Atlanta Approaches the Lakers per AM 570
Here is a collection of reports on Herrington:
Lee Hamilton on AM 570 led off today's 5:00 PM headlines stating that Atlanta approached the Lakers directly about a sign-and-trade that would send Al Harrington to the Lakers for Andrew Bynum, Smush Parker, a 1st Round Draft Pick and $3 million in cash.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Later Hacksaw Reports: Lakers will not go over luxury tax to get Harrington ( I assume he means add to the cap). Also says that Lakers do not want to trade Andrew Bynum and Smush, but would like to switch out Bynum with Mihm.
Lakers will not make the deal unless Mihm or a bigger salary is added so that the Lakers don't take as big of a cap hit.
Harrington hired Tellem, and told him to go see if he can get him to the Lakers.
Milwaukee, Golden State, Indy in the mix too.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Big Joe just had a Hawk writer on his show, and he said that according to his sources, there are talks between the Lakers and Hawks. But he said that he has heard the Hawks are interested in Mihm, not Bynum and Smush. He also mentioned that a versatile player like Cook could be attractive, but not that he has heard the Hawks are interested in Cook. That would make the decision easier. He said the breakdown with Indy was the amount of cash included in the deal.

This time around, Jackson and his coaching staff wanted to see what Winter thought of the play of the team’s young players, especially teen-aged center Andrew Bynum.
“We all were in hopes that he would really arrive,” Winter explained.
However, after studying the tape, Winter offered the truth. The 7-1 Bynum had “a couple of really good games,” Winter said, but the 84-year-old guru came away with questions about Bynum’s intensity, his lack of “fire in the belly. His energy is a question.”
Winter also raised questions about Bynum’s quickness, his reaction to the ball, to events on the floor.
Part of that lack of reaction time is due to his size, Winter said.
“He seems to still be getting bigger. He is huge, but the bottom line, in my opinion, is that we can’t rush him.”
Because Bynum is so big, and a true center, his development is going to take longer, Winter predicted. And that means bigger questions for the Lakers in terms of the upcoming season.
“The organization has to make some tough decisions," Winter said. "You bet. From what I saw of the summer league tapes, there’s just not a whole lot of players there on the roster who can make a difference.
Winter said rookie first-round pick Jordan Farmar could possibly help.

Sounds like it's not Bynum's coming out year yet...Kobe permanently goes to the 3 and Odom to the 4?
