Might only be me but Kobe's extended period of staying out of games is a concern for me. We've never seen him sit out this long... with him and the team not syaing anything about it, it's really hard to gauge how bad this is... with someone like Kobe, you'd think that he'd be back pretty quickly... ah well...

Yeah, Lakers win coming up tonight! :D Lamar Odom will hopefully get another 30 point scoring night... and one thing I agree with what I heard on Inside the NBA, Lamar is a good enough player to not only have 34 as a career high. It's just that he plays with Kobe where some think he's not as good as he really is. In reality, he's near Shawn Marion's level in my opinion.

Sat Nov 04, 2006 10:25 am

i dont think odom has ever been a #1 option and now he gets to show what he can do if hes the go to guy. if i was kobe i would sit as long as i can while the lakers keep on winning and when he comes back he will pass the ball a little bit more whens hes getting tripled teamed. 8-)

Sat Nov 04, 2006 10:32 am

Something tells me that when Kobe is back, teams will not know whether it is actually smart to triple team Kobe. He's got so many more options than last season with Lamar being more aggresive, Kwame hopefully playing well, Chris Mihm is always a consistent low post option, Luke Walton attacking more, Brian Cook who has a shot, Maurice Evans and Smush Parker... I guess teams will still double team him but I am very confident that the other Lakers can deliver when they get the ball off Kobe instead of immediately passing back to him (Y)

Sat Nov 04, 2006 12:13 pm

Kobe will be playing tonight against the Sonics!
